Horde may be showing you only folders that you've subscribed to. You
should find the option to subscribe to folders and add the ones that are
missing.

Can i check it online on my server, if everything is correct?

If you log in to a shell on the server, and ls -a Maildir, you'll see all
of the available folders. They begin with a '.' character.

[courier-users] Exchange and ARCHIVEDIR

2005-09-19 Thread Alan Milligan

Hi,

I was discussing with a colleague the possibility of using courierd to
journal all inbound/outbound email before relaying to Exchange for local
delivery.

Apparently LookOut does not allow for separate inbound/outbound mail
servers in it's IMAP configuration, which would mean we couldn't use
courier to send and thus journal outbound messages.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Do a 'ls -al' and you should see the folders you created. Courier names
these folders .FolderName and a leading period in a filename tells Unix
that it is a hidden file/folder.

Does any one have a wirking mailfilter file for this purpose ?

For xfilters, maildrop passes the entire message header/body to the
program on STDIN and expects the (possibly modified) message to be
returned on STDOUT. You'll need to figure out if pyzor has this
capability or find/create a script that does this.

So you can't just point the Exchange server(s) to relay all outbound

[courier-users] Anyone else having probs receiving email from Yahoo?

2005-09-19 Thread Bill Taroli
Ever since about September 14 or so, I have been having the strangest
behavior with a good deal of the email coming from yahoo.com. I suspect
it's a DNS issue, but I've not yet been able to reproduce one of the
problem cases manually. I'm seeing them in the log as entries like this:

Sep 19 13:59:02 jeff courieresmtpd: [ID 702911 mail.error]
error,relay=:::206.190.37.98,from=[EMAIL PROTECTED]: 517 HELO
web81409.mail.yahoo.com does not exist.

But, when I look this host up by name and IP (from the same box Courier
is running on) the lookups work fine (host/dig). I've purged my local
DNS cache, to be sure there is no trouble there, and my other email is
entirely unaffected by this. Though I am tempted to turn off HELO
checking altogether, I unfortunately know what kind of extra influx of
spam that will cause.

I'm hoping someone else has run up against this, or has ideas for things
I might check. I happen to be running 0.50 now, but have downloaded 0.52
to begin building today.

If the SPF check fails, the error message will indicate the rejected domain

Once EHLO/HELO is processed, there's really no benefit in logging this
further. It becomes totally and completely unimportant.

Your authmysqlrc file indicates that you are using an encrypted password.

pepe does not look like an encrypted password.

Your authmysqlrc file indicates that you're also using plaintext passwords,
but the relevant configuration setting has an extra whitespace that
effectively disables it.

You need to figure out whether you want to use plaintext or encrypted
passwords, set up the database accordingly, and fix authmysqlrc.

This may not be the only problem with your configuration. You should
carefully read the description of every setting in authmysqlrc, and verify
that it is properly initialized.

Sure thing. It's just that it's been running without incident for almost

either the client or an interaction between client and IMAP server.

[courier-users] Re: sending of mail slowed to a crawl

Mail logs are certainly not meaningless. They tell you exactly what

See the mail logs. They tell you everything.

 Look at the mail logs.
It's true that there is a lot of information in the mail logs, but at
 least one
piece of data is missing: the HELO/EHLO value. One can debate how
useful this information is, but since it's important enough for Courier's
SPF code to check, it seems to me that it's also important enough to
appear in the logs for us humans to see.
 Thoughts?

If the SPF check fails, the error message will indicate the rejected domain
(unless the sender's SPF rule specifies a custom error message).

Once EHLO/HELO is processed, there's really no benefit in logging this
further. It becomes totally and completely unimportant.

But what if someone doesn't want to use SPF but still wants to see the
HELO/EHLO value in the logs? Every other piece of information in the
SMTP dialog is there, why not HELO/EHLO?

Re: [courier-users] can somebody help me with authmysql?

2005-09-19 Thread Lucas Silvero
I have cleared the spaces, I had created the crypt password with perl
-le 'print crypt (pepe, ab);' I've uploaded abgp2PiFG9z0U into the
database. I've tried to run courierauthtest user [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
pass pepe and result was:

pcdebian:~# /usr/sbin/courierauthtest [EMAIL PROTECTED] pepe
Trying authdaemon...
Temporary authentication failure from module authdaemon
Authentication FAILED!
pcdebian:~#

tail -f /var/log/mail.err
Sep 19 08:00:17 pcdebian authdaemond.mysql: failed to connect to mysql
server (server=localhost., userid=postfix)

U've got any idea about what's going on?

Tks, Danke, Gracias.

This is not a valid crypted password.

MySQL's crypt() function is some MySQL-specific gobbledygook, that only
MySQL understands.

Use the authpasswd command to generate encrypted passwords.

[courier-users] spamassassin rules question

2005-09-19 Thread Brian S. Meehan
I checked out the URL at http://wiki.apache.org/spamassassin/WritingRules
and can't seem to get a rule to work in /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf

Here's what I've got so far:

header LOCAL_SPAM_SUBJECT_RULE Subject =~ /[SPAM]/i
score LOCAL_SPAM_SUBJECT_RULE 2.0
describe LOCAL_SPAM_SUBJECT_RULE This looks for the word spam in the subject

Checking the headers reveals that it didn't hit the rule. I even tried
restarting spamd.

Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Brian

[courier-users] Courier share and public folders

2005-09-19 Thread shyam s

Dear Group.

I am very new to courier. I am really got confused with, what is the difference between courier shared folder and public folder.

My problem is that I need one user account with a sharable folder, and this folder must have different
level of access control to differnt virtual users in the same virtual
domains, which I think I can set through by courier's acl.But I
can't acess shared.messages(suppose I want to share the folder
messages ) via my other user account.

What should I do to so.

Help really appreciated.

Thanks and Regards
Shyam

Good to know... and about that perl-generated password, mentioned above? ;-)

Use the authpasswd command to generate encrypted passwords.

Probably the direction to go in, anyway...

Many, some actually meaningful...
Have you tried this?
header LOCAL_SPAM_SUBJECT_RULE Subject =~ /\[SPAM\]/i
