Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Voice Lab 11A CUE
You have the wrong license file. The Proctor Guide will walk you through where to get the file from. You need to load the CUCME file versus the CM file which is currently on the module. It will be something like software install clean URL FTP://10.10.210.5 etc Sent from my iPhone On Nov 4, 2012, at 11:28 PM, Brandon brana...@yahoo.com wrote: I'm at the point of factory reseting the CUE module and using the CUE wizard to import users from CUCME. The IP phone learns the authentication server URL during the phone's registration process. Cisco Unified CallManager Express (Cisco Unified CME) does not have an authentication server. Cisco Unity Express starts an authentication server that acts as the primary authentication server for VoiceView Express. The Cisco Unified CME administrator must ensure that Cisco Unified CME authentication server URL points to Cisco Unity Express authentication server. The URL format is http://Cisco-Unity-Express-hostname/voiceview/authentication/authenticate.do + - On Cue, i would make sure of this: service voiceview enable session idletimeout 10 end voiceview - Make sure to do this under Telephony Service: telephony-service no create cnf-files create cnf files Then, reset the phones. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] forward digits versus no digit strip
Just making sure I don't run into any issues/caveats. I know there is more than one way to skin a cat. That being said. If I have a dial-peer where I want to include the dialed digits plus prefix additional am I hurting myself or walking into a later problem if I use forward digits all along with the prefix instead of no digit strip plus the prefix. In the solution guide it uses no digit strip but I am in the habit of forward digits all – I have not seen any issues but just looking for potential scenarios. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE Voice 5 Lab Handbook
I believe it to be well worth it. I think its on sale right now too, or at least it was. I know people who have used them personally and passed so that should give you a good indication. In the same breath, I don't think they are a replacement for the other items you mentioned. For example, I think the vol2 labs get more practice with Globalized calling more than the 5 lab workbook does. Also QOS seem to hit harder in Vol 2. The 5 lab book hits on more troubleshooting like you may see in the lab as well. Each has its pros – no cons that I can think of! Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] NEW LAB in Voice
Hi, This is not a spam or anything neither we are cheating anyone! This is what i think and as per me it is right. When we go to school they teach subjects we note it in our book. While exam comes we read that but still once we complete that we ran here and there collecting more info e.g self study or question set or see last 3 years question set what other people got it till now we do those also! It's a human nature that everyone want to pass in 1st attempt so that do not mean it is a cheating, Either it is you or anyone else. Now we know the subject here and we are making our final touch to get other close workbooks so that we can clear it easily , It do not mean that we do not know the technology or skipping the tech definitely everyone needed last touch workbooks which help him to pass the test you can consider it last 3 years question set or whatever... Now i have a questions to you When in school we came out after test everyone says and ask discuss about how you did what was the answer you put is it anything difference Same in every every every institute when you enroll you first make friends then discuss learn with him go for attempt he comes out then he update to others and that is how it works so is that mean these are cheating if it is then we should close all the training institutes. Writing my above email do not mean or hurt anyone echo its just a truth what i am trying to say. Now even in school we have some different cases !!! ha ha like they will refer the workbooks but say i do not , some will say coming in front yes i did and passed bec of this , some will take write all the questions/solutions in their own format and then say they have made it by their own to proof them they are more good then others Some will do hard work take and search and verify what other did is it right or not from those workbooks again this is natural I don't want to make this email big so that people will not even study and through in dusbi.. I wish everyone good luck and success in life I have purchase the same bec i do not have 3 attempts for free where i go in lab and look at the questions come out make it and then again and then again and 4th or 5th attempt i will go and pass :) Josh friend (Please please please use this forum for help and building up other students studying for the exam like me in an ethical manner.) Use a translation pattern to convert the 9.whatever to full e164 + that way you get by with single RP with multiple translation pattern. A good tip is to get into the habit of doing this. Translation pattern to cobert 9 dialing to + route patterns to route + and do ANI manipulation called party transformation to do DNIS manipulation (apply the DNIS css to the gateways) In this way there are manipulations done in the route lists and the benefis are 1. easy to trouble shoot if there is an error (DNIS is called party, ANI is route pattern, no route = TP 2. once you've set up a couple of the called party transformations for standard and the TEHO and route redundancy - it tends to simply even complex route patterns ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Lab 7 Lan QOS
I've been doing some work on this topic and have moved away from my original thoughts which were along the same lines as originally posted by Nazeer and a few others . Here are some recent thoughts on the subject the question is not particularly well worded, we can't really influence the traffic from the CUPC client to the server by applying policy on the server port. What we can do is control what the switch port does with packets from the CUPS server to the clients by classifying and applying an input ploicy on the server port. I went back to the presence section in the CUCM srnd - the only traffic between CUPC and CUPS seems be 5060 for sip/simple and 443 for SOAP, this was sort of backed up by the information in the CUPC 7.1 release. The release notes also mention that ports 16384-16424 are used for TFTP - but this would not be classed as signalling. Since there are other servers on the port any access list would need to specifiy the server IP address. If you wanted to make it really specific you could also specify the destination address of the CUPC clients as well. Finally by putting bidirectional access lists (any any eq and any eq any) you may loose the points as it might appear you are hedging your bets and do not know how directional QoS works. Also we are asked to guarantee 32k for signalling traffic if we put non signalling traffic into this policy we are not achieving the requirements. These statements are not facts, just my current opinion based on the last bits of documentation read and I am happy to discuss. Best regards. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] H225 or ICT Trunk conundrum
The question - set up a POC H.323 trunk to your service provider ip address x.x.x.x and route international calls, these calls should have audio issues, It is not clear whether to set up a H.225 gatekeeerp controlled or a non gatekeeer controlled ICT. I would take it that since it does not mention that the service provider is using CUCM that you cannot use an ICT (GK or non GK controlled) -although in practice this works just fine to the PSTN-WAN router and without audio issues. So I take it then the correct way is to set up a gatekeeper and a gatekeeper controlled H225 trunk. But I still do not have any audio connection issues, it would seem the only way to ensure these is to set up CUBE which breaks the H.245 negotiation, unless of course the far end PSTN-WAN has CUBE installed, which of course would result in the same H245 issues. Has anyone had audio connection issues on a correctly set up GK controlled H.225 trunk without CUBE? ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MVA Hangs Up
There are quite a few issues with getting MVA to work correctly and with the rest of your config. if you post your config it will help also what you are entering as the RD and whether you globalise the numbers in the incoming gateway Here's some pointers the number that arrives at the gateway is usually a 7 figure subscriber number e.g. 525 if this number is entered as the remote destination number, all will work as long as whatever you decide to be used in the service parameter to provide the CSS (gateway or RDP) has the correct access partition with the local endpoints or to a route pattern for external. The issues start to arise when you configure the gateway to globalise the numbers. So the number arrives as 525222 but is passed to call manager from the GW as +1972525, this will cause the MVA 2 stage dial out to fail. after some playing around here's what I cam up with as a solution if you need to globalise the numbers. apply a voice translation profile to the voice-port as generic or specific as you like to get rule 1 /^525222/ /+1972/ type any international (international as the gateway will strip the + on the way through and the global prefix of + will add it back on - leaving it as subscriber ends up with a +14081408525) use the Full number +1408525 as the RD Set the Service parameter to use the RDP for CSS and set the CSS on the RDP to whatever you want remember of course to set the phone owner to the user with mobile access and that's it ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? can someone please either expalin or send me a working configuration for a basic h323 gateway MVA to allow 2 stage dialling. Here is the scenario PSTN number 525 dials MVA 3033300 recieves enter your PIn, select 1 and then can dial out as part of another question the h323 gw is globalising the incoming 525 number to +1972525 what needs to be set as the remote destination number? (PIN must be the 1st prompt not the enter your remote destination) what needs to be set in the service parameters I my lab if I set the RD to 525222 and leave the globalisation on - the call can not be routed, as soon as I remove globalisation from the gateway, the call can be routed to whereever I want depending on the CSS applied. If I set the RD to +1972525222 then I get the prompt to enter the RD (the call still routes if I enter and follow the prompts) Best regards, Steve ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] 9971 Message Button for VM
Hi Chase, since i'm using the standard one it is subscribed by default (Enterprise Service). You can also verify it in my Config snipped near the bottom: phoneService type=2 category=0 nameVoicemail/name urlApplication:Cisco/Voicemail/url vendor/vendor version/version /phoneService So subscription seems ok. I also don't know if all SIP-only phones encounter something similar. Maybe someone has an 99xx available to check? [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP failover events
Dear all, I just want to amke sure I have this question nailed. Can someone comment on revised annotation of the MGCP Packet debug below. Original question prove when the subscriber fails, the publisher will work. While the call is active shut down the CUCM - Subscriber services. Debug the MGCP message, steps should show: 1. Backup call agent send the message to the gateway to check the status of the Endpoint 2. Gateway sends the status of the call to the call agent about the status of the call. 3. Back up the message send from the call agent to the gateway. Put all the steps as event 1, event 2, and event 3 in the text file Apr 4 21:50:19.967: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.12:2427--- 200 858012 --- HQ-RTR# Apr 4 21:50:32.011: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.12:2427--- CRCX 73 S0/DS1-1/6@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 C: D2e5498b00F50003 X: 6 L: p:20, a:PCMU, s:off, t:b8, fxr/fx:t38 M: recvonly R: D/[0-9ABCD*#] Q: process,loop --- Apr 4 21:50:32.059: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.12:2427--- 200 73 OK I: 5 v=0 o=- 5 0 IN IP4 142.102.64.254 s=Cisco SDP 0 c=IN IP4 142.102.64.254 t=0 0 m=audio 16414 RTP/AVP 0 100 a=rtpmap:100 X-NSE/8000 a=fmtp:100 200-202 a=X-sqn:0 a=X-cap: 1 audio RTP/AVP 100 a=X-cpar: a=rtpmap:100 X-NSE/8000 a=X-cpar: a=fmtp:100 200-202 a=X-cap: 2 image udptl t38 --- HQ-RTR# Apr 4 21:50:32.191: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.12:2427--- MDCX 74 S0/DS1-1/6@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 C: D2e5498b00F50003 I: 5 X: 6 L: p:20, a:PCMU, s:off, t:b8, fxr/fx:t38 M: sendrecv R: D/[0-9ABCD*#], FXR/t38 S: Q: process,loop v=0 o=- 5 0 IN EPN S0/DS1-1/6@HQ-RTR s=Cisco SDP 0 t=0 0 m=audio 21070 RTP/AVP 0 c=IN IP4 142.102.64.29 a=X-sqn:0 a=X-cap:1 image udptl t38 --- Apr 4 21:50:32.211: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.12:2427--- 200 74 OK --- HQ-RTR# Apr 4 21:50:44.751: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.12:2427--- RSIP 858013 *@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 RM: graceful --- Apr 4 21:50:44.755: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- RSIP 858015 *@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 RM: restart --- Apr 4 21:50:45.259: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.12:2427--- RSIP 858013 *@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 RM: graceful --- Apr 4 21:50:45.259: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- RSIP 858015 *@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 RM: restart --- Apr 4 21:50:45.447: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.11:2427--- 200 858015 --- Apr 4 21:50:45.447: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.11:2427--- 200 858015 --- Apr 4 21:50:45.451: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- NTFY 858017 *@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 X: 0 O: --- * Event1: Backup call agent sending AUEP to gateway, to inquire about an endpoint * Apr 4 21:50:45.507: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.11:2427--- AUEP 1 S0/DS1-1/1@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 F: X, A, I --- Event2: Gateway returning (200 OK) with valid I: value (connection identifier) Apr 4 21:50:45.515: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- 200 1 I: X: 1 L: p:10-20, a:PCMU;PCMA;G.nX64, b:64, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-220, a:G.729;G.729a;G.729b, b:8, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-110, a:G.726-16, b:16, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-70, a:G.726-24, b:24, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-50, a:G.726-32, b:32, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR M: sendonly, recvonly, sendrecv, inactive, loopback, conttest, data, netwloop, netwtest --- Apr 4 21:50:45.515: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.11:2427--- AUEP 2 S0/DS1-1/2@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 F: X, A, I --- Apr 4 21:50:45.523: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- 200 2 I: X: 0 L: p:10-20, a:PCMU;PCMA;G.nX64, b:64, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-220, a:G.729;G.729a;G.729b, b:8, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-110, a:G.726-16, b:16, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-70, a:G.726-24, b:24, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-50, a:G.726-32, b:32, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR M: sendonly, recvonly, sendrecv, inactive, loopback, conttest, data, netwloop, netwtest --- Apr 4 21:50:45.527: MGCP Packet received from 142.100.64.11:2427--- AUEP 3 S0/DS1-1/3@HQ-RTR MGCP 0.1 F: X, A, I --- Apr 4 21:50:45.531: MGCP Packet sent to 142.100.64.11:2427--- 200 3 I: X: 0 L: p:10-20, a:PCMU;PCMA;G.nX64, b:64, e:on, gc:1, s:on, t:10, r:g, nt:IN;ATM;LOCAL, v:L;G;D;T;H;ATM;FXR L: p:10-220, a:G.729;G.729a;G.729b,
Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] switch-QoS-Quick Question
thanks for the reponse - this is more or less where I started with my config however there were some concerns over the term guarantee - so it was thought best to put the cos 3/dscp 24 into the priority queue by itself. In the interests of speed I left the auto qos stuff in as it did not seem to be doing any harm Best regards, Steve On Tue, Apr 3, 2012 at 11:54 AM, Jurassic Labs jurassicl...@gmail.comwrote: Yes - I think that looks good. I agree with the access-list 100 statements. One thing I am doing is saving the switch config BEFORE running the auto-qos macro; copying out the mls qos statements and class-maps / policy-maps, then modifying in notepad. I'll then reboot the switch and paste back in what I need. This effectively resets the switch to no Auto-QoS...and so my config would look something more like: ! mls-qos mls qos dscp-cos map 0 8 16 24 32 46 48 56 mls qos map policed-dscp 24 to 8 ! access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 2427 access-list 100 permit tcp any any eq 2428 ! class-map match-all SCCP match access-group 100 ! policy-map POLICED class SCCP set dscp cs3 police 16000 8000 exceed-action policed-dscp-transmit ! int g1/0/1 mls qos trust dscp service-policy input POLICED ! I'm seeing several other take this approach, but not 100% if that's a good way or not. ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? For example: I have RP 9.1XXX with a RL assigned that includes only the SLRG. PreDot is applied to this RP. When a user dials 91000 the Pattern matches and the user-display changes to 1000 Is this the correct way or should it display 91000 instead of 1000 If the 9 is needed to be displayed i would make my SLRG with PreDot by default. I'm struggling with this because i think i would waste a lot of the benefits a SLRG brings. Hi Ramy, cdp is only needed for the VLAN information. If your phone doesn't get an ip address you have a different problem. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] NM-HDV and RSVP
I have a Cisco 2651 router (BR1) with an nm-hdv and 2 pvdm12 installed. I've used it for CFB and MTP for transcoding, however the CLI config is different than my other 2651 router(HQ) which has a NM-HD-2VE. Is there a way to configure an RSVP MTP using the NM-HDV or does this require an enhanced HDV as the call amanger 7 interface only offer the possibility of enhanced IOS MTP. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] b-acd on CME
Problem solved, for those that had looked at the issue or may face a similar one in the future: the b-cad application was installed and working fine as shown by creating a pots dial-peer and poiting directly at the application. The problem was when I used the loopback interface either from external or internal. I finally traced the issue to a bit of config left over from a previous exercise - the ras port for registration to the HQ GK was set at 1820, this prevents the loopback from working. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] b-acd on CME
Any hints on how to get this working. I have it all installed and working from PSTN (not the method in the lab book). Basically because it wouldn’t work I created a pots dial peer for the incoming ivr number (3500) and pointed it to the service aa – all works as expected for both aa and aa-drop. However the internal phones don’t seem to be able to access the aa. I believe this is down to the fact that the dialpeer loopback through the loopback interface does not seem to be working, in the debug I can see that it matches the outgoing dial peer correctly but it never seems to loop back in and match the incoming dialpeer and send it to the application. I separated the outgoing and incoming dial peer functions to separate dial peers to prove this. I’ve reloaded the router and ensured that h323 to h323 is enabled What am I missing Best regards, Steve ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] 2651xm and MGCP gateway - Problem solved,
Larry, my error was really basic - although I have been in the video space for many years - this is my first foray into the world of voice and Cisco. Basically when configuring the mgcp gateway in cucm web page I added the 2651xm router as 26XX, I then added the AIM voice 30 (2 subunits) to slot 0 and added my vwic 2mft e1 card to subunit 1 (subunit 0 is occupied by my serial port). Upon saving, this presents you with 2 ports to configure 0/0 and 0/1 - this is where my ignorance led me astray - I assumed that these ports represented the 2 ports of my E1 card, as I had only the first port connected I configured this for use by my gateway - which of course failed. George very quickly pointed out that these ports do not refer to ports 1 and 2 of my vwic card but to the serial port (0/0) and the E1 port (0/1). Once this was done it all worked as expected (I had the rest of the config correct). I hope my stupidity can help someone else, however it was not all wasted as I learnt a hell of lot about collecting and analysing debugs and traces. In brief, this is part of the IPExpets vol1 ex 4 I have a vwic-2mft-e1 in my 2651 running (C2600-ADVENTERPRISEK9_IVS-M), Version 12.4(15)T14, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2) sh ccm shows that the MGCP gateway is registered, however it does not show as registered in the CUCM 7.02 interface sh isdn stat - shows no problem sh controller E1 shows no recent issues for line code, path code or slips sh network-clocks shows the E1 0/1 as priority 1 the E1 clock source is set to line (with the PSTN-WAN switch set to internal) Does anyone know how to configure a 2651xm for MGCP using E1 card The ccie voice that sold me the equipment assured me all would work - (Unfortunately for me he is now travelling in remote parts and uncontactable). I have his config and mine is the same, however I do not have the CUCM 7 that he used - are there any advanced parameters in CUCM 7 needed to make this work? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP Gateway reg issue (not l2 TEI or l3 bind)
Dear all, I am not sure what is going on here, I welcome all suggestions I have rebuilt a new Pub and Sub environment (10.10.210.12 and 13) I have reloaded the router without the controller config and triple checked the config and built all of the ISDN connectivity again. Here is what is happening pri-group timeslots 1-6,16 isdn stat shows the L2 TEI as MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED when I add the service mgcp to the isdn timeslots 1-6,16 the TEI losses L2 and status becomes TEI_ASSIGNED I add the isdn bind-l3 ccm command to int ser 0/1:15 and shut no shut the int. L2 status is still TEI_ASSIGNED I do a no isdn bind-l3 ccm The L2 status becomes MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED I can then issue the isdn bind-l3 ccm command and the status stays MULTIPLE_FRAME_ESTABLISHED as long as I do not reload the router or restart the ser 0/1:15 interface - if I do it becomes TEI_ASSIGNED. With regards to the registtration on the Call Manager i I remove the mgcp bind control/media source interface loopback 0 the gateway registers to the call manager using the BR1 serial interface - 10.10.11.2 When I put the commands back and restart MGCP - the gateway shows as unregistered and uses the 10.10.110.2 address. I have also followed Ashraf suggestion and in the mgcp clusterwide service parameters issued the command S0/ds...@br1-rtr.lab.com= 0011 to diasble the unused B1 channels At the end of the day when I make a call from HQ to 916178632683 nothing shows up on the isdn q931 debug - I feel that this is maybe due to the isdn bind-l3 ccm not being implemented correctly. The DNA shows that number is being correctly routed to the gateway. By the way I put in a voice dial peer from BR2 for this number and it does ring on the phone - so my PSTN WAN router and phone seem to be all OK. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP and H323 Gateway issue/riddle
Dear all, over the last few days I've done everything I can think of to get the MGCP gateway working on BR1 - cisco 2651xm router with no luck whatsoever. Coincidentally I had a similar issue with getting the H.323 gateway workimg on the BR2 router - Cisco 2811. I reloaded both routers, re-imaged them and checked the config a hundred times and implemented all the advice I got - all to no avail. This morning I configured the MGCP gateway on BR2 - 2811 and the H.323 on the BR1 2651 and it all worked first time (this took me less than 15 minutes to config). I am not happy that it does not seem to work the other way around and would like to have got to the bottom of the issue, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. At least I know that all of my config was ok and I learnt a lot about MGCP and H.323 gateways in the process. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP Gateway reg issue (not l2 TEI or l3 bind)
Bill, thanks for the response, the idea from the IPExperts is to use the ccm-manager mgcp command and specify a fractional E1 - all of the commands for the gateway are done on the router (control/media bind commands) and the define call-agent etc. I too have no issues using the 2811 router - all of my issues are when using the 2651xm with c2600-adventerprisek9_ivs-mz.124-15.T14.bin. I applied the advanced command on advice to busy out the bchannels not being alocated. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Fwd: CUCM7 and VMWare esxi 4.1 packet loss
I am running the cucm 7.02 pub and sub on vmware esxi 4.1 host (dual quad core, 16 gb ram) and if I ping the server from the router (1000 pings at 1000 bytes) I loose 1 in every six packets repeatedly - ie 5 success, 1 loss in a pattern. All the posts I can find about this are on the CDP duplex mismatch error, which of course I get but ignore and switch off with no cdp when it bothers me. However there is nothing on data loss. if I ping the esxi vswitch management interface I get no loss at all, so it seems it is the CUCM servers that are the issue. They are reporting that they are set to 100 Full and do not allow me to set network nic eth0 auto en I have tried setting all the path (server, vswitch and 3550 to 100 Full) with no improvement. Finally I tried moving the servers to a seperate vswitch (away from the management interface) that is connected to the cisco 3550 L3 switch using 2 ports set up as etherchannel. the esxi is set up to load balance based in ip hash. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Fwd: MGCP Gateway reg issue (not l2 TEI or l3 bind)
No matter what I do I cannot get the MGCP gateway to show as registered in CUCM 7.02. I think I have configured up the gateway in CUCM correctly. I cut and paste the router name from the sh ccm-m and the card is configured in slot 0 (aim-voice-30 (2 subunits) subunit 1 vwic-2mft-E1 0/0. After all the config is done I apply the no mgcp/mgcp command. I can see from the DNA that the dialled number is correctly routed to the MGCP gateway but a sh isdn q931 shows no output - ie the call never gets there. I aslo tried restarting the ris data collector and CM service on both pub and Sub to see if this was just mis represented in the GUI. When I reload the router the L2 isdn status goes back to TEI assigned until I remove the isdn bind-l3 from the loopback restart mgcp and then add it back in again. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] GREETINGS...
Hello all - I've been following the Voice-OSL now for many months as I've been passively studying for the Voice Lab since successfully passing my written-exam back in March 2010. I've been sort of sitting on the sidelines up till now as I'm now officially hitting the road with focused studies! I've slated my lab sitting for May 10th at RTP and so I'm excited to be coming on the field so to speak. I've started a blog at www.jurassiclabs.net and I invite you to take a look over the next several weeks as I will try to make relevant posts about my studies / progress. I've learned a lot of pointers from some of you (Matthew Berry) and appreciate your posts as both motivation and guidance! Thanks to you guys! You can also follow me on Twitter at @stevenjuras . I'm not a big social media nut so you won't see me post time wasting info about what I ordered for lunch. It's my desire and goal to put these new tools to professional use and join the community. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE VOICE HARDWARE
Thanks for the update Erik. I have discovered another solution which might work. It seems their is a hacked platform disk out their on the Internet. I was able to install on VMWare Microsoft 2003 Server but have not tried the installation of UCCX7. Will update when I try. I'm not really sure if it is appropriate for me to post the link. So I'm just going to give you key words to search for in google. Search for Operating_System_Software_that_Enables_and_Powers_Cisco_Unified_ and you should be able to find it. Thanks, Steven On Tue, Dec 23, 2008 at 6:47 AM, Erik Goppel egop...@gmail.com wrote: Steven, There is a very easy way to make the 2k3 os work in vmware. You have to install the os on a real MCS-server first, this is important. As soon as you have done that, you can use vmware converter (it is free) to make it virtual. As soon as you have virtualized the server, and you start it up in vmware, it will give you a message that you need to activate the OS license. This because the hardware has been changed to much, activate the server with the key provided on the OS disk you received. Reboot the server, and you are all fine. i have done this about 20+ times, and no problems whatsoever. Even if you have an AMD proc for your VMware machine, this will give you no problems for UCCX7 , for UCM ofcourse it will. On Jul 9, 2008, at 11:29 PM, Mike Stevenson wrote: As was mentioned.. a PVDM2-16 contains 1 DSP, when a DSP is configured as a Conference Bridge, the rtr loads the required firmware into the DSP. A DSP that has been configured as a Conference Bridge, cannot also be used as a transcoder or terminate PSTN calls. from the config profile 1 is conf-b, profile 2 is xcoder. both cannot run on the same DSP, for this config to work you would either require a PVDM2-32 (this contains 2 DSPs) or greater, or or the existing PVDM2-16, and another PVDM2-(8 or 16 or more) PVDM2-8 = .5 DSP PVDM2-16 = 1 DSP PVDM2-32 = 2 DSP etc.. This is all covered in the CCM SRND. Cheers On 10/07/2008, at 12:56 PM, Michael Thompson wrote: Onur, just curious where this ended up.
