Re: Stus-List Water heater weirdness

2018-10-23 Thread ALAN BERGEN via CnC-List
With both taps turned off, if the pump pressure switch doesn't see back
pressure, it will run until it sees pressure, and the pump turns off. When
the cold water is turned on, the pump pressure switch sees no back
pressure, and pumps the cold water. When the cold water tap is closed, the
pressure switch sees back pressure and turns the pump off. When the hot
water tap is turned on, there is still some back pressure (coming from the
hot water tank), so the pump doesn't turn on immediately. After the hot
water runs for a while, there is no back pressure, and the pump turns on.
This is normal operation. If the pump is straining before it shuts off,
it's because pressure is building up in the hot water tank.

Stus-List C 24 For Sale

2018-10-23 Thread Doug Ellmore via CnC-List
*AHOY 1976 C 24 For Sale*

POC: Doug Ellmore, Sr. - d...@ellmore.net

Since 2016, Red Sky a 1976 C 24 has been an exceptionally fun sailing
yacht for its me. I am interested in moving up to a C 30 MKII after over
two+ years of successful racing. Red Sky was acquired in 2016 from a
friend moving out of state. I did many updates and maintenance items since
2016 and have raced Red Sky to a number of podium finishes in races
sponsored by the Herring Bay Sailing Association (HHSA), Annapolis Yacht
Club (AYC), and Eastport Yacht Club (EYC) and others. The Chesapeake PHRF
rating is 234. There is also a Chesapeake Racing Cruising Association
(CRCA) Offshore Racing Rule (ORRez) rating. Marine survey was done in 2018.
Red Sky races exceptionally well double handed and is easy to sail single
handed.

In addition to racing, Red Sky is exceptionally fun to day sail and cruise
overnight. I have done many outings with family and friends around Herring
Bay, West River, and around the middle Chesapeake Bay.

This would be a great boat for anyone new to sailing, upgrading, or
returning to sailing. It has quick controls and takes light, medium or big
water and wind with ease. The updated controls make it easy to single or
doublehand and provide the ultimate set of controls and trim of sails.

Here is a YouTube of Red Sky start in Race to Oxford

Re: Stus-List Pressure Testing water lines...

2018-10-23 Thread Marek Dziedzic via CnC-List
why not trying an air compressor. You have the water in the lines already. You
don’t need much volume. You can adjust the pressure from as low as you want, to
as high as you want (I would not go much over 60 psi).

I use a compressor to push the water out of the lines for winterising. I did
not notice any issues, but I usually run it at about 40-50 psi. Higher after
the water is gone to blow the remnants.

While there may be room to meet in Josh's boat, the Mid-Atlantic
Rendezvous will have to work to top Starship Enterprise in the way of
drinks...

Omg! Perfect!!?
This is perfect. Thanks so much. Now I just have
to figure out where the compression release is ???
I?ll figure it out. We flushed it with fresh
water followed by RV pink anti freeze?

Flushing it is a great suggestion

No accumulator tank, the T/P valve is the only thing I changed, no other
lines disconnected.
Thanks for all the thoughts, I'll try bleeding off the T/P valve and see if
it helps.

I will drop by Friday morning to figure out which side you're docked. Can you
send a note when you're situated?

Subject: Stus-List Looking for a cruising chute

Hello all,

I am looking for a asymmetrical cruising spinnaker for a 1994 C 37/40+
(centerboard version). Per the specs, the I = 52', the J=16', and measuring
from a full hoist with the spinnaker halyard to the attachment at the foot
yields 53'8", and to the top of the lifelines is 51'10".

Does anyone have such a sail they'd like to part with?

If not, which of the used sail consignment shops do you recommend?

Thanks!!!
