Re: midi and \repeat

There's a section in the manual on Repeats and MIDI:

Hello,

I'm trying the MIDI output for my guitar and drums scores, and
surprisingly (ok I'm a pessimist) they work great!
There's only one problem: all \repeat parts either appear as blanks in
the MIDI, or they are just truncated to the first occurence of the
repeat (so if I have \repeat unfold 5 {}, there's just one in the MIDI
output).
Another question I have is regarding the drum MIDI output, It does great
things, but since I added a few drum notes, I have no idea how to map
those to sounds. The MIDI instrument list in the lilypond documentation
does not seem to list drum parts, is there a place to look for that ?
Thanks a lot

2.2.1 is out. It has a number of backports of 2.3 bugfixes.

The following bugs have been fixed:

voice-align

The following CRITICAL bug has been fixed in 2.2.1 (but is enough fixed in 2.3
to be non-critical):
tremolo-repeat

Re: Clef change

BTW, the same goes for multivoice-rest-position2. It's not 100%
obvious (to me at least) that it really is a bug; I can imagine that
the coders could be more motivated to fix the problem if you've done
some research that shows that your suggestion is common practise.

It's quite difficult to find a real example quickly (except my own
work :-). Well, take `Das Wohltemperierte Klavier, Teil I' (Henle 14,
engraved 1950 I think) and look at Fuga XVIII (BWV 863). In bar 4,
the eighth rests in the left hand are lower than in bar 39 or 40.
Similar typesetting can be found in Fuga XX. The general idea is that
rests of a voice in a multi-voice staff should follow the melody.

An even better example is from Robert Schumann, Klavierwerke IV
(Breitkopf 2620, engraved at least before 130 years), Humoreske, page
24f (`Mit einigem Pomp'), left hand -- I'm quite sure that this must
look similar in all other editions of the Humoreske. Again, the idea
is that the rests roughly follow the voice's vertical position.

Great!

 PS: I don't have a scanner (yet), so I can't provide images.

Not needed IMO, the important thing is that there _exists_ a good source. I
added notes that your two bug reports are verified as The Way It Should Be
Done In Well-Engraved Scores. It makes an important difference in priority,
compared to people who simply complain that they think something doesn't look
good.

problems when installing Lilypond on windows

2004-05-03 Thread Ulrich Vollert

Hello,

I tried to install Lilypond on Windows XP and followed the
installation procedure on

http://lilypond.org/web/download/windows.html#installing

When I double-clicked on test.ly (located on my desktop) a cygwin bash
window opened shortly but nothing more happened ???

I copied test.ly from the desktop to my

/cygwin/home/ulrich

and tried the command

lily-wins test.ly

This produced the log-file below which says that a file named
feta20.afm (a font-file?) is missing

Could you give me an hint to correct my errors?

Thank you very much in advance,

regards,

Ulrich
