Re: Stus-List C 30 MK1 General Questions
Hi Steve, It sounds like your tank is constructed similar to the 35 mk-1. I was going to remove my tank, move some house bank battery into the locker for better weight distribution and add a bladder tank, as Dennis has done. It's just that I never have time to get it done so I cruise and tolerate a sometimes leaky lid. Dribble Dove dish soap inboard of the tank and under the engine to help clean the bilge as the soapy solution slowly makes its way to the bilge pump. So, if you're ambitious go with Dennis recommendation And if you're lazy then take the lid off and scrub the inside of the tank with a strong bleach solution, shop vac it clean, put the lid on and go sailing. It will be good for another 20 years of constant use. Pretend you will get to it next year... it's worked for me so far. :) cheers, Russ Sweet 35 mk-1 At 04:26 PM 13/07/2017, you wrote: I'd consider dropping a flex tank in there. Joe, Thanks for the suggestions. I have pictures here to help http://www.demore.com/images/Water_Tank. Re: Stus-List C 30 MK1 General Questions water tank
Hi Steve, Is this a GRP tank with a lid that is fastened all around the top perimeter? Common in the old days was to use a "food grade" gelcoat rolled on the inside of fabricated tanks. It's probably called "potable water" gelcoat these days. That would explain the cracks/crazing that you see. Otherwise gelcoat might be a good solution anyhow (pun intended). BTW Is this your theme song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzmFXw0yFaM Cheers, Russ Sweet 35 mk-1 At 05:59 PM 11/07/2017, you wrote: Need some help/advice from some more experienced C people.
