Re: [CnD] Pancakes for One what is wheat germ
Wheat germ is the reproductive part of the wheat kernel that germinates and forms the wheat grass. The germ accounts for a very small amount of the kernel, approximately 2.5 percent. It comes in jars and bags. It can be bought at any supermarket. Manufacturers remove wheat germ during general wheat kernel processing. They do this because it contains oils that will go rancid in wheat products over time. It has a lot of nutrition and can be added to recipes like muffins or to a bowl of cereal. ___ Cookinginthedark mailing list Cookinginthedark@acbradio.org http://acbradio.org/mailman/listinfo/cookinginthedark
