Fernando,

That site is some kind of "back door" of the CCA. It's somewhat like a card
catalog of what they hold. Exactly what's in them or how you access it, I
don't know. Cheri

Thanks for the links, I searched for Raleza and it has. A file that includes
Antonio and Hortencia. How do I access these files, what info should I expect
etc. Can you give me a brief explanation of what the archives hold. I’ve only
used the CCA.

Antonio Soares Raleza shows up in a process in the Archive of Ponta
Delgada, have a look. You may be able to request copies which may contain
the information you seek.

There's one other process for a Manuel of the same surnames

Yes I thought about that, but in this case I think the last name is Raleza.

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Raleza, Antonio Soares

2018-03-25 Thread Nancy Couto
Fernando,

Is it possible that the Raleza surname was originally an alcunha and that
the spelling has changed? The word "realeza" means "royalty" in both
Portuguese and Spanish. Maybe one of Mr. Soares' ancestors was a descendant
of royalty, or acted as if he was. Just a guess.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Raleza, Antonio Soares

2018-03-25 Thread fpimentel4953
My great aunt Hortencia Luis Pimentel (1921-2015) married Antonio Soares
Raleza. I’m pretty certain they had a couple sons and daughters but my family
has no other info. I was wondering if anyone knows of this family? The last
name (Raleza) is unique I think. My aunt is from Vila Franca, SM, but I can’t
assume that’s where her kids are from. Thanks Fernando
