Yes I converted from nef to dng and did not keep the nef.
In my defense that happened many years ago when dng format first appeared
where I was new to digital imagery. Adobe made it sound good to me and
without much research I opted for the conversion.
I don't remember if I embedded the nef during conversion...how can I tell..?

Worth noting...I tried the Window version and got pretty well the same
results. My images still had that sepia tint to them but not as strong.

[darktable-user] DT Got Sick On Me

2020-05-15 Thread J. Verreault
Hi all,
Was trying to produce hdr yesterday but what I was getting after merging
was a hdr.dng that had a sepia tone to it. No matter what I used (Global
Toning or Filming rgb nothing happened).
Today I'm trying to experiment again but now the only hdr I can get is an
800kb or so file and error opening it (of course).

Please note that my dng files were nef before until I made the mistake of
switching format if relevant.
I'm using Manjaro OB Lysia.

If updated XMP files are found a menu opens for the user to decide which of

darktable's database.*

[darktable-user] Back to the Skulls...

Hey there,
Something weird is happening to my collection. I either get a stroke
through the folder(s) or If I go see a folder I get those skulls in from a
few images.

Now what is weird about it is that if I double-click on a skull the image
sometimes it will show sometimes I won't. I also waited a while to make
sure the program would read them.
And another thing is if I go to Rawtherapee ALL of my images show up no
matter where I go.
Now would there be some memory setting(s) I should do or...

All of that with dt3, Linux Mint 19.3 Mate on a Toshiba Satellite 8gigs Ram

2020-03-08 Thread J. Verreault
Hi all,
Am trying to redo the info on my pictures but it doesn't seem to be working.
I'm working from the latest Linux Mint w/Mate on a Toshiba Satellite 8gigs
ram blah blah blah...

Here's what I'm doing:

- Delete all .xmp files;
- Untag my pictures;
- Delete tags and branches;
- Chose all pictures (4000+);
- Change the metadata then Apply;
- Update exif on all (which takes a little while).

Once that's all done if I go click on any picture the old info is still
there.
I tried with only doing per folder but still the same result.

What am I doing wrong..?

Thanks for the help.

You don't know what you have until you need it.
