Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Translation of faint document

2016-01-03 Thread JR
Just a few corrections:

Santa Amaro, Nov 28- 1696

Domingos Nunes, son of Domingos Nunes and Maria de Terra
to
Apolonia Cardoza, daughter of Francisco Vieira Valim and Maria Cardoza.
...moradores nesta dicta fraguesia... (so they are all from Santa Amaro.)

A different priest wrote the side margin names and used the more modern
Apolonia, whereas the text uses older spelling of Appellonia. Likewise with
Cardozo/ Cardoso (feminine ends with a)

Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Translation of faint document

2016-01-02 Thread 'Altino Demelo' via Azores Genealogy
Suzanne, the first date is the correct date for the middle record; 28 Nov 1697.

This marriage is from Santa Amaro, Pico island
Dominos Nunes, son of Domingos Nunes and Maria de Terra (you should get a secon
opinion on Terra)
To
Maria Cardosa, daughter of Francisco Viera/Vieira Valim and Maria Cardosa.
I think they are fro Funchal?

The others are from this parish.

The record underneath isn't a footnote but a different marriage record that
continues on the next page.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Translation of faint document

2016-01-02 Thread Sme

(bottom right side of page)

Hello. Can someone please read and tell me what the above marriage
document is saying.

The middle marriage belongs to my friend's family and gives a marriage date
of 28 Nov 1696. Uminho (Cit-Cem) says the marriage is 7 Jan 1697. She'd
like to know which is correct, and if this paragraph under the document is
a correction, and if so, why?

Thank you.
Suzanne
