Package: meld Version: 1.2.1-1 Severity: normal -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi, When I use CTRL+D or CTRL+E to scroll up and down in the right pane while diffing files with meld, the cursor remains where it originally was and doesn't move to where the diff is. Bug#520482: postgrey: General update after the debconf review process
Dear Debian maintainer, On Friday, March 06, 2009, I sent you a notification about the beginning of a review action on debconf templates for postgrey. Then, I sent you a bug report with rewritten templates and announcing the beginning of the second phase of this action: call for translation updates. Translators have been working hard and here is now the result of their efforts. Please consider using it EVEN if you committed files to your development tree as long as they were reported. The attached tarball contains: - debian/changelog with the list of changes - debian/control with rewrites of packages' descriptions - debian/templates with all the rewritten templates file(s) - debian/po/*.po with all PO files (existing ones and new ones) As said, please use *at least* the PO files as provided here, preferrably over those sent by translators in their bug reports. All of them have been checked and reformatted. In some cases, formatting errors have been corrected. The patch.rfr file contains a patch for the templates and control file(s) alone. Please note that this patch applies to the templates and control file(s) of your package as of Friday, March 06, 2009. If your package was updated in the meantime, I may have updated my reference copybut I also may have missed that. This is indeed why I suggested you do not modified such files while the review process was running, remember..:-) It is now safe to upload a new package version with these changes. Please notify me of your intents with regards to this. There is of course no hurry to update your package but feel free to contact me in case you would need sponsoring or any other action to fix this. -- patch.tar.gz Description: Binary data --- postgrey.old/debian/postgrey.templates 2009-03-02 09:00:55.683431768 +0100 +++ postgrey/debian/postgrey.templates 2009-03-26 07:18:02.525860837 +0100 @@ -1,6 +1,17 @@ +# These templates have been reviewed by the debian-l10n-english +# team +# +# If modifications/additions/rewording are needed, please ask +# debian-l10n-engl...@lists.debian.org for advice. +# +# Even minor modifications require translation updates and such +# changes should be coordinated with translators and reviewers. + Template: postgrey/1.32-3_changeport -Type: note +Type: error _Description: Default TCP port change - Postgrey is now listening to port 10023 and not 6. Bug#523573: clamav: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review
Package: clamav Version: N/A Severity: normal Tags: patch Dear Debian maintainer, On Thursday, March 26, 2009, I notified you of the beginning of a review process concerning debconf templates for clamav. The debian-l10n-english contributors have now reviewed these templates, and the proposed changes are attached to this bug report. Please review the suggested changes, and if you have any objections, let me know in the next 3 days. However, please try to avoid uploading clamav with these changes right now. The second phase of this process will begin on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, when I will coordinate updates to translations of debconf templates. The existing translators will be notified of the changes: they will receive an updated PO file for their language. Simultaneously, a general call for new translations will be sent to the debian-i18n mailing list. Both these calls for translations will request updates to be sent as individual bug reports. That will probably trigger a lot of bug reports against your package, but these should be easier to deal with. The call for translation updates and new translations will run until about Tuesday, May 05, 2009. Please avoid uploading a package with fixed or changed debconf templates and/or translation updates in the meantime. Of course, other changes are safe. Please note that this is an approximative delay, which depends on my own availability to process this work and is influenced by the fact that I simultaneously work on many packages. Around Wednesday, May 06, 2009, I will contact you again and will send a final patch summarizing all the updates (changes to debconf templates, updates to debconf translations and new debconf translations). Again, thanks for your attention and cooperation. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.28-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash --- clamav.old/debian/clamav-milter.templates 2009-03-26 19:12:49.816449140 +0100 +++ clamav/debian/clamav-milter.templates 2009-04-11 09:03:18.482051647 +0200 @@ -1,26 +1,33 @@ +# These templates have been reviewed by the debian-l10n-english +# team +# +# If modifications/additions/rewording are needed, please ask +# debian-l10n-engl...@lists.debian.org for advice. +# +# Even minor modifications require translation updates and such +# changes should be coordinated with translators and reviewers. + Template: clamav-milter/debconf Type: boolean Default: true _Description: Handle the configuration file automatically? Bug#523578: [xserver-xorg-video-intel] UXA crashes Xorg when logging out of KDE
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.6.3-1 Severity: important With UXA enabled, I'm having problems when logging out of KDE (I haven't tried this with GNOME/XFCE + GDM). If I'm lucky, it drops me down to a console, and I can just restart X and KDE again. Bug#523577: libtool conflicts and missing depends
Package: libtool Version: 2.2.6a-4 After upgrading libtool in current sid/unstable it dies with the error: libtoolize: `argz_.h' not found in `/usr/share/libtool/libltdl' This is resolved by removing the libltdl3-dev package and installing the recommended libltdl-dev. On a clean install libtoolize still fails to work: libtoolize: `ltdl.m4' not found in `/usr/share/aclocal' when libltdl-dev is not also installed. I believe the relationship should be a libtool requires libltdl-dev instead of recommends. The existing relations between libltdl-dev and libltdl3-dev will take care of the libtool conflict once libtool is made to require libltdl-dev. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#523573: clamav: [debconf_rewrite] Debconf templates and debian/control review
Quoting Christian Perrier (bubu...@debian.org): Package: clamav Version: N/A Severity: normal Tags: patch Dear Debian maintainer, On Thursday, March 26, 2009, I notified you of the beginning of a review process concerning debconf templates for clamav. Actually, we didn't talk about this and I originally even didn't plan to do a formal bug report as these templates are not *currently* in the package. However, the bug report is one step of my standardized review process so I finally decided to go the usual way. The templates include S. Gran's last comments. Please confirm that everything is OK before I laucnh the formal call for translations (this is part of the process, which is why I propose handling it for you guys). signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Could you check if hal reports 2 wlan devices with the same interface. (this can sometimes happen, when udev is restarted, so you might try to reboot and see if this problems goes away). Second issue is not a problem of NetworkManager either, as it takes those name from hal, which afaik gets it from the pciutils database. (you might start checking with lspci and then lshal). I'm currently affected by this bug too. I have broadcom 4328 (airport) with ndiswrapper and hal reports the card twice: also, FWIW restarting hal fixes the problem. Though I don't know what is causing it, I'm suspecting suspend to ram. filippo -- Filippo Giunchedi - http://esaurito.net - 0x6B79D401 Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts. -- Daniel Patrick Moynihan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#521617: libnss-ldapd: tls_reqcert never doesn't work
Sorry to not reply sooner. On Sat, 2009-03-28 at 16:57 -0700, Jamie Heilman wrote: With 0.6.7 if I have tls_reqcert never in /etc/ldap/ldap.conf then nslcd can connect to my ldap servers (which unfortunately have certificate problems and are outside of my administrative control) and things work quite happily. The switch to 0.6.8 broke this capability (almost surely the clean the environment and set LDAPNOINIT change is responsible), even when I put tls_reqcert never in my /etc/nss-ldapd.conf, which notably hasn't been well tested according to the warning messages. Could you give me an summary of /etc/ldap/ldap.conf and /etc/nss-ldapd.conf? That would make it easier to track this down. Without tls_reqcert never in /etc/nss-ldapd.conf I just got this: Mar 28 03:39:41 deadhour nslcd[11653]: [6c6125] failed to bind to LDAP server ldaps://id.sea/: Can't contact LDAP server: Operation now in progress [...] While I'm not surprised it couldn't establish the connection due to not being able to verify the certs, the error message could stand to be more informative. The problem is that I've no idea how to get better error messages out of the OpenLDAP library. Can't contact LDAP server is what I get from OpenLDAP and Operation now in progress is what I get from errno (which may or may not be useful). Running nslcd in debug mode (nslcd -d) could give more details in some situations. After adding tls_reqcert never to /etc/nss-ldapd.conf the messages changed slightly to: Mar 28 03:41:02 deadhour nslcd[7158]: [8b4567] failed to bind to LDAP server ldaps://id.sea/: Can't contact LDAP server: No such file or directory [...] Could you include the output of nslcd -d here? The two identical monitors work fine in clone mode but the following command results in a black screen on DVI-1 (the monitor goes to standby mode it seems) while the display on DVI-0 is changed as expected. xrandr --output DVI-1 --left-of DVI-0 At this stage, switching to the console (CTRL+ALT+F1) behave as expected (both monitors display the same text) but switching back to X11 (CTRL+ALT+F7) restores the same situation (i.e. DVI-1 is black and DVI-0 displays the right half of the background image). I had no success tweaking xorg.conf to get the dualhead output either so only the clone mode works. -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/x11/X.roster: xserver-xorg /var/lib/x11/X.md5sum does not exist. Bug#431402: Patch for this bug
tags 431402 patch Hi, Indeed it seems weird to offer the possibility to choose a non-existant package or uninstalled package for installed packages on your system. Here is a patch to solve this issue. But I suspect the main issue could be triggered by the fact that dpkg -l ping returns a line, maybe an old package which doesn't exist anymore, I'm not sure. It could explain that reportbug doesn't ask to search ping command inside existing packages, what it should do if no ping package can be found. Regards, Carl Chenet --- reportbug.ori 2009-04-11 11:24:11.0 +0200 +++ reportbug 2009-04-11 11:25:39.0 +0200 @@ -1200,10 +1200,9 @@ 'Exit without filing a report.', False): efail(Package not installed; stopping.\n) elif (len(packages) 1) or (packages[0][0] != package): -this_package = [(package, 'Uninstalled/non-existent package')] packages.sort() package = ui.menu('Which of the following installed packages ' - 'is the bug in?', packages + this_package, + 'is the bug in?', packages, 'Select one of these packages: ', empty_ok=True) if not package:

Bug#519155: real pain now with 2.6.3 in unstable
Sven Hoexter wrote: Hi, now with 2.6.3 in unstable this is a real pain. With XAA the xserver crashes and without it starts but hangs completly. XAA isn't really supported anymore. The intel guys even want to drop EXA in the near future... Just remove the XAA line in xorg.conf and let the driver try EXA. I tried it now with an empty xorg.conf and it hangs aswell. Bug#523594: recent udevinfo returns version differently - no awk required
Package: laptop-mode-tools Version: 1.47-1 Severity: important Tags: patch Hello, this is what udevinfo is returning for me: $ udevinfo -V the program '/bin/bash' called 'udevinfo', it should use 'udevadm info options', this will stop working in a future release 140 The warning goes to stderr, hence $ VERSION=`udevinfo -V` the program '/bin/bash' called 'udevinfo', it should use 'udevadm info options', this will stop working in a future release $ echo $VERSION 140 Any awk magic that is applied to parse out the version number, as it is done in the current versio it is, is consequently rather desastrous, the VERSION variable is then empty. Bug#523093: undetermined copyright/license violation

After having a look at the issue I saw that those file actually have a reference to the AUTHORS file, which seems to be the place in TomBoy where the copyright for all those files is declared. This was added recently, see: http://gitorious.org/projects/gnote/repos/mainline/commits/3a41801b8672333b199ffb14c12367be952745e9 didn't make it to the package I uploaded, though. I personally would guess probably fulfills the letter of law and license (but it is really only a guess at this point). I'm a bit unsure though why it was chosen to refer to the AUTHORS file instead of just including the copyright statement in the file right next to the new one, which would probably have avoided this whole discussion. I think this is because for each given file, not every person listed in AUTHORS has participated in it, so one can only guess (or track down each contribution for each file). Asserting copyright for more people than actually wrote code is somewhat dangerous, so this looks like a way to err on the safe side. So pending a thorough review and without having seen the debian/copyright file, I currently see no reason not to allow this in Debian. I don't think that it contains any blatant lies about the copyright status of the work, even though I have the feeling it tries to avoid giving credit to the original authors any more than necessary. But that is a social issue and not a legal one. I arranged debian/copyright to make it clear authorship copyright are shared with the original authors. If you consider it necessary that this clarification extends to upstream code, just let me know. Although it can be a PITA because upstream doesn't want to be bothered about this. -- Robert Millan The DRM opt-in fallacy: Your data belongs to us. Usage: winedbg [ [ --gdb ] [ prog-name [ prog-args ] | num | file.mdmp | --help ] I have attached the debdiff (modified to apply to the current package in Debian) to this message. I have also attached a test case to demonstrate that the patch works. If you have the patched mingw32 package installed then you can simply run 'make' and then run both of the generated exe files under wine. Without the patched package, you can only build the static exe with 'make main-static.exe'. Similarly, when using display on an image larger than the screen size, the Pan Icon window appears, but the actual window used by display is the size of the image. Older versions were only displaying the biggest window that would fit into the screen and let the user navigate on the image using the Pan Icon view. Downgrading to 7:6.3.7.9.dfsg2-1+b1 fixes the problem. I'm at your disposal for any further information you would need. Bug#523610: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd: exa and xaa acceleration cause unstable DVD playback
Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd Version: 1.2.5-1 Severity: wishlist I have an ASUS M3A78 Pro motherboard with built-in Radeon 3200 HD (RS780 GPU) which I am hoping to use for video playback. At present I a using the VGA output and have found that the default acceleration takes the majority of the CPU cycles, and that using either exa or xaa acceleration results in unstable video output using gxine and loss of audio/video synchronisation in mplayer. I could probably achieve better results with an older Radeon graphics card but such cards are no longer available new. I am happy to compile and test new versions of the radeonhd code. -- Package-specific info: Contents of /var/lib/x11/X.roster: xserver-xorg /var/lib/x11/X.md5sum does not exist.
