Thanks Angela, Unfortunately, I don’t have the parents of “my” Custódio yet.  I 
show him married to a Maria Rosa and to a Maria Jacinta.  I suspect that the 
two Marias are the same person but; not sure yet.

Sam,

This record is not a marriage record.  It is an "Order" or "Mandate" from
the Head Priest addressed to the Priest of Santa Barbara to receive the
couple named along with the details of his signed approval.

You will note there is no specific marriage date, other than the date at
the bottom where he signed off.  Usually these mandates were kept
separately.

This is my 2nd great grandparents marriage.  I can’t read enough of the words 
to figure things out.  Why the big deal at the top about the priest?  When were 
they actually married, 28 April 1837 or 16 June 1837.  I’m thinking the 28 
April date is when they received their dispensation for 4th degree of blood 
relationship and the 16 June date is their marriage date but; I just can’t 
figure it all out.  Any help will be very much appreciated.

  I’ve got that this is the birth of Joaquim son of Alferes Joam de Figueiredo 
and his wife, Maria de Braga.  I think I see the date of birth as:  15 March 
1726 but; I’m not sure and would like some input from you on it.  I’ve looked 
before and after but; those are just as hard for me to deciper.  Also, I can’t 
tell what happened April 12, 1830 (Over 100 years later?)  In the side margin.  
Is it just another “certificate” or is it more specific.
