Assuming you mean FCKEditor, it's right there - cftextarea richtext=true
gives you a FCKEditor textarea. You can mess about with it. Check the

it was still called FCKEditor.

RE: Enterprise Blogging Solutions?

2009-11-11 Thread Steve Keator

The reasoning that this client doesn't want any FOSS software lies in
the fact that they don't want anything that can be easily exploitable
... meaning ... they don't want open source code not because there's a
support issue involved, but because they're afraid of someone finding
potential problems in the open source software and exploiting their
site.  Surely it's understandable.

IMHO, FOSS software would be better anyways... when an exploit is found
it is usually corrected immediately (hours) unlike other types of
solutions (days or even weeks). But... it's the customer's policy and
choice to go this route (and trust me, their policy is ridiculously
over-the-top).

Thank you, everyone, for your help.

Cheers,
S.

You and I know they are all great products. The problem, however, is
that they're FOSS (Free-Open-Source-Software). I can tell you that the

such,
they have very stringent requirements for creating ANY website. We
could, of course, create a custom solution for them as well, however,

classpath in jvm.config

2009-11-11 Thread Beru

Hello,

I need to add a JMS client from WebLogic to CF, but want to be sure the
packages will not introduce conflicts with native CF classes.

Someone told me to add a specific classpath to the servers classpath in the
jvm.config but I'm not sure to understand how Java loads the different
classpaths and in which order...

In other words, I want to make sure the class path I add is the LAST one
loaded by Java, so in case of conflicts CF classes will prevail...

Can someone enlighten me?

Re: CKEditor

CKEditor is the name of the newest version. I assume by integrate into CF
you mean the file manager? If so, you'll either have to buy their file
manager, or merge it with some other file manager.I've been investigating
CFFM, but it looks like we're going to use TinyMCE instead of CKEditor in
conjunction with CFFM.

If you don't mean the file manager, the setup is detailed very well in their
examples, both onsite and in the zip file (just unzip the file into a web
folder).

RE: CKEditor

2009-11-11 Thread brad

If you're referring to the NEW version of FCKEditor (which has had the F
dropped and is now called CKEditor), ColdFusion does not use that newer
version for the built-in cfform tag.

You can use still the new version though by simply including the
appropriate JS files (it runs on jQuery now) and I must say it is easier
than ever to use. You simply declare your textarea in HTML and then
there is a line of document.read() code that turns it into the rich text
editor.

Hi,

Can any one recommand a good command line video converter for Windows
that could
- be executed from ColdFusion (any command line converter should do it)
- convert to FLV Flash format;
- retrieve metadata from input file like duration, original width and
height;
- extract thumbnail images;
- reasonable price ie below 300$

So far, the best candidate seems to be Total Video Converter Command line,

but $386 seems just a bit excessive to me

Row/Table Locks and SQL Server

2009-11-11 Thread Charles Sheehan-Miles

Okay, I'm observing a very strange phenomena.

Following the bulk insert of a fairly complex xml document, I run a stored
procedure which parses through the document passing the values into
relational tables. This part is all done in SQL, inside the stored
procedure.

Platform:

Windows Server 2008 64bit
SQL Server 2008
Coldfusion 8

If I do this from the query analyzer, it executes instantly, parses the
document happily and moves on, with row locks on the database never more
than 50 or so:

exec myProcedure @id=somevalue, blah other variables

However, if I call the following code in coldfusion, I end up with
potentially _thousands_ of row locks on the table, and the database becomes
unusable within seconds:

cfstoredproc procedure=myProcedure  datasource=#application.maindsn#
cfprocparam type=in value=#somevalue#
cfsqltype=cf_SQL_INTEGER
... blah blah other parameters
/cfstoredproc

That wasn't working out, so I tried this instead, so that I had isolated the
_exact_ same code as from query analyzer:

cfquery datasource=#application.maindsn#
exec myProcedure @id=somevalue, blah other variables
 /cfquery

The result this way is even worse.

This leads me to think there may be some extra locking being forced by the
jdbc driver, or I'm just doing something really wrong. I am not wrapping
this in cftransaction at this point. Has anyone encountered anything like
this?

Compare records and update

2009-11-11 Thread Jason Congerton

Hi

I have a table which stores measurements, the measurements have a corresponding
letter assoiciated with them i.e A = 0.34 B = 0.35 etc.

Measurements are directly related to the productPart table. The productPart
table stores part no info relating to the product and measurements.

One product main contain 1 or multiple part no's i.e

Product: UFC-SLOTTED
Part No: 21U, 22U, 23U, 24U

Each part number has it's own set of measurments i.e

Part No: 21U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23

Part No: 22U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=0.45, E=0.46

As you can see the part numbers can use a varying amount of measurments, which
is where my question comes.

Part No: 21U has 3 measurments; A,B,C
Part No: 22U has 5 measuremnts; A,B,C,D,E

I need to fill the gaps automatically to produce the following and place NA or
a null value.

Part No: 21U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=NA, E=NA,

Part No: 22U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=0.45, E=0.46

Once the user has completed inserting the measurements for the part no, i will
offer a button to finalise product insert.

I know i will need to loop around the the measurement table for each part no,
but how do i know when to insert the correct title(i.e D) and the null value,
what if statment will i use, i'm sure it must

be possible. Table structure below;

productPart
productPartID(uid), partNo, lamNo

measurement
mID(uid),mPartID(link to productPart), mTitle, measOne

Thanks

Jason

+1 VisualSVN

Easy install, integration with MMC, easy user/group management,
Integration with Windows Domain Accounts (if you want it), easy
upgrades, comes with a self signed SSL out of the box, underlying SVN
server kept very up to date by the makers.

Plus, it's free unless you need a couple of the feature for the paid
version. I think the big feature in the paid version (to me) was
remote administration.

I think ffmpeg does all of that stuff, for free. But $386 doesn't

Hi

I have a table which stores measurements, the measurements have a
corresponding letter assoiciated with them i.e A = 0.34 B = 0.35 etc.

Measurements are directly related to the productPart table. The productPart
table stores part no info relating to the product and measurements.

One product main contain 1 or multiple part no's i.e

Product: UFC-SLOTTED
Part No: 21U, 22U, 23U, 24U

Each part number has it's own set of measurments i.e

Part No: 21U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23

Part No: 22U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=0.45, E=0.46

As you can see the part numbers can use a varying amount of measurments,
which is where my question comes.

Part No: 21U has 3 measurments; A,B,C
Part No: 22U has 5 measuremnts; A,B,C,D,E

I need to fill the gaps automatically to produce the following and place NA
or a null value.

Part No: 21U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=NA, E=NA,

Part No: 22U
Measurements: A=0.23, B=0.34, C=0.23, D=0.45, E=0.46

Once the user has completed inserting the measurements for the part no, i
will offer a button to finalise product insert.

I know i will need to loop around the the measurement table for each part
no, but how do i know when to insert the correct title(i.e D) and the null
value, what if statment will i use, i'm sure it must

be possible. Table structure below;

productPart
productPartID(uid), partNo, lamNo

measurement
mID(uid),mPartID(link to productPart), mTitle, measOne

Thanks

Jason

Also, if you look in the CFIDE directory, you will find the .ini file

Re: CKEditor

2009-11-11 Thread Tony Bentley

I use it all of the time. It can be used in a number of ways. I like the ease
of clicking something that replaces the content within an element (textarea or
div) and loads after the page loads. I have an application that uses a custom
tag to instantiate it:

cfparam name=attributes.html default=
cfparam name=attributes.height default=200
cfif thisTag.ExecutionMode is 'start'
cfscript
fckEditor = createObject(component, fckeditor.fckeditor);
fckEditor.instanceName=myEditor;
fckEditor.basePath=/fckeditor/;
fckEditor.value=attributes.html;
fckEditor.width=100%;
fckEditor.height=attributes.height;
fckEditor.create();
/cfscript

/cfif

cfif thisTag.ExecutionMode is 'end'/cfif

Then just run it on your page like this:

cfimport
prefix=tag
taglib=tags/
tag:fck html=#myhtml# height=500/

You can add as many attributes as you want but this seems to be easier than
doing any changes to the code inside of FCKEditor.

Re: Ajax Query

2009-11-11 Thread Tony Bentley

Looks like everything is using Ext objects. Try building a function that grabs
each set value and places it in a corresponding hidden input on your page.You
need to store this collection somehow either in DOM or in form elements.
Easiest way to see your results is by using form elements that are hidden to
the user. I'm not sure how to grab the selected values but I'm sure Ext has
something built into the API for each object.

A universal function would look something like this:

//using jquery
function save(sourcevalue, elementIdToSaveTo){
$(#+elementIdToSaveTo).val(sourcevalue);
}
//standard js notation
function save(sourcevalue, elementIdToSaveTo){
document.getElementById(elementIdToSaveTo).value = sourcevalue;
}

You would run this for every item that you want to store.

I'm not sure if this helps. Without seeing what your client side looks like and
being able to inspect the elements, it is a little tough to figure out a viable
solution.

part no 23a has 3 measurements: a=0.32,b=0.34,c=0.45
part no 24a has 2 measurements: a=0.12,b=0.43

for part no 24a, I would need to display c=na, although c does not exist for
this part no. My final output should resemble this

Part NO: A BCD
23a  0.32  0.34 0.35 0.36
23a  0.32  0.34 NA   NA
23a  NA0.34 0.12 0.34

If I have misunderstood you - sorry.

Capturing a Flash Site Screen Shot

2009-11-11 Thread Richard Steele

Using CF8, how can we capture a screen shot of a Flash site problematically.
The capture program we now use doesn't have a delay built in so it immediately
takes a screenshot of a blank screen or the loading icon. Many thanks in
advance.

It's not a CF or Java option (it's .net command line utility)

But it does exactly what you've described.

Another vote for Unfuddle here. I was going to recommend it, but I was beaten
to the punch. Works great, nice ticketing, bug tracking, notes, etc features as
well. It's not expensive either. Also, given that it's hosted, you have offsite
backups. Used in conjunction with TortoiseSVN, it makes for a nice, smooth
system.

Re: Row/Table Locks and SQL Server

2009-11-11 Thread Kris Jones

Does your procedure specify rowlocks, nolocks, etc? Without that you
may be at the mercy of the client (or driver in this case)

Cheers,
Kris

 Following the bulk insert of a fairly complex xml document, I run a stored
 procedure which parses through the document passing the values into
 relational tables.  This part is all done in SQL, inside the stored
 procedure.

 Platform:
 Windows Server 2008 64bit
 SQL Server 2008
 Coldfusion 8

 If I do this from the query analyzer, it executes instantly, parses the
 document happily and moves on, with row locks on the database never more
 than 50 or so:

 exec myProcedure @id=somevalue, blah other variables

 However, if I call the following code in coldfusion, I end up with
 potentially _thousands_ of row locks on the table, and the database becomes
 unusable within seconds:

 cfstoredproc procedure=myProcedure  datasource=#application.maindsn#
                    cfprocparam type=in value=#somevalue#
 cfsqltype=cf_SQL_INTEGER
                    ... blah blah other parameters
 /cfstoredproc

 That wasn't working out, so I tried this instead, so that I had isolated the
 _exact_ same code as from query analyzer:

 cfquery datasource=#application.maindsn#
        exec myProcedure @id=somevalue, blah other variables
  /cfquery

 The result this way is even worse.

 This leads me to think there may be some extra locking being forced by the
 jdbc driver, or I'm just doing something really wrong. I am not wrapping
 this in cftransaction at this point.  Has anyone encountered anything like
 this?

Re: Missing Form Fields

2009-11-11 Thread Azadi Saryev

as Ian has said, the problem is likely to do with your #form.number#
variable: somehow its value when you were building your form fields, and
its value on the form's action page is not the same.
check your code that sets its value and look for any code that may
change it...

are you building your form fields in an indexed cfloop? e.g.
cfloop from=1 to=10 index=x
...form fileds created here
/cfloop

Re: CKEditor

2009-11-11 Thread Mike Kear

FCKEditor was named by Frederico C Knabben (a Dutchman I believe) who
wrote it.Over time a lot of English speakers suggested he find
another name for his product, because of the obvious issue when it's
used in English. More than once I've had a client call me and ask why
I'm putting obscene messages on the web site. With this latest
version he's listened to the English-speakers and dropped the F from
the name.

The version of FCKEditor shipped with CF8 was not as cross-browser
compatible as more recent versions. When FCKEditor is called by a
browser it doesnt know about it renders a simple textarea instead.

The solution is to upgrade the version of FCKEditor in your CFIDE
folder by downloading a newer version of FCKEditor from fckeditor.net
 and installing it into /cfforms/scripts/ajax/FCKEditoror learning
how to use the awesome configuration power of FCKEditor and put your
own version in your site, then configure it how you want. There are
a lot of resources for configuring FCKEditor in the web site at
FCKEditor.net - including some documentation about how to integrate
it into coldfusion forms.

Why have a rule for each article when you could use the same rule for all of

Try this out:

Subject: Re: Ajax Query

 Looks like everything is using Ext objects. Try building a function that
 grabs each set value and places it in a corresponding hidden input on your
 page.You need to store this collection somehow either in DOM or in form
 elements. Easiest way to see your results is by using form elements that
 are hidden to the user. I'm not sure how to grab the selected values but
 I'm sure Ext has something built into the API for each object.

 A universal function would look something like this:

 //using jquery
 function save(sourcevalue, elementIdToSaveTo){
 $(#+elementIdToSaveTo).val(sourcevalue);
 }
 //standard js notation
 function save(sourcevalue, elementIdToSaveTo){
 document.getElementById(elementIdToSaveTo).value = sourcevalue;
 }

 You would run this for every item that you want to store.

 I'm not sure if this helps. Without seeing what your client side looks
 like and being able to inspect the elements, it is a little tough to
 figure out a viable solution.
