Hi sir, I don't know but I want delete them. it seems to me that they're
file. But whenever I press delete key on the object the system says do you
want to remove this folder? Whenever I press space bar to confirm delete
the object, following dialogue appears-
Error delete file and folder dialogue, can not delete... access is denied
make sure drive is not right protected and file is not currently in use.
When I press enter on it, the system says access denied

The names of these two folders appear to be a series of hexadecimal numbers.
Do you have any clues to their origin?

Have you tried the applications key to delete the folders? Place your
cursor on the folder you want to delete, Press the application key which is
situated to the left of the right control key and arrow down to delete and
press the enter key. That should take care of the problem.

Re: [Blind-Computing] unable to remove unwanted folders from a drive

2009-05-07 Thread The Cluless Wanderer

Hi Trepan Singh,
Windows XP is notorious for not letting you delete files and folders. I've
had several instances where I couldn't delete folders and files. Here's a
easy to use program that will do the trick for you.

Unlocker for Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003
The program is free ware.
You can read about the program from this web site:
http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
You can download any previous versions for Windows 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista

From this website:

http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/old/

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Re: [Blind-Computing] unable to remove unwanted folders from a drive

2009-05-06 Thread David Griffith
Do you know what these folders are and what their purpose is?

The reason you are unable to delete them may well be because
1. They contain files which are write protected. You can alter attributes
but files are normally protected for a reason.
2. They contain files which are being used by your system already.
3. You have some disc corruption which means that Windows cannot locate
proper disk information for the folder in its FAT . This mean windows will
not be able to delete it.
4. Probably least likely there is some kind of memory resident virus/Trojan
using these folders. I think this is unlikely as it appears that there is no
attempt to conceal these folders.

I would never delete folders simply because I do not know what they are.
This should be investigated.
I would definitely check them out with a good anti virus program .
If the problem turns out to be disk corruption you need to use a utility
such as check disk to resolve this.
Before doing this back up as much as you can from this drive though.

. If it turns out you are experiencing disk failure I personally think it is
a good signal to invest in a replacement drive whilst you can. I would do
this even if the drive is repaired.
