[Cooker] [Bug 3132] [kernel] Network device SIS900 does not connect to LAN or internet (see also bug#: 2525)
http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3132 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |RESOLVED Resolution||FIXED --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-15 19:39 --- here i am again. first of all i have to beg your pardon because after a pritty long time i found out, that the network cable was broken ... sorry for having you stolen precious time! now i can ping the two computers, but the connection is _very_ slow with a package loss around 20-30%. but this doesn't seem to be a driver bug, because when i connect the computers running M$windows2000 it's the same. the connection is a direct PC to PC connection without hub of about 3 m of cable, so i do not understand, why the connection is so slow. could it be a wrong cable again? ... in the meantime we can clouse this bug about SIS900. thanks for all! --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: As already reported in bug#: 2525 for ML9.1 RC1 this bug is still valid in ML 9.1 RC2. After trying the suggestions in bug#: 2525 I still can not connect to other computers in the LAN. ifconfig shows me correctly the device and pinging the device itself on the same box works out korrectly, but pinging another PC from this box I get a: ping: sendmsg: Operation not permitted. Pinging the device from other computers I get a host not reachable. The SIS900 network device is on motherboard: K7SOM+ with CPU AMD Athlon XP 2000. Thanks for any help!

http://qa.mandrakesoft.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3132 --- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-11 12:20 --- None of these options helped. I see that you have acpi=off in your lilo.conf, so those options I gave you does not help... but that is not the problem... this is: sis900.c: v1.08.06 9/24/2002 PCI: Found IRQ 5 for device 00:04.0 eth0: Unknown PHY transceiver found at address 1. eth0: Using transceiver found at address 1 as default eth0: SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet at 0xd400, IRQ 5, 00:0a:e6:57:2a:31. could you send the output of lspcidrake -v Thomas --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. --- Reminder: --- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: UNCONFIRMED creation_date: description: As already reported in bug#: 2525 for ML9.1 RC1 this bug is still valid in ML 9.1 RC2.
