Re: [Cameramakers] National Shutter Tester
I believe that was a return to factory item. I have the issues of The Camera Craftsman that describe how it was supposed to work, if that's any help to you (you can't fix it if you don't know how it was supposed to work). That was the gizmo to die for in home shops back in the 70's! I drooled over the ads, but had to settle for a Synch Module and an oscilloscope, later supplemented by a FocalTrak digital tester (yeah, I'm one of the lucky slobs that managed to get a working unit). So you could sell that Digitest 14 to me real cheap, he, he. :) So what's it doing / not doing??? Did you get the owner's manual??? Is there any chance that any ofyou per chance have a service manual or repair manual for it that I could buy, beg or borrow long enough to fix it? Re: [Cameramakers] re: really large prints
Wouldn't that be 144 8x10 inch prints? John It's an economic decision for me: One 8 x 10 ft. @ $6000ea, v. ten 8 x 10 in. @ $600ea. :-) ___ Cameramakers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://rmp.opusis.com/mailman/listinfo/cameramakers
[Cameramakers] re: really large prints (Alan Zinn)
Now is the time to get philosophical about the large pictures.Successful portrait studios never hang a portrait less than 16 X 20 on display in the studio and they sell only big prints. We had a show of LF prints at a local gallery,30 X 40 sizes. Here I am looking at a print called Tree planters returning to camp.It is a shot of a bare mountainside, completely denuded of trees.Where the hell are the tree planters.?? Getting up closer ,there is a fine horizontal line running thru the center of the print. Guess what ,a ROAD and there on it is alittle truck about 1/4 inch high. TA DUMMMN!!!THE TREE PLANTERS sitting on the side of a 30 X 40 inch bald mountain. Only in Large format would you see such a contrast. There is the other tact ...We have the mechanical optical fascination of the camera collector, only bigger is more fun with LF.
