Upgrade your ISP from residential class service to business class
service. Read the terms of service for your ISP and this should make
sense.

Subject: [Blind-Computing] Distribution List Question

I send out a Daily Devotion and Word Of Wisdom to nearly 500 people per
day. Recently, in an
attempt to cut down on Spammers, my internet provider has set the number
of people that you can have
in a distribution list to 20. The only way I know to get around this
problem is to create about 25
small distribution lists with only 20 names each in them. If I have to
do this, I will have to send
the Daily Devotion and Word Of Wisdom out 25 different times, in order
to get it sent out to
everyone. Could someone please give me some suggestions on how I might
be able to do this in a more
simplified manner?

Thanks,
Donnie

You might want to consider creating a mailing list. This is what I have
done for my Company.

attempt to cut down on Spammers, my internet provider has set the number
of people that you can have
in a distribution list to 20. The only way I know to get around this
problem is to create about 25
small distribution lists with only 20 names each in them.

Re: [Blind-Computing] Distribution List Question

2009-12-26 Thread Seth Russell
Send them invitations. I do believe that these sites provide a process for
inviting people to join. You might loose a large percentage of your people
in the process ... people don't want to change. But if you have loyal
devoted followers, they should all come over. Another disadvantage is that
these groups are prone to pick up spammers. But you can control that by
limiting who can post to the group. Alternatively you could switch ISPs,
curtailing distribution lists seems a bit draconian to me.

Go to yahoogroups.com and go to the 3 easy steps to create a group. I own
 2
groups, and they both have almost 400 members, once it's set up, it's as
easy as pie. You send out 1 message, and everyone gets it.

In my experience, yahoo is more screen reader friendly than Google. But
I've never been a fan of Google services except there search engine.

Google also has very fine groups http://groups.google.com/
The question, of course, is: Which is more accessible?

Re: [Blind-Computing] Distribution List Question

2009-12-26 Thread David Ferrin
It depends on which service you are using. The program for this list is the
hardest to get a handle on but it is the most comprehensive. It is called
mailman but it only comes with certain web hosting packages. I can have as
many lists as I want to create but 3 is enough for me right now.
