Re: [CGUYS] Just How Badly is MS Selling?

2007-07-06 Thread John Duncan Yoyo

Another thing is that the X-Box had been selling for awhile and the
people buying Wii already have an X-Box and don't need another. Japan
is very tech trendy. They throw out perfectly good equipment to get
the next newest thing.

One of the better uses for an X-Box is as a server for HDTV plus
wasn't their HD-DVD drive relatively cheap compared to a stand alone.

FWIW Hasn't Todd McFarlane stopped creating comics? He was busy
running his toy company. After Image fell out of my radar I haven't
heard much out of him. Spawn is being done by someone else.

Of course telling him to stop isn't such a bad thing either. I
haven't liked much he has done since Infinity Inc and Spider-Man.

Maybe they should start giving them away?

It is not just the Xbox that is not selling try the Playstation 3
which is not selling.

The WII is a dark horse. It did not come out with bigger and better
graphics or more wow factor other than the wireless game controller
that you use actions to do things with.

It is being sold out every shipment it gets in at stores, as it has
become so popular for that very feature.

I would love to get one and I do not normally buy game consoles!!!

Re: [CGUYS] Just How Badly is MS Selling?

2007-07-02 Thread Rev. Stewart Marshall

The Japanese numbers are typically bellweather numbers.

These units sell earlier and sometimes in greater numbers than they do here.

But to reaffirm the numbers from Tom. I read an article that showed
both the Xbox and the Playstation 3 are selling way below projected
numbers here in the US. Except for the initial surge on the PS3 it
has not been well received.

On the other hand the WII has been a sell out ever since it was
introduced. They cannot keep it in stock and are looking at it still
not being in great numbers until after Christmas as they simply
cannot keep up with demand!

I read this in an article discussing the IPhone no less.

2007-07-02 Thread Jeff Wright
And the Wii just came out 6 months ago or so and the Xbox 360 has been
selling for what, almost 2 years? Next, Tom will be telling us that 2007
calendars are outselling 2005 calendars in Latvia.

Still, that Xbox is a money loser for MS is not news.

I hear that the Wii might come out with a lightsaber game. THAT will be
cool.
