[AZORES-Genealogy] My Vietnamese Family Finder Match is Looking for his Portuguese Birth Father

2014-10-30 Thread A Faria
Hi Everyone,

My Vietnamese Family Finder match is looking for his birth father he has
provided me with some information.

1. He was born in 1970 during the Vietnam War

2. He was born in Da Nang, Vietnam

3. His birth father was an Army Nurse at Hoa Khanh hospital in 1969, and
was transferred to a different location never knowing the girl he was
dating was pregnant.

This person is someone with at least some Portuguese ancestry likely from
Pico island based on the two pages of common matches I have with Mr. Pham

2014-10-30 Thread João Ventura
Hi A

Most likely, he can narrow down the candidates to just a few, but for thtat
he definitively needs to get in touch with the US Army, and ask for their
help.

Some URLs that can help your match:

[AZORES-Genealogy] Note Margin - Marriage Record - Rabo de Peixe Marriage Record

2014-10-30 Thread Lee
Can some one decipher the margin note for the marriage record of:

Francisco Pachdo de Mello and Ela Thomazia (left page), married on December
13?, 1841.

He was the son of Jeronimo Ignacio Pacheno and Rosa Jacinta
She was the daughter of Manoel Francisco Rapozo and Matilde Ricarda

*I can see the date of what looks like December 1862 (or 1842) in the note
margin and may be speaking of someones death?*

Erica,

I read lines #14821 and 14822 and there is no last name, how do you know
these are the family members you are looking for? I don't see any other
information on them. Do you have any other document related to this one
with matching dates?

 Isabella,

According to Ancestry.com the Hospedarias that I have is from Sao Paulo.

I am anxious to research this adventurous lady. She was a 49 year old
widow who took her 13 year old son from Madeira to Brazil. I have not yet
found a relative that was already in Brazil, although I am sure there must
have been someone. My husband descends from her daughter, whom emigrated to
Hawaii when she married. We are looking forward to finding relatives in
 Brazil!

 Erica,

São Paulo state had up to eight Hospedarias where immigrants, most of the
time, stayed until they were transferred to another place where he/family
was going work for. You have the record of one of the Hospedarias, I'm
 curious which one is.

Rio de Janeiro had its own Hospedarias, so if this is a São Paulo
Hospedaria, it makes sense that Capital is the capital of São Paulo estate,
which is also named São Paulo.

This is the information I found in the Madeira database and it is all I have. I
don’t know for sure that the people in the Hostelry record are the correct
family members. They are good candidates at this point because they fit the
profile.
