I don't think that's related to the impeachment. Petroleum prices are not moved by many things. Supply, demand, war. National politics, even of the United States, is irrelevant. All major politicians in the advanced countries are pro oil. They have to be. The Republicans are the Big Oil party. Is it pure coincidence that the lowest gasoline prices ever recorded by the Dept. of Energy came at exactly the same time as the Senate trial? Yes, I believe it is. The world was awash in oil. It took a long time to pump the world market that full, and it takes a long time to dry it up. The producers of OPEC simply decided to cut back production because they weren't making much money, and were depleting their own sources. Is it pure coincidence that gas prices started increasing just 2 weeks after the Senate trial? See above. Remember that interest rates, which are controlled by the Federal Reserve, were also at 30 year lows at this same time. The two most important variables which greatly affect our national economy are: Interest Rates and Energy Prices. So both of these were at historic lows and the economy was booming as never before during Clinton's impeachment. So are you proposing that all those different countries in OPEC intentionaly lost money in order to save Clinton's sorry ass? If this is what you mean, then I don't buy it. A large percentage of Americans did not want to see Clinton removed from Office, fearing it might disturb "the good times". The President has almost nothing to do with the economy. If the economy is good they take credit for it. If it's not, they tell you the truth and shift the blame to a rival or an enemy. So it was easy for Congress to let Clinton off the hook with so many voters making money in a great stock market. Sorry, Congress didn't let him off the hook. The Senate did. Here's why. Even though they couldn't stand him they could not allow the removal of a President for something they all do because it could also happen to their guy when a Republican wins the office. The American Presidency is TOO EXPENSIVE to buy to let any group, even Congress, push out a particular elite's front man. The Senate did what the Founding Finaglers intended them to do. Protect the monopoly of the Rich over the government and maintain the status quo. Was all of this just Clinton's "good fortune"? Maybe so. Maybe so. Regards to All Nakano No it was not. The fix was in before the Senate trial started. Two days before the beginning of the Senate trial James Carville went to Israel to get the government there out of the hands of Netanyahu who was no longer playing ball with the NWO's plan for the Mid East, and into the hands of Labor who has always been an American puppet. Carville went to organize Barak's campaign. James ( the snake ) Carville is Clinton's # 1 strategist and spin doctor. There is NO WAY that Carville would have left Clinton to face a real trial. The fix was in and all the players knew it. The sham we saw on television was just for show so the stupid, stupid public could avoid the fact that the Corporate and Financial Elites are not bound by law or the Constitution. This had nothing to do with oil. Joshua2 A HREF="http://www.ctrl.org/"www.ctrl.org/A DECLARATION DISCLAIMER == CTRL is a discussion informational exchange list. Re: [CTRL] CLINTON AND GAS PRICES - A CURIOUS COINCIDENCE?
-Caveat Lector- A HREF="http://www.ctrl.org/" /A -Cui Bono?- I heard on CNN this AM (3-13-00) that the 'real' price of the most expensive gasoline would have been several years ago, costing around $2.60 a gallon in Y2K $$$, making today's (Y2K) $1.50 something a gallon relatively cheap. Notice also every President who gets into trouble with the Senate gets an oil problem. True, U.S. corporations may be involved in some of this shenanigans but it is likely that them furreners have a little to do with the prodding as well. The global families squabble. Buy small cars/carpool, support/demand public transportation, reduce the need for oil, and the myriad lessons we learned (but never applied) a quarter century ago can go a long way to making us a little more independent. This is the issue for the 21st Century, and we've still got 9.5 months to put the plans into effect before that century starts. In simple terms, this means they are counterfeit shares of public stock."/B P It should be clarified that the sale of counterfeit shares of a public corporation is illegal. And, when market operators, the specialist firms, do so to control prices, eventually those corporations will be bankrupted as the market operators are not about to buy back their bogus receipts at higher prices. Think about it, the whole Wall Street operation functions in this manner. Again, once the market operator sells bogus shares to restrain (manipulate) price motion, he puts himself and his co-conspirators profiting from secret omnibus accounts in a very profitable position. That is, when price is restrained below the balance of supply and demand, public buyers predominate and money pours in while more and more bogus receipts flood the market. Eventually, those corporations must be bankrupted as the market operator and his criminal cohorts are not about to buy back their bogus, counterfeit receipts. This has been the criminal operations of the Wall Street gang throughout history (Isaiah 10:13-14). Smile! P Now, if anyone believes that the White House, the Justice Department, the FBI, the SEC, etc. are protecting public interests ... think again. Ask yourself for example, why is the US Treasury "borrowing" paper fiat money from the private Federal Reserve? The bogus debt (based on "borrowed" paper money) created by accounting notations and printed by the US Treasury when paper receipts are needed would not exist if government were not protecting the thieves. Again, paying the Bankers a billion dollars a day for bogus interest for accounting notations is blatant thievery from the US Treasury and US Taxpayers.
