Determining configuration issues?
Hi All, I'm very new to QS but am very impressed with the power and want to get it working optimally and make it a central part of my mac experience. The first most basic task I wanted to get working was email. I use gmail and Chrome, installed mail, contacts, and gmail plugins. I get some functionality, but not everything, so I have a few questions. (1) I have two laptops and installed QS on both. The odd thing is I get an error when trying to attached something to an email on one and not the other. In particular, on one I get a com.google.Chrome mediator is missing notification on one. I cannot find out where they are configured differently or how to repair this! (2) On the laptop without the error, the email writes but the file is not attached. Why! (3) Everything seems to go through apple contacts. I prefer to use gmail contacts. Is that currently not available in the plugin? I'd rather not sync if it can be avoided. As I set this up, advice on how to troubleshoot myself would be appreciated :). Best, Lance -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group. Re: Determining configuration issues?
Tried both, no luck. Both Handlers match, and just deleted and reinstalled the plugins with the same effect. I'm not really a programmer (anymore) but can probably follow instruction if there is any easy way to diagnose (for example, any config files etc). I poked a bit, but didn't know the app well enough to know where to look. Hmm… I’m stuck for ideas. Does anything useful show up in Console.app when this happens? Hopefully you have the manual now (from Rob) so fingers crossed you can work some things out. Regarding what’s possible with the Gmail plugin - all it does is constructs a URL for your browser to open. If Gmail has options (query parameters) available as part of the URL, then the plugin can use it. Regarding your problem with new lines - it works fine for me. Check the URL when your browser opens the new Gmail link. The newlines should be percent encoded as %0A On 16 Chwef 2015, at 20:16, Lance Edward Miller lance.e.mil...@gmail.com wrote: Hi Patrick, Great to meet you. Awesome, thanks! Hi Patrick, This is directly from Console: 2/16/15 2:30:23.938 PM Quicksilver[799]: Mail mediator com.google.Chrome not found On the other issue it seems the body string in this case is not posting correct: first+line second+line third+line. I guess that counts as a bug? Here is versioning info in case it is helpful: Chrome: 40.0.2214 OS: 10.9.2 QS: 1.2.2 Thanks! Hi Patrick, Okay, it must have been something on the initial install. Completely wiped the app, and this works now as the other laptop. I'll keep playing (with manual) and report with questions (for benefit of community). Thanks again for any help and advice!
