Yeah I was kind of thinking about it and I guess maybe like if they’re there it’s OK I just don’t wanna play a game worrying about if I’m going get killed or not it’s not necessarily why I play games I play games so that I can have fun exploring new environments in solving puzzles like finding keys and unlocking doors and really exploring rooms to find hidden objects and things like that > On Sep 25, 2020, at 1:15 AM, Luke Hewitt wrote: > > The problem is that even when they don't involve direct combat and require > puzzles to complete, most mystery games tend to have a creepy atmosphere and > at least an enemy or two somewhere to overcome, since most mystery games are > either horror or fantasy, heck even in the old Zork interactive fiction > games there was a troll in one of the puzzles I believe. > > > You could have a look through the choice of games and hosted games titles for > interactive stories, there are some like choice of the cat that might suit, > and maybe the heart's choice ones which are romance based, but even there, > games like in the service of Mrs. Claws, a really fun christmas themed game > has a few enemies and evil elves and shape changers and so on for you to > overcome. > > > The Vortex on Alexa might be worth a look as well, a game where you command > robots to rebuild a crashed spaceship and solve a mystery, though even there, > there is at least the suggestion of nasty aliens as it's part of the > atmosphere, though the game is very much mystery and puzzle solving with a > little resource management. > > > Unfortunately, if your looking for treasure finding and mystery rather than > puzzles and building, you might have an issue if you don't mind at least some > sort of enemies somewhere. > > > Hth. > > > All the best, > > > Dark. > > > > > > -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group. Re: [blind-gamers] Games without ghost goblins or any kind of fear fighting or violence
The problem is that even when they don't involve direct combat and require puzzles to complete, most mystery games tend to have a creepy atmosphere and at least an enemy or two somewhere to overcome, since most mystery games are either horror or fantasy, heck even in the old Zork interactive fiction games there was a troll in one of the puzzles I believe. You could have a look through the choice of games and hosted games titles for interactive stories, there are some like choice of the cat that might suit, and maybe the heart's choice ones which are romance based, but even there, games like in the service of Mrs. Claws, a really fun christmas themed game has a few enemies and evil elves and shape changers and so on for you to overcome. The Vortex on Alexa might be worth a look as well, a game where you command robots to rebuild a crashed spaceship and solve a mystery, though even there, there is at least the suggestion of nasty aliens as it's part of the atmosphere, though the game is very much mystery and puzzle solving with a little resource management. Unfortunately, if your looking for treasure finding and mystery rather than puzzles and building, you might have an issue if you don't mind at least some sort of enemies somewhere. Hth. If you go to www.audiogames.net and use the "games" link on the main page, you can search games by genre. there are a lot of genres that intrinsically feature games with no action or conflict, EG puzzle games, those strategy games themed around building rather than military defense, most incremental games, sports games, simulation games etc. Off the top of my head, some good places to start with might be dreamy train, a japanese game all about driving trains, Eurofly, an atlas and plane simulation, Park boss, a game about running a theme park, the RS games client, a chance to play card, board and puzzle games with others online, and incremental games like space company, pizza presser, city builder or shark game, not to mention merry clickmas for some festive fun. You could also have a look into the choice of games and hosted games gamebook titles, since those are interactive stories with choices, many of which will not involve combat (there's even the heart's choice line now which are all romance titles), and likewise, if you hunt around interactive fiction, you'll probably find a good few games that might suit your taste. These are really just the tip of the ice berg though, and there are lots of others out there, it all depends upon what type of game you're looking for. hth. all the best, Dark. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group. Hey Jordan, maybe you'll agree with me? We need an accessible flight simulator since FS 2020 isn't accessible. Just my opinion from someone who if were sighted would have had a career in the air.
