Bug#383744: bittorrent: btdownloadcurses fails with traceback

2006-08-19 Thread Marc Wilson
Package: bittorrent
Version: 3.4.2-8
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Googleing it makes it look like it might be a python 2.3 vs 2.4 problem,
but the default python version has been 2.4 for a while now, so...

Exception in thread Thread-2:

I can't find a combination of downgraded packages that makes it work
again. Debian's ever-so-nifty-and-impossible-to-understand Python
Policy and the infighting going on about it make it impossible for me to
work out whether it's bittorrent's problem or Python's.

Bug#375144: hal: Almost fixed, but not quite

2006-08-19 Thread Mike Hommey
Package: hal
Version: 0.5.7.1-1
Followup-For: Bug #375144

Well, it would have been safer to apply my patch instead of stealing
from upstream, because upstream decided that spicctrl is in /usr/sbin,
which is not the case on debian, thus the lcd-get/set-brightness scripts
are useless as they are now. Please change these paths so that it works
properly.

I've had the latest release of backup-manager running for a few days now, and I
thought I'd better check that all files are archived to CD appropriately. On a
close inspection I realised that the directory tree is burnt, but there are no
data files.

I also noticed that there is no *.master.tar.bz2 file burnt to the disk,
although there is one in the repository. Here are the listings of the
repository and the CD:

Hmm. Deleting the renegade .master.tar.gz seems to have fixed the problem. So
it seems that the file prevents proper uploading, but doesn't get
caught when deleting old archives.

Hope this helps.

Hello Sam,

Raul Miller [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:

 Package: wnpp

There's a bug more than a year old about a new upstream
version available for cipe, with no discussion from the maintainer
as to why this new version has not been incorporated. The
package should probably be orphaned, so that someone who
is more interested can maintain the package:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=264114

Also note that the last change to this package was in 2004,
and that there is a 4 year old important bug which has been
filed against the package, which has not been addressed
by the current maintainer, except to list it in a set of
 confirmed reports.

Do you agree with cipe being orphaned?

Cheers,

Bug#383747: Unexpected font change in libgd2, makes libgd-gd2-perl FTBFS and changes font visual aspect

2006-08-19 Thread Martín Ferrari
Package: libgd2
Version: 2.0.33-5
Severity: normal

Trying to resolve #379371, I found that libgd is to be blamed.
libgd-gd2-perl FTBFS since 2.0.33-5 because of
patches/1006_western_european_fonts.patch, since it changes completely
the fonts, and the aforementioned package is verifying that images are
generated exactly as expected. Also, it changes font style, from a
sans-serif font to a serif font in the case of gdfontl, and gdfontl
looks bigger than gdfontg, which should not happen.

I'd recommend for this patch to be removed.

Bug#379371: status

2006-08-19 Thread Martín Ferrari

I can confirm that this is not a libgd-gd2-perl problem, but a libgd2 problem.

The problem arises with a patch which changes all the font
definitions, generated by the maintainer with different fonts. THe
purpose of this patch was supposedly to change the font encoding,
which would also break things, but it also has a different style,
which makes the giant font look smaller than the large font. I have
already filed a bug against libgd (#383747), and I expect this one to
be closed when libgd is fixed.

This could also be fixed modifying the test*.png template files, to
match the new fonts, but I believe that the change in libgd is bad and
should be reverted.

On a side note, the warning about header files noted in the OP is
indeed a bug in GD, which fails to sanitize gcc output, and therefore
is not really checking correctly library clashes. I include here the
patch that fixes it.

By modifying /etc/cracklib/cracklib.conf, I was able
to narrow down the problem to the mueller7-mova
and mueller7accent-mova packages. Once I removed
these packages (and reran update-cracklib), the problem
 went away.

So why do you consider this a bug in libpam-cracklib, rather than a bug in
mueller7-mova/mueller7accent-mova? There seems to be a very clear error
message here, originating within cracklib, claiming that the dictionary is
corrupt. Why should this error message not be taken at face value?

i tested it with udev 0.093-1 from etch, and that seemed to work just
 fine.

thanks for all your work on initramfs-tools! :)
you may want to look at 383555, fixed klibc is on mentors.

oh, you might want to know i booted using:

 qemu -hda /dev/zero -m 100 -kernel /opt/ltsp/i386/boot/vmlinuz -initrd \
   /opt/ltsp/i386/boot/initrd.img \
   -nographic \
   -append 'nfsroot=10.0.2.2:/opt/ltsp/i386 root=/dev/nfs ip=dhcp
 console=ttyS0,38400'

hehe, that looks like a patched initramfs-tools? :)
btw i looked at your nfs patches they make have usage of busybox,
aka cut. i'd prefer the core to be klibc clean, so i couldn't
just merge them, need to check how it can be done with klibc-utils
only.

best regards

isn't that the latest udev regression, which udev version are you
running?

you need either latest klibc 1.4.19-2 from mentors (hope it will land
soon) or fix /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/udev
by using rm -rf instead of nuke. then rebuild initramfs:

Bug#383750: gcompris: uninstalable on libenumerate.so

Package: gcompris

Trying to update to 7.4-3.1, I get, in dselect :

Maybe this is the same as #381646, but as no symptom was described in
it, I prefer to file twice in any case. Merging may be necessary, then.

That is, it is indeed checking for an available /usr/bin/java... which
we have, because gij is installed by side-effect. But then, what is
 this failure on arm ?

Sorry, this seems to be something quite different from the bug I was
originally reporting on; I have no idea why these build scripts aren't able
to find a working java on the buildd.

The ssh package is a transitional package and replaced by

Bug#372719: regression in FreeType security fix for DSA-1095

I was tying to build -2.5 with no luck, then just started with -3.1 to
fix your invisible -3 build, and just no you've deciced to upload -4
which is also invisible to us and which most probably blocks -3.1 from
building - as I see -4 build logs. Thanks you very much.

Gee, thanks for swearing at me. How is it *my* fault that you can't see
builds that are being uploaded to the documented queue on
security.debian.org, and why did you not bother to let *me* know that
something had changed with the package when I'd previously been given
approval to upload? I'm sure I could've found something else to do with my
time tonight besides trying to help clean up after your broken DSA build.

Either way, I guess this bug is not my problem any more, since I apparently
can't contribute anything useful to fixing it and am not sure I would want
to if there was.

This makes the cds effectively useless on 32-bit sparc machines as teh

 iso9660 filesystem driver.

The latest daily builds also have the same problem.
I haven't tested the full images, it's possible they suffer from the
 same problem.

Shouldn't this be mentioned in the Errata for beta3?

corrupt. Why should this error message not be taken at face value?

I believe that you might be misinterpreting which
 dictionary is being referred to.

Not really; I've seen errors of this nature before, and they ended up being
fixed in the dictionaries responsible, not in libpam-cracklib.

Although I'm sure that there's something unusual
or even wrong in mueller7*, the update-cracklib script
should have reported it when making cracklib_dict.
Instead, the private cracklib dictionary gets
corrupted and no one is able to change their password.

Agreed, which means that it's still a problem with update-cracklib rather
than libpam-cracklib; reassigning to cracklib-runtime, which provides
update-cracklib.

Bug#383759: exim4-config: Fails to upgrade/install

When upgrading the exim4 packages I receive the following error:

I have purged them and tried a fresh install, but the error is the
same. Perhaps it is worth noting that this happens only on one of my
machines which is running Debian testing, and it is an old one (Cyrix
100 MHz). I am reporting this bug from another one (obviously!) and
changed the information below accordingly.

Bug#383756: strange FS problem

2006-08-19 Thread Olivier Berger
Hi.

It seems this problem has nothing to do with the package.

The package wouldn't uninstall either, so I checked the /usr/lib/rpm
directory, and it appears there was a filesystem problem obviously.

As i checked with ls -l I got something like :
?-?? /usr/lib/rpm

I removed it and next reboot, it was gone with a ext3-fs message...

So I suppose I got some broken dir/inodes in the way.

I suppose it may be closed, then.

Sorry for bothering.

Bug#383760: bash: XON/XOF flow control makes incremental search unusable

2006-08-19 Thread Jhair Tocancipa Triana
Package: bash
Version: 3.1-5
Severity: important

Situation:

1. xon/xoff flow control is enabled by default:

$ stty -a | grep ixon
-ignbrk -brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl ixon -ixoff

2. Ctrl-S makes the terminal block since it is the stop character and
ixon is enabled. I claim to block after Ctrl-S makes no sense for
interactive terminals. See man 3 termios and 3.

3. The bash man page says:

To find other matching entries in the history list, type Control-S
or Control-R as appropriate

Unfortunately with the current terminal settings this doesn't
work. The terminal blocks as described in 2.

4. Ctrl-Q resumes input to the terminal, as specified in man 3
   termios.

To summarize:

Some package (not sure if bash), should disable xon/xoff flow control
to avoid it to clash with functionality offered by other programs (in
this case bash).

I.e. the default should be:

$ stty -ixon
-ignbrk -brkint -ignpar -parmrk -inpck -istrip -inlcr -igncr icrnl -ixon -ixoff
   ^
With this setting bash shows after pressing Control-S:

Bug#383761: doesn't check if the image is an NRG file

2006-08-19 Thread Robert Millan
Package: nrg2iso
Version: 0.4-1.1
Severity: normal

It seems the only knowledge this program has of the NRG file format is that
the first 307200 bytes need to be skipped:

  fseek (nrgFile, 307200, SEEK_SET);

If you feed it a non-NRG file that is longer than 307200, it'll be parsed as
well.

Bug#383763: squid: New version Squid-2.6.STABLE3 release

2006-08-19 Thread Ralf Hildebrandt
Package: squid
Version: 2.6.2-1
Severity: minor

A new bugfix release is out. I reckon it would fix a few bug I saw on
the BTS:

The most important bug fixes in the Squid-2.6.STABLE3 release are:

- Several memory leaks corrected, some of which could result
  in denial of service conditions.
- Assertion failure related to Vary/ETag processing, which could
result in a denial of service condition.
- Delay pools now works again. Was broken in 2.6.STABLE1 and 2,
often allowing a lot more bandwidth than the configured limit.
- Requests could hang when using the cache_dir max-size option
- Now implements proper TCP fallback on truncated DNS response
solving interoperability issues with some DNS servers

tags 382607 patch

reassign -1 pike7.6
found -1 7.6.24
notfound -1 7.6.87
thanks

(some bts-fu to reflect the bug exists in both versions of pike)

executive summary for security team: not escaping query strings
can possibly result in SQL injection for apps that use pike+postgresql.

i've developed a patch which cleanly applies to both the 7.2 and 7.6
branches that exist in sarge. however, looking more closely at
what the patch actually *does*, it seems that it does nothing
but provide a new function which can do the escaping of query strings.

(patch attached)

therefore, i'm not sure that this is even really a valid security issue
worth an update, at least by itself. unless this function is somehow
automatically invoked when code uses the postgres module, it has no
effect on any application that uses pike/postgres, and thus has no
improvement on security apart from offering pike developers in sarge
access to the function in question.

so, i propose that either (a) in addition to supplying the fix we audit
all pike+postgres apps using postgresql, or (b) consider dropping the
issue entirely.

okay, i just did (a), and it doesn't look like there are any
pike+postgres apps in the archive for sarge at all. so given that,
what say you security team?

ps - fwiw pike seems to FTBFS for me in sarge right now, so i don't have

minor changes it could apply to kernel-source-2.4.27).

Bug#383767: aptitude: segmentation fault when trying to installed pinned package

2006-08-19 Thread The Anarcat
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.2-1
Severity: normal

I use apt-pinning to have sid available in my etch install:

tangerine:/etc# cat /etc/apt/preferences ; echo
Package: *
Pin: release unstable
Pin-Priority: -1

The sid packages appear in the aptitude listing, but their available
version appears as none. This is a bit weird, but usually, this
allowed me to install sid packages on the fly using aptitude without
having to explicitely enable them in apt_preferences. I hit enter on
the package line, and there I see the package version from sid on which
i can hit + to tell aptitude to install.

The commandline equivalent to that is:

aptitude install foo/sid

(for package foo).

So now my problem is this:

tangerine:/etc# aptitude install linux-image-2.6.17-2-686/unstable

I can recompile with debugging symbols if necessary.

Apt-get deals with this properly and installs my package without a
groan, and I clearly remember aptitude being able to deal with this in
the past, either in previous sarge versions or etch, although
pinpointing the exact version number could be hard.

Thanks,

But this card runs without any problems with the i810 xorg driver
from debian unstable. I'm using discover to detect the graphics
card during bootup and would be happy, if discover is able to detect
 it correctly.

Right. I assume you reported this bug from the machine in question,
and that this is the PCI device in question (from your lspci list):

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82915G/GV/910GL

I am a bit confused by the fact that the debconf settings claim ati is
used:

 xserver-xorg xserver-xorg/config/device/driver select ati

I've updated the entry in svn for this card to use i810 instead of
vesa. It will be included in the next upload of the package.

I think we should remove x-symbol.

  * Orphaned for 7 months.
  * 1 RC bug, 20 bugs total.
  * Last upload in 2002.
  * Last upstream release on May 12, 2003:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/x-symbol/x-symbol-4.51-src.tar.gz
  * Already removed from testing.
  * popcon: 89 installs, 0 votes (but the latter count doesn't reflect
usage since emacsen normally access the bytecompiled form rather
than the source).

Yes.

I am a bit confused by the fact that the debconf settings claim ati is

All Linux computers at our Institute are installed using a chroot-Image and
rsync. The server has an ati card installed and I'm using the following
script to update the xorg.conf during each bootup:

XFCONF=/etc/X11/xorg.conf
DRIVER=$(discover --data-path=xfree86/server/device/driver display | sort -u)

This also happens with a non UTF-8 locale, looks like #383670 and
 #383669 are the same problem.

I can not reproduce it with slrn 0.9.8.1pl1-21 or with LANG=C or
LANG=de_DE. Maybe the glibc message above is not the reason for the
abort.

Schönes Wochenende, Jörg.

Bug#378667: XPCOM glue

2006-08-19 Thread Mike Hommey
On Thu, Aug 17, 2006 at 12:18:21AM +0200, Marc Gueury [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:
 Hi Mike,

I would like so much that what you say would be true. It would
ease my life a lot. The problem is that I was not doing it before
and I had to recompile the extension for each version of Firefox
for each platform to let it work...

The reason is that when you link with xpcom_glue. You link only with frozen
interface that have to match in each version of the library. Between
version other xpcom functions have changed of signature. So, it is not
 possible
 to link against XPCOM.

If you are able to show me the opposite. I am opened to listen.
But I have already tried and it does not unhappily work :-)

 Please read this:

 http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/XPCOM_Glue

As usual, they have a tendency to give bad solutions to problems they
could have avoided in the first place. Anyway...

On the page you quote, I read:
Embedding code which wishes to use only frozen symbols and cannot
  tolerate a load-time dependency on xpcom.dll should #define XPCOM_GLUE
while compiling, and link against xpcomglue.lib. It should not link
  against xpcomglue_s.lib or xpcom.lib.

So let me see...
In your source, I read in mozilla/extensions/tidy/src/Makefile.in:
DEFINES += -DXPCOM_GLUE
EXTRA_DSO_LDOPTS = \
$(DIST)/lib/$(LIB_PREFIX)xpcomglue.$(LIB_SUFFIX) \
(...)

Ok. That's what you do.

Further reading:
In order to use XPCOM, the embedding application first needs to find
where the XPCOM runtime is located. This is typically done using
GRE_GetGREPathWithProperties. Then, the code must call XPCOMGlueStartup,
which will dynamically link against the XPCOM runtime. Only then can the
embedding application initialize and use XPCOM.

I see no XPCOMGlueStartup in your code...

Let's continue to read:
This linkage strategy is used when an embedder needs to bootstrap an
embedding app by finding a compatible GRE. Extension or XULRunner
application components should use the dependent glue.

Ah ? Extensions should use the dependent glue, but what is it:
Code which wishes to use only frozen symbols but can tolerate a
load-time dependency on xpcom.dll should link against xpcom.lib and
  xpcomglue_s.lib.

This is exactly what you should be doing, especially considering the
following sentence:

This is the case for XPCOM components.

Guess what, that's exactly what the nsTidyModule is: a XPCOM component.

Either way (dependent or standalone glue), you're not doing what you're
supposed to. Either you have to add initialization code for the
standalone glue, so that it loads the xpcom library, either you link
against the dependent glue. The fact that it works as is with official
builds is a corner case.

Anyways, since it seems that quite some extensions are built this way,
we'll have to put some workaround. I only need to decide what kind of
workaround exactly should be put. In the meanwhile, people can add
export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/firefox/libxpcom.so
in their $HOME/.mozilla/firefox/rc or in /etc/firefox/firefoxrc

Hard to say, since Piotr and I have no deadline... :)

I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you mean, you and Piotr only work on
this with low priority, I cannot say anything except a pity :)

If you mean, you don't know the deadline to get it into etch, I can help:

According to
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/08/msg5.html the final
build for d-i will be on October the 18th. So, your deadline is in two or
three weeks I would say (if your changes are non-intrusive...), so that we
have time for testing and integrating.

So, to summarize: be quick, if you want this in etch. I'm happy to assist in
testing, writing documentation and commiting tested stuff to the svn (in
cooperation with Frans.)

And kudos for your efforts to free miboot and make it work on harddrives!

I didn't make that as clear as I wanted to in my last email -- but you could
just compare the package build of RQuantLib on stable (where it should be few
minutes) to testing (where it will be at least twice that). Not that much
code in Quantlib or RQuantLib and you should get a quick feeling for how much
g++ changed.

Bug#383769: mutt: score address pattern does not match personal name

2006-08-19 Thread Kornilios Kourtis
Package: mutt
Version: 1.5.13-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

Currently the score pattern matching for addresses matches only the
e-mail and not the name.

For example for a message with:
From: Foo Foobar [EMAIL PROTECTED]
The score pattern '~f Foo' will be checked against [EMAIL PROTECTED] and not
'Foo Foobar' and thus will not match.

In other cases (limit, search) both the e-mail and the name are checked.

This seems to fix the problem:

The server has an ati card installed and I'm using the following
script to update the xorg.conf during each bootup:

Right. Did you have a look at the xdebconfigurator package? It will
set the debconf values and regenerate the X config file. It can also
be set to do this at boot using a flag in /etc/default/. It is
written to do the kind of things you are doing.

Hence, the debconf entry is not valid for most computers.

Bug#383770: cmdline parser failure with a=b.swf

2006-08-19 Thread Robert Millan
Package: gnash
Version: 0.7.1-1+rmh
Severity: normal
Tags: patch upstream

The command-line parser refuses to add files of the form a=b.swf, because
they collide with variable assignment feature:

// get the file name from the command line
while (optind  argc) {
// Some options set variables, like ip=127.0.0.1
if (strchr(argv[optind], '=')) {
dbglogfile  Got variable option on command line!  endl;
} else {
infiles.push_back(argv[optind]);
}
optind++;
}

However, these files are pretty common. Think of, say,
/tmp/fetch.php?file=animation.swf. This file will be generated by the
browser/plugin but when gnash is invoked it won't play it.

According to upstream, it's safe to remove this strchr check:

  http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitemitem_id=17467

So this is what attached patch does.

Bug#383771: abcde freezes if there are some GREP_OPTIONS defined

2006-08-19 Thread Sebastien Blondeel
Package: abcde
Version: 2.3.99.6-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

*** Please type your report below this line ***

With the environment variable
GREP_OPTIONS=--color=auto -n

(the real problem is the -n),

set,

the line 1771
-=-=-=
TRACKS=$(echo $CDPARANOIAOUTPUT | egrep '^[[:space:]]+[[:digit:]]' | tail -n
1 | get_first | tr -d . | tr '\n' ' ')
-=-=-=

outputs a line number followed by : instead of the number of the last
track.

Therefore the line 1797
-=-=-=
TRACKS=$(printf %0.${TRACKNUMPADDING}d $TRACKS)
-=-=-=

produces an error message:

-=-=-=
/usr/bin/abcde: line 1797: printf: 28:: invalid number
-=-=-=

and later the line 3785:
-=-=-=
FIRSTTRACK=$( get_first $TRACKQUEUE )
-=-=-=

freezes.

Solution/Patch: unset GREP_OPTIONS (and GREP_COLORS to be sure) in the
beginning of the abcde script.

This violates section 2.2.1 of the Debian policy (`thus, the package
must not declare a Depends, Recommends, or Build-Depends
relationship on a non-main package'). Therefore it should be
 serious, not important, right?

In principle yes, but the release team has decided otherwise...

Bug#378088: new control file: clilibs

Did this replace netlibs, or is netlibs still also of interest? I seem to
recall that CLI and .NET are two different ways of talking about the same
 general set of technology.

Yes, it replaces netlibs. netlibs is not used by any current package
anymore and clilibs was chosen because it describes the technology used
better.

There was a previous bug filed about netlibs (Bug#255090) was that this
should get into Policy first and then into lintian. I'm not sure if we
need to be that strict, but I do want to see a real policy and
 specification.

 This:

For more information on that file look here[1].

is a good start, but contains little of use in actually verifying the
contents of the control file. At least a syntax specification would seem
 to be in order here.

Ok, I'll add it there next week. So let's leave this bug open until the
cli policy became part of the policy, ok? :)

Is the intention for cli-policy to eventually become a subpolicy of the
 main Debian Policy manual?

Yes, that's the plan.

Hard to say, since Piotr and I have no deadline... :)

I'm not sure what you mean by this. If you mean, you and Piotr only work on
this with low priority, I cannot say anything except a pity :)

I did not mean it is low priority. ;) I meant we are not paid
Canonical employees to do a job following a timeline. Piotr seems
to work on miBoot on week-ends and nights (an all-nighter actually,
it seems...) when he feels like it and I am a bit the same... It is
enjoyable work after all, though it seems I have currently more time
than him. Therefore, be assured it will be done, but I cannot guaranty
that it will be ready for Etch.

And frankly, come one... miBoot is 10 years old inactive software,
so I think there is no hurry. On a side note, I am also fscked up in
NM without even starting, because someone in the Front Desk seems to
dislike me, even though I maintain 11 packages in Debian, so there
is really no hurry...

If you mean, you don't know the deadline to get it into etch, I can help:

 According to
 http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2006/08/msg5.html the final
build for d-i will be on October the 18th. So, your deadline is in two or
three weeks I would say (if your changes are non-intrusive...), so that we
have time for testing and integrating.

It is really not enough time... :(

So, to summarize: be quick, if you want this in etch. I'm happy to assist in
testing, writing documentation and commiting tested stuff to the svn (in
 cooperation with Frans.)

I asked Christian Perrier to add my account to the d-i Alioth project
to work on miboot targets and miboot-installer. I am still waiting
for an answer, but I know Christian has a family to run in the
week-end... ;)

I am also really afraid to interact with Frans, because I would rather
not be treated as dipshit like Sven was. :(

And kudos for your efforts to free miboot and make it work on harddrives!

Thanks and cheers,

Illegal Instruction? That sounds like a compiler issue with your exim
 binary.

 Can you please try this:

 # /usr/sbin/exim4 -C /dev/null -bV
Illegal instruction

This is the whole output (exim4-daemon-heavy 4.62-4).

Bug#383730: initramfs-tools: incompatible with udev 0.097-1

2006-08-19 Thread Ben Hay

udevd[769]: lookup_group: error resolving group 'disk': No such file or
directory
udevd[769]: lookup_group: error resolving group 'floppy': Illegal seek
udevd[769]: lookup_group: error resolving group 'cdrom': Illegal seek
udevd[769]: lookup_group: error resolving group 'tape': Illegal seek

those are harmless.

I am getting the same thing. Furthermore X fails to start, reporting that it
cannot find the mouse at /dev/input/mice.

I then have to restart udev, unplug the mouse(usb) and plug it in again, and
/etc/init.d/ kdm restart
This gets me into X, however the audio device is also not found, so no sound.

Bug#367221: my last report

2006-08-19 Thread Stefan Huebner
Sorry, the complete mail should have said, that...

after upgrading from quodlibet 0.21.1-1 I experienced the same problem. After
some research though, I was able to fix the issue by upgrading python-gst0.10
from 0.10.2-.. to 0.10.4-4.

don't know, why reportbugs dumped that part of the mail. Hope, this clarifies
my report slightly.

Regards,
Stefan

Bug#239590: gworldclock goes haywire when removing a timezone

2006-08-19 Thread Drew Parsons
Hi Anand,

gworldclock seems to be behaving as expected right now (1.4.4-3) with
respect to deleting timezones. No haywires. Either I fixed it between
1.3 and 1.4 without realising, or the bug was in gtk not gworldclock and
is now fixed.

Can you confirm you're happy with the way zones are deleted, and I'll
close this bug.

Thanks,

Drew

not enter testing.

Bug#383636: Missing dependency xterm

2006-08-19 Thread Daniel Schepler
severity 383636 normal
tags 383636 + moreinfo

On Friday 18 August 2006 13:27 pm, Magnus Ekdahl wrote:
 Package: ddd

DDD requires xterm for diplaying stdout from the program debugged.

It doesn't require it on my system -- by default, it just shows stdout in the
debugger output at the bottom, which for a lot of programs is good enough,
and I need to select View / Execution Window to get a separate xterm. And
accordingly, xterm is already in the Suggests list of the package. In
fact, I just tried uninstalling xterm temporarily, and ddd ran just fine,
except that it hung when trying to show an execution window (which is a bug
to do this instead of showing a useful error message...).

So I'm wondering what's different on your system that prompted you to file a
bug at severity serious, which I can't tell from your bug report.

Bug#358482: RM: arla -- RoQA; orphaned, RC-buggy, OpenAFS is an alternative

2006-08-19 Thread Matej Vela
retitle 358482 RM: arla -- RoQA; orphaned, RC-buggy, OpenAFS is an alternative
reassign 358482 ftp.debian.org
thanks

I think we should remove arla.

  * Orphaned for 5 months.
  * 5 RC bugs, 16 bugs total.
  * openafs-client et al. provide equivalent functionality; most of
the differences seem to be behind the scenes. See discussion at:
http://www.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-info/2005-December/020470.html
http://www.openafs.org/pipermail/openafs-info/2005-December/020655.html
  * Already removed from testing.
  * popcon: 218 installs, 191 votes.

Thanks,

Matej
