Re: [CnD] Is macaroni being made smaller?
There are different pasta shapes and sizes from A to Z. Do a Google search for Pasta Fits, or Pasta Shapes Dictionary. It has suggestions for use of each type. hth Jennifer On 10/18/15, Charles Rivard via Cookinginthedarkwrote: > What are some of the brands. [CnD] Looking for scalloped potatoes recipe
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has a recipe for scalloped potatoes in a creamy sauce, but one that isn't a creamy cheese sauce? We usually just buy boxes of them from the store, like in the Betty Crocker brand and such. And the ones we buy always say they're in a creamy sauce, but it never says it's a cheese sauce. I get sick if I eat cheese. Every home made recipe I looked up all uses cheese. I'd like to find a cheeseless one to try, if possible. Thank you for your help. Hello cooking in the dark family: You might have to buy a bag, rather than a box, and ask someone in the store if all of the macaroni is the same size. Re: [CnD] Is macaroni being made smaller?
I suspect folks are for some unknown reason not buying as much of the larger macaroni, so stores aren't carrying it as much. I remember macaroni in about five different sizes, ranging from very small to about the length and depth of the larger medium sized pasta shells. > -Original Message- > From: Abby Vincent via Cookinginthedark > [mailto:cookinginthedark@acbradio.org] > Sent: Sunday, October 18, 2015 2:17 PM > To: cookinginthedark@acbradio.org; reinhard.steb...@gmail.com; 'john > mcconnell' > Subject: Re: [CnD] Is macaroni being made smaller? > > This must be something that slipped by me while I got old.
