Yes indeed. When I had our computer stores, I had huge anti static mats on the
work benches with wrist straps to the mat. Never had an issue.

Well the company put together a 'Chinese style re-education anti-static

perception

So if you walk into a shop and do not see any anti-static straps- walk right
out!
Try Micro-Center.

Interference Hunting in a 5G World: What you Need to Know

Wednesday, November 10th, 2021
Time: 09:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET

Interference Hunting continues to play a critical role in ensuring the quality
and performance of mobile networks. But different from 4G/LTE, the emergence of
TDD in the C-Band/band n78 and the general complexity of 5G deployments have
created some new challenges when it comes to identifying and removing network
interference. In addition, the emergence of private 5G networks for
manufacturing, warehouses, ports, etc. brings forth new stakeholders with more
demanding performance and quality requirements.
Join us for this 1-hour webinar, in which our Interference Hunting expert Peter
Busch discusses these issues in addition to answering your specific questions
on Interference Hunting in 5G networks.

Topics discussed:

   - Interference hunting in 5G networks: what’s changed?
   - External interference issues at C-band/band n78
   - Solving interference issues in private 5G networks
   - Updated interference hunting tools & techniques
Sincerely,
Your Rohde & Schwarz team |

I second what Rick says. Be advised most readily available PVC is subject
to UV degradation and will get brittle with time. Some PVC (like that used
in deck furniture) is UV resistant. Fiberglass works, but will also
degrade unless it's treated or you paint it.

Re: [BVARC] “Plastic” Mast

2021-10-26 Thread Rick Hiller via BVARC
Mark, If you are worried about mast interaction you might extend your mast
with a short 2 to 4 feet of wood/fiberglass/pvc dowel and place the balun
at the top of it. Since you already have a strong mast in place, an
extension might be the way to go.

The dowel, properly sized OD , will slide down into the mast ID and you
will have to use clamps or thru bolts to hold it in place. I suggest
strongly that if you use wood that you treat the wood with a product such
as Thompson sealer or something that penetrates the wood. I have done this
a few times with good results.

The balun should (as it is meant to) prevent antenna currents on the
outside of the coax shield which would be the culprit to make the mast an
influencer. To be blunt...I wouldn't worry about it, unless your feed/coax
match is off due to balun mast interaction and that depends on the
type/construction of the balun. ...but I guess rather safe than sorry
is certainly a tact to take.

Although I am not an expert, there is information available that points to
carbon fiber being electrically conductive.
