Hmmm...upon further testing I did notice a couple of other things that may
be specific to my headset.

Occasionally the key presses from my headset stop being picked up by
intoneit looks like they are being sent to the phone because the screen
will turn on, but intone doesn't respond. But then after a song change it
sometimes comes back. Could it be related to the name of the song? I'll
try to remember to write down the name of any of the songs that the buttons
stop working on in the future...

This may be my headset...but it seems like sometimes after a couple of the
blips in the sound the song seems slightly distortedlike some of the
instruments suddenly sound flat... Not sure what is causing thishas
anyone else experienced it?

Overall still certainly very usable though!
Thanks again for the great program!

Yes! It does. That's exactly what I was looking for - some error from

should be able to handle these breaks now.

Occasionally I have problems with the play/pause...but it doesnt look like mine
is from the code being sent twice (intone doesnt report it twice anyway).
It looks to me like the error occurs after I used the previous key, and then
tried the play/pause key. When that happened intone gui shows on the
play/pause toggle button a play button (when it should be a pause)
and just keeps on playing the song.

I got time outputs of: (not sure what these are...)
time - 1248187227.222462
time - 3.214989
time - 115.908660

I occasionally get a message from intone that says Cannot stream to
bluetooth! and it cuts out and switches back to the internal speaker.
I ran mplayer from the command line and saw that mplayer actually outputs:

[AO_ALSA] Trying to reset soundcard.
[AO_ALSA] Write error: Broken pipe 16.4% (or whatever percent of the song its
on)

I can make the pipe break pretty regularly when I touch the screen...but
if i dont touch anything it works fine...
(it looks like this is alleviated some if I set mplayer's nice level lower...)

Hope this helps! And thanks for the great work! It is already very usuable
with my bluetooth headset!

Okay, I paired my A2DP headset (Lubix UBHS-NC1 ...from woot a couple of
weeks ago)

And I can get mplayer from the command line to play music to the headset
(Though I have to play once, ctrl-c, then play again to get it to
work...it seems like the headset needs something to wake it up before it
will accept the stream...and then after a bit of nothing streaming, it
times back out and I have to do a fake run of mplayer again) It
sounds great though when its working!

However, I cant figure out how to get it to play to the headset from
intone. Is there something you have to pass it to go into bluetooth
mode?

I know my commands are getting recognized from the headset to the moko
when I press them because the screen turns onwould love to help by
submitting more codes!

Well, OM2009 doesn't yet have mplayer in the feeds.
Even if it did, the one normally in the feeds is generally the one linked
against floating point libvorbis. Using the version linked against
libivorbis (which uses integer based decoding) reduces CPU usage by about
50%. Hence the recommendation to use the one so graciously provided by
PaulTT. Ideally, one day when people have time to contribute a patch/.bb
file, mplayer from the feeds will be linked against tremor/libivorbis.

:-) Well, I thought the volume below 70% was almost inaudible. Using the
pause button to mute saves me space neede for another button.

Most albums I tried load fine from Songs-Playlists/Folders, but

strange characters, all english. Once I close the Songs window after
selecting Projector, Intone crashes with:

Does that help you?

 * (hopefully) better top bar in playlist view

 * fixes to better support logical order when changing from
 random-normal and vice versa
 * support bluetooth streaming to A2DP sets from intone (__you'll have
 to pair the headset yourself__)
 * better time display on progress bar
 * even better scan routine (please rescan your songs for the right
 names to be picked up)
 * some code speedups
 * fixed ui break in album art view with long song names

So try it out and post feedback.
Coming soon - progress during scanning, quick search for songs and
 bluetooth headset button support.

Nope, it occured only once, cant reproduce it.

Improvement ideas:
- Implement delete song
- Please use equal width buttons
- Implement the same sliding what paroli has. So in a list, you can slide
left or right, and additional options appears (like delete, rename), and
even it could change the Album name/Artist name/song title field.

I find realy nice in paroli how is it implemented. Please steal the
nice ideas.;)

In paroli, all list elements are an .edc group. (so in your case:
[icon]Song title).
After it should be simple to create some animations and actions on the item.

Best regards,

They have a learning tool for it. It is implemented in flash. It

There are many applications of it, not just the above one. (but it is

And add all the automatically created playlists to 1 playlist. Might be

the AVSCR scancodes are like.
BTW - this binary also incorporates fixes for reported bugs (except the
scanning bug which I still haven't found the reason for) and 'equal sized
buttons'. So people who *desperately* need to edit their playlists can us
this straight away.
I'll package this once the AVSCR functionality is working fine - which

Everything works as expected, but my play/pause still likes to send two
events most of the time, and therefore the music pauses for a moment then
resumes. This means Intone is doing everything correctly, but it makes it
somewhat pointless for me. :P

The only thing you need to do is `modprobe uinput`, after that the AVRCP
commands will work. Intone can do that when you turn on bluetooth.

Check time when you get an event, and if it's within 1 second of the last
event you received, and it's the same event, then ignore it. That's how I'd
do it anyways.

First problem: I tend to lock the screen when intone is running so nothing
presses the screen and messes things up, but AVRCP events don't come through
a locked screen. Does anyone know a way to catch those keypresses?

wanting to pause the music again...
I'm guessing the invalid event comes within a few milliseconds of the
first, real event. Maybe 100 ms is enough of a wait?

I would like to delete (physically from the sd card) the songs.
Simply because I upload a bunch of files, and want to arrange them after.

edc normally. There is a way to use edje files for layout though.
I'm looking at moving to a evas/edje layout (for some windows). That

Paroli use elementary too! For lists we use elementary, and each item is

The second pause is getting through fairly often now, but I think it's
catching some of them. I can't tell when it sends one and when it doesn't. I
haven't seen any output stating anything about a time difference.

Bug: Music randomly stops playing every now and then, and I find an error
message up on Intone saying it couldn't stream to bluetooth. It then resets
config back to speaker and I have to set it to bluetooth again. My guess is
this is caused by a blip in the signal, which is a part of bluetooth life,
and usually mplayer handles it by resetting the pipe. I think Intone can
safely ignore this. I could be entirely wrong though. :)

Okay, I paired my A2DP headset (Lubix UBHS-NC1 ...from woot a couple of

And I can get mplayer from the command line to play music to the headset
(Though I have to play once, ctrl-c, then play again to get it to
work...it seems like the headset needs something to wake it up before it
will accept the stream...and then after a bit of nothing streaming, it
times back out and I have to do a fake run of mplayer again) It
sounds great though when its working!

However, I cant figure out how to get it to play to the headset from

mode?

I know my commands are getting recognized from the headset to the moko
when I press them because the screen turns onwould love to help by

It is managable, but I need to pay attention when I hit buttons.
In paroli I can hit buttons without looking at the screen.

I have made a calculator app in paroli(didnt release it yet),
and thought a lot about button sizes. Here is a mockup
(the final app looks pixel perfectly the same except the colors):
http://khiraly.googlepages.com/calculator.png

It is five buttons in a row. And it is comfortable to use the number buttons
(I use it 3 weeks already). However the function buttons (sin, cos, log)
are just the minimum size.

So my suggestion is: five buttons are fine IF they have equal width AND
are tall enough.

I find them a bit small in height. I didnt measured it in Gimp and compared
with the above calculator picture.

The files are you need to look into:

item.edc (list item)
list.edc line 222:

I can help you with the rest (sliding, additional button). However I
will be on holiday

I have found a couple of problems with it: 1 it doesn't seem to remove songs

and had intone scan my music directory. After removing the m4a files and
rescanning the directory they are still listed in intone. 2. when going
through songs - artists - and selecting a single song it doesn't play but
going to all songs and selecting the same song it plays just fine.

Why isn't a tremor-version included in SHR?
I noticed the lags, installed tremor and it is SO much better now^^

Please add tremor-mplayer to the repository

Hi,

Actually, intone manages m4a files too. Since mplayer supports many formats
- I've curtailed the list to mp3, m4a, oga, ogg and wma. I can add all other
formats that mplayer supports - just let me know. So - those should play.

vendion wrote:

Now that shouldn't happen. Thanks for the report - will check it out.

vendion wrote:

Yup, that's a bug. Double-clicking it works for now as a temporary
solution. Will fix in soon.
Thanks.

I'll recheck also tremor patch and send it.

Intone 0.60 Almost Stable ;-)

2009-07-18 Thread c_c

Hi,
Well, after quite a few tweaks - here is the latest version of Intone.

Changes :-
* (hopefully) better top bar in playlist view
* change priority from gui
* change playing song icon to play in list
* fixes to better support logical order when changing from random-normal
and vice versa
* support bluetooth streaming to A2DP sets from intone (__you'll have to
pair the headset yourself__)
* better time display on progress bar
* even better scan routine (please rescan your songs for the right names to
be picked up)
* some code speedups
* fixed ui break in album art view with long song names

So try it out and post feedback.
Coming soon - progress during scanning, quick search for songs and
bluetooth headset button support.

I don't have a bluetooth headset - so please try the feature and post back
if it works. Will start work on the commands once this is proven.

Thanks

Re: Intone 0.60 Almost Stable ;-)

2009-07-18 Thread The Digital Pioneer
Quick bluetooth note: you need to turn the bluetooth chip on before you can
use it (as you know). Please request it from FSO before trying to use it, as
that makes life easier for the users (we don't have to do it manually) and
it saves battery life (only have it on when you're using it).

I'll be more than happy to beta test AVRCP functionality (which is bluetooth
control buttons). Just give me a binary, as I can't compile for FR, and I'll
tell you what I get. :)

Finally, AWESEOME UI updates. Everything works perfectly, and I really like
the new way to control repeat/random. It's excellent to have a nice control
for mplayer in the GUI too (saves me a lot of time starting the music). Just
one quick request: remember what I set mplayer's nice to between sessions.

Lots of great updates. :D Thanks!

Ok. And switch it off on exiting intone? Should I be doing this? Hmmm.

2009-07-18 Thread The Digital Pioneer

That should be working. Can you confirm?

Oh, it probably is. I had to kill -9 intone to make it exit when I tried it,
I didn't think about that... :P Why did I have to kill -9 it? Because it
tried to use bluetooth without having the chip on.

And yes, if you're using bluetooth, you should request the resource from
FSO. Otherwise, it's luck of the draw whether it'll actually be usable or
not, and if it's not, bad stuff happens. Just tell FSO when you need it and
then when you're done (which would probably be on exit) and it'll take care
of everything. :)

Ok. Will do that. Have started work on reading key scancodes from X. Can
someone point me in the right direction - an example will really help.
Thanks.

Hopefully the details are the same on the FR, but I can't be sure as I can't
actually see what keycodes are received on the FR. I just know for certain
that it's getting some.

I'll be happy to give any other info you need.
