Re: [css-d] Colors in PShop vs. browser
Hi, has anyone else experienced seeing colors somewhat differently in Photoshop vs. a web browser? Everything looks significantly darker in Photoshop. It certainly adds an unnecessary obstacle to the design process! Any tips on why this might be happening, and how to alleviate it? A good article on what, why and how to fix it here: http://www.gballard.net/psd/saveforwebshift.html Cheers, KathyW. __ css-discuss [cs...@lists.css-discuss.org] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ List policies -- http://css-discuss.org/policies.html Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/

If you have a browser that obeys color profiles, then it'll match, but most browsers don't have that support. so you need to save your photoshop image without a color profile. Matching will still depend on the visitor's monitor being calibrated, the visitor's system using the correct color profile for their monitor, their video adapter being perfectly set by the factory and still perfectly calibrated, plus the visitor's ambient light when they visit your page ... ;-) -- David gn...@hawaii.rr.com authenticity, honesty, community __ css-discuss [cs...@lists.css-discuss.org] http://www.css-discuss.org/mailman/listinfo/css-d List wiki/FAQ -- http://css-discuss.incutio.com/ List policies -- http://css-discuss.org/policies.html Supported by evolt.org -- http://www.evolt.org/help_support_evolt/

For web graphics your RGB profile should be set for the sRGB icc profile. And your graphics should be saved for web, not by using the 'Save As' option under the 'File' tab, but from teh 'Save for web and devices' dialog.
