Bug#557197: schroot -b doesn't work for chroots with type=block-device

2009-11-20 Thread Evan Broder
Package: schroot
Version: 1.3.1-1
Severity: important

If I use schroot -b to create a session of a chroot with
type=block-device, I get a valid chroot session name back, and the
chroot is setup, but it's not recorded in /var/lib/schroot/session,
and I can't then later run it.

Bug#557170: Qwt.so: undefined symbol: _ZTI15QwtPlotRescaler

2009-11-20 Thread Gudjon I. Gudjonsson
Hi Bayle
Please upgrade libqwt5-qt4 to version 5.2 and the problem will be fixed.
If you don't want to do that, you can rebuild the package against your
libqwt5-qt4 version. I will tighten the dependencies in the package.

Regards
Gudjon

The file itself cant be removed as it is included in the orig tarball
it would seem a good idea to move the debian packaging out of the orig tarball

Bug#516210: black screen after Lenny install

2009-11-20 Thread Jeff Abrahamson
Package: xserver-xorg-video-radeonhd
Version: 1.2.5-1
Severity: normal

Same problem, additional info.

My system broke on dist-upgrade from (what's now stable) to (what's
now testing). Same breakage: all works except X. I had been using
the proprietary ati driver. I've attached the original config
(xorg.conf.ati), fwiw.

The relevant portion of lspci is this:

02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV535 [Radeon X1650
Series] (rev 9e)
02:00.1 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV535 [Radeon X1650 Series]
(rev 9e)

Running Xorg -config generates a very generic config that doesn't seem
to have noticed my particular hardware. Running X using that config
(xorg.conf.new, attached) fails and returns me to the tty.

Running X using a hand-crafted xorg.conf (attached) based on the old
xorg.conf blanks screens, the screens claim no signal, and I have to
ssh into the box to reboot. On ssh'ing in, it appears that there is
no X-related process running, the screens just have no signal. At
console, though, alt-F* and ctrl-alt-F* don't switch me back to a tty.
Ctrl-alt-(bs|del) does not reboot, either.

The old proprietary drivers that worked in stable stopped working on
the upgrade, which is why I thought to try the radeonhd driver.

I'd be very happy to get dual screen 1920 x 1200 back but with open
source, but I'm not sure what to try next. Pointers appreciated.

Thanks.

Description : GNU R Medication Adherence: Commonly Used Definitions

Adherence is defined as the extent to which a person's behavior
coincides with medical or health advice, which is very important, for
both clinical researchers and physicians, to identify the treatment
 effect of a specific medication(s).
 .
A variety of measures have been developed to calculate the medication
adherence. Definitions and methods to address adherence differ greatly
in public literature. Choosing which definition should be determined by
overall study goals. This package provides the functions to calculate
medication adherence based on commonly used definitions.

Remark: I'll maintain this package in the Debian Med team.

Bug#556929: kernel-package now severely broken

I think there is a mismatch between our expectations; I expect
people compiling kernels to be aware of their configuration, and to
have set the configuration according to their desires. In this case,
a dom0 image is being asked for; and you are hitting a flux in
  kernel-package's treatment of XEN images.

This is not encountered with the standard (that is, make
  defconfig) configurations.

I repeat, I am not doing anything non-standard:

$ cp /boot/config-2.6.31-1-amd64 .config
$ make-kpkg --initrd --revision=custom.1.2 kernel_image

*I* did not ask for XEN, this is part of the debian stock
kernel image configuration.

*I* did not instruct grub2 not to ignore vmlinux, my grub2
configuration was installed as standard.

Until the recent change, I had never seen vmlinux,
and therefore there was no problem. Why was the decision made
to now produce this? Also, I can find no mention of
make defconfig in /usr/share/doc/kernel-package/README.gz
so please do not moralize me and recognize that there IS a bug!

Sincerely,

Alan

When the dvorak keyboard mapping is active, the ctrl-c
and ctrl-z (and all the other control keys) map to the
QWERTY locations of C and Z and not to the dvorak
mappings.

The actual layout in use is USA Dvorak.

This is under gnome.

This problem also occurs under gnome-terminal but NOT rxvt.

I am also using caps-lock and control key swapped, but that
does NOT affect this problem.

I have no idea if this is a Debian problem, or a KDE/Amarok problem.
If you think that I should submit upstream, please delete this
bug report. I've had a few crash reports pop up, and when it goes
to trace things, it realize the trace is useless.

Install amarok-dbg (and maybe its recommends) and you will get a useful
backtrace. Removing and recreating amarok collection/config files is worth a
try as well:

Actually, I filed these on geequie itself, so you probably haven't seen

Ah okay, I actually expected that you would also file them on Debian
package.

OK, I don't care. I'm not going to battle with people about this any
more. I just want to find the version of the last real gqview package so
I can download it and install it, and pin it so it doesn't get upgraded
again. Problem solved for everybody. The whack! where did my program go
that I depend on several times a day? and I can't get the new one to do
what the old one did! I'm screwed! feeling has left me with no need to
 try geequie again.

The last gqview in Debian was 2.0.4-6 . And yes that's exactly the
problem, nobody cares about gqview. If anybody would, it would not be
replaced.

I am personally skeptical, and I doubt it is worth to effort to carry

There would be three alternatives: 1. drop docbook feature. 2. embed a

python-xml which has almost no bugs.

I Frank Lin, maintainer, and *,
I've met Thomas Waldmann (which I'm adding to the CC list) at the GSoC
mentor summit a couple of weeks ago. Of course, I took the chance of
discussing with him this specific issue.

The bottom line is that currently (and since a while now) docbook
support in moin is unmaintained upstream. Thomas is looking for some
helping hands for maintaining that code.

Hence, the issue is not as easy as solving this specific issue that
would allow us to get rid of the old python-xml in Debian, it really is:
either we find someone stepping in as the maintainer of that code, or we
will be stuck with a fairly large unmaintained code base that people bug
us about. My patch was just a first attempt to get rid of python-xml,
but is nowhere production ready due to various Unicode encoding problems
(I haven't checked whether Frank Lin's updates fix that or not).

If the issue stay as it is, my favorite scenario would be (1) (drop
docbook support).

Hope this helps,
Cheers.

Certainly not. It would not install anything since

That would enable me to remove gstreamer0.10-alsa from my system since

Whether to ship PulseAudio by default is still under discussion, but

Bug#502889: docbook support unmaintained upstream

2009-11-20 Thread Thomas Waldmann
Moin,

I proposed an improved patch based on Stefano's one, to upstream
developers (see upstream's bug report). Upstream considered it quite
  intrusive and assuming that:
  1. the rendering will be completely refactored in moinmoin 2.0 (the
next version), which will be based on ElementTree.
  2. the patch against moin 1.9 to drop python-xml dependency was quite
intrusive (and it still had a few important bugs).
Upstream developer isn't interested in such bug.

Well, of course we ARE interested in bug fixes and improvements, we
should just make sure there is no regression due to it.

But, as I personally don't use docbook (and I also don't know of any
currently active moin developer who does), I can't help much with
regression testing or docbook/xml development.

There would be three alternatives: 1. drop docbook feature. 2. embed a
copy of python-xml in moin package. 3. keep using the current
python-xml which has almost no bugs.

1 - will automatically happen at moin 2.0 if noone ports docbook stuff
from 1.9 to 2.0 (and maintains it in 2.0).

2 - likely possible, we have quite some stuff in MoinMoin/support/
anyway.

3 - least work

The bottom line is that currently (and since a while now) docbook
support in moin is unmaintained upstream. Thomas is looking for some
helping hands for maintaining that code.

We get requests from docbook users from time to time. But everyone wants
just to have and use, but not maintain it. :|

If the issue stay as it is, my favorite scenario would be (1) (drop
 docbook support).

For 1.9, that would be rather unexpected (and for some moin docbook
users quite disruptive).

For 2.0, it would be just natural, because the old code wouldn't work
without maintenance/rewrite anyway.

Cheers,

Thomas

I see two things here. The immediate problem is a defect in gnutls's

The other is that when building without pkg-config, lynx is using -lcrypt

Hi,

thanks for the quick fix. However, it looks like you didn't include
the modifications to src/MiscControlPage.cpp, which led your package
to FTBFS again.

Bug#556204: hdparm: too many load cycles with default settings?

2009-11-20 Thread charles blundell
hdparm does not set anything by default. I suspect this is going to be
one of the power management frontends, but I don't know which one you
have installed. Please let me know which one you have installed
(acpi-support, gnome-power, etc) so I can reassign to the appropriate
 one.

acpi-support is at least one culprit:
in /etc/acpi/start.d/90-hdparm.sh we have:
# This script adjusts hard drive APM settings using hdparm. The hardware
# defaults (usually hdparm -B 128) cause excessive head load/unload cycles
# on many modern hard drives. We therefore set hdparm -B 254 while on AC
# power. On battery we set hdparm -B 128, because the head parking is
# very useful for shock protection.

which results, after some hours of using Debian on a new laptop:
# smartctl -a /dev/sda | awk '/Power_On_Hours/ {po=$10}
/Load_Cycle_Count/ {cyc=$10} END {print load cycles: cyc, cycles
per hour: cyc/po, lifetime: (30*po/cyc)/24 days}')
load cycles: 2441, cycles per hour: 56.7674, expected lifetime: 220.197 days

(i do not know if this is what the original poster has installed)

Looks to me like aptitude being on crack, as usual. Does apt-get (or
other working frontends) give better results?

AIUI, libgnomekbd3 replaces libgnomekbd2, and if the package said so,
there would not have been a confict and perhaps the removal of gnome
 would not have been suggested.

libgnomekbd2 should be removed by the upgrade.

If I use schroot -b to create a session of a chroot with
type=block-device, I get a valid chroot session name back, and the
chroot is setup, but it's not recorded in /var/lib/schroot/session,
and I can't then later run it.

Just to double check, this is definitely version 1.3.1 from
experimental, not the stable/unstable version?

I thought this was fixed in 1.3.1, but I'll double check.
It /should/ be creating a session file, but obviously isn't
in your case.

Bug#557211: Avoid mercurial.el where vc-hg.el is available?

2009-11-20 Thread Trent W. Buck
Package: mercurial-common
Version: 1.3.1-1
Severity: minor
File: /usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/mercurial.el

The mercurial.el file in this package says:

Perhaps mercurial.el should not be activated in GNU Emacs 22 and 23,

Bug#553458: Rsync patch to support ionice settings

2009-11-20 Thread Cyril Bouthors
FYI, the package dlocate already has support for the same feature.

You probably want to get inspired from /etc/cron.daily/dlocate:

# See ionice(1)
if [ -x /usr/bin/ionice ]; then
  # don't run ionice if kernel version 2.6.13
  KVER=$(uname -r)
  case $KVER in
2.[012345]*) ;;

2.6.[0-9])   ;;
2.6.[0-9].*) ;;

2.6.1[012]*) ;;

# redirect ionice output to /dev/null
# because VSERVER doesn't like it. See Bug#456292
*) ionice -c3 -p$$  /dev/null 21 ;;
  esac
fi

This could be a good start for a rsync initscript patch to support
RSYNC_IONICE option.

Bug#557214: ITP: wspr -- weak signal propagation reporter

2009-11-20 Thread Stelios Bounanos
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stelios Bounanos sb+d...@enotty.net

* Package name: wspr
  Version : 2.0
Upstream Author : Joe Taylor joe (at) princeton (dot) edu
* URL : http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/K1JT/wspr.html
* License : GPLv2+
  Programming Lang: Python, C, Fortran
Description : weak signal propagation reporter for amateur radio

WSPR (pronounced whisper) implements a protocol designed for probing
potential propagation paths with low-power transmissions. Each transmission
carries a station's callsign, Maidenhead grid locator, and transmitter power
in dBm. The program can decode signals with S/N as low as -28 dB in a 2500
Hz bandwidth. Stations with internet access can automatically upload their
reception reports to a central database called WSPRnet, which includes a
mapping facility.

Bug#557086: texlive-base: change version for the depence on luatex to (=0.44)

Thanks, fixed in the svn repository. Next release will contain the fix.

Great! Thank you for your work.

And thanks for testing. May I ask how the upgrade other then that did
 work out?

The upgrade was not particularly smooth. Some packages did not want to
configure from the first time, complaining that tex-common, texlive-common
and texlive-binaries were not installed completely. But after two or
three runs with aptitude, the installation was complete.

You don't have logs available, do you?

I would help testing the upgrade process if needed, from a fresh
bootstraped sid. But installing a huge number of packages from
experimental without pulling 'all' experimental packages was always a
 bit tricky for me.

I see. However, we already *have* tested the upgrade from a fresh sid,
albeit with nothing on it except the old TeXLive. I guess some related
packages are needed to trigger the problems.

Is it possible to get these texlive2009 packages from
another source, for which I could write a simple pinning rule?

http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ tl2009/

but there are only amd64 binaries.

Bug#557215: open-vm-tools: dependency on libgtk2 and libpango

2009-11-20 Thread Harald Braumann
Package: open-vm-tools
Version: 2009.10.15-201664-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

open-vm-tool depends on libgtk2 which pulls in a lot of other
dependencies. Many virtualised servers run headless, where these
packages would not be required otherwise.

This is a real problem in Lenny, as the version there is too old for
ESXi 4.0. If it weren't for libgtk2, one could easily install the
version from testing. But currently this would install 21 additional
packages from testing and upgrade 7 others (including libc6).

I had a quick look at the package and it seems that only
libresolutionSet.so depends on libgtk2/libpango. Maybe this part could
be split out in an extra package? Then it would be possible to install
open-vm-tools on a head-less server without unneeded dependencies and
install the testing version in stable without even the need to backport.

Cheers,
harry

Dear maintainer,
the Debian CD team (in the person of Steve McIntyre) has noted the
enormous size of nexuiz-data, which means the package won't fit on a
single CD. I'm setting severity serious because this de facto means the
package cannot be distributed to our CD users. I agree that the severity
can be controversial since we have other ways of distributing packages;
feel free to downgrade, better if after discussion with the release team
(even better by reducing the size ;-))

Cheers.

Bug#557219: tomcat5.5-webapps: remove $BASE/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/web.xml

2009-11-20 Thread Simone Tampieri
Package: tomcat5.5-webapps

When I remove purge the package with
# apt-get remove --purge tomcat5.5-webapps
it's remove all the files content in the package AND
the config file
/var/lib/tomcat5.5/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/web.xml
that sound me really weird because it is a personal webapp config file.

This, of course, brake the web application in webapps/ROOT path.

be moved to the contrib section or the dependency on libparmetis3.1 must be

Certainly not. It would not install anything since
gstreamer0.10-plugins-good provides it thanks to the OSS sink. Which
 doesn’t work on Linux.

That would enable me to remove gstreamer0.10-alsa from my system since
 I don't use it (I prefer Pulse).

Please. This package weighs 200 KiB unpacked.

Whether to ship PulseAudio by default is still under discussion, but
your suggestion is certainly not the way to go.

Bug#557223: Asterisk chan_sip eats up sockets

2009-11-20 Thread Joerg Dorchain
Package: asterisk
Version: 1:1.6.2.0~dfsg~rc1-1

Hello,

with this version of asterisk, the chan_sip modules does not free
rtp sockets anymore under certain cirumstances. I have not been
able to trigger this behaviour on purpose, however.
When this version runs for a while (a few days) and handles a few
dozen calls, the whole rtp socket range is used up not still held
open by asterisk, although all calls have ended.

In this state, it does not accept new sip calls, neither incoming
nor outgoing.

kassia.debian.org may push you and provide your sync (8ms far away in

In any case, it's still there...

Bug#557222: ecs is in main but depends on the non-free libparmetis

2009-11-20 Thread Fabian Greffrath
Since you uploaded the packages with arch=i386 and it has been
automatically rebuilt on all the other arches, I suspect that the
malign dependency on i386 has slipped in by accidently building
against a local copy of this library on your personal computer.

To avoid this in future uploads, maybe instead of commenting out the
B-D on libparmetis-dev you should turn it into a Build-Conflicts.

Also, the commented out work-around in debian/rules won't work even if
uncommented, because the line break isn't escaped after the first line.

And, while we are at it, the use of `pwd` in debian/rules is
discouraged, please use $(CURDIR) instead (see
http://lintian.debian.org/tags/debian-rules-uses-pwd.html). And in
debian/control the Depends line for the binary package has a trailing
comma.

That's all for now. ;)

Thanks,
Fabian

Bug#557226: openoffice.org-writer: loses focus on entering a line with number/bullet

2009-11-20 Thread Kurt Roeckx
Package: openoffice.org-writer
Version: 1:3.1.1-2

Hi,

When I'm moving with my cursor in the text and come to a line that
has a number or bullet on it, it shows the dialog with as title
bullets and numbering which shows some options related to them.

The problem is that at that moment openoffice loses the focus and
I can't continue to type or scoll in the document with the cursor
key. I need to make it the current application in focus again to
be able to continue.

The same thing happens with the mouse. If the cursor is on a
line without bullet/numbers and you click on a line with them,
it will also lose it's focus. If you do this when when it wasn't
in focus it gets focus for a moment and than loses it again. Both
caes can be very confusing, acting like you didn't click. Note
that it doesn't happen if you change from a line with number/bullet
to an other line with them.

The problem seems to be somewhere in stat() system call. Exploring it
with gdb gives the following:

mount command shows

//natalie.campus/music on /smb/natalie.campus:music/music type cifs (rw,mand)

 Hi,

your package FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD given it tries to include some
Linux-specific headers unconditionally. Please find attached a tiny
patch to fix that. Please note I didn't try to build it on Linux,
but it really should do. ;) [Feel free to slap me back if it doesn't.]

 Thanks for considering.

Thank you for reporting this and for attaching a patch.

The package now seems to build fine on GNU/kFreeBSD-i386 and on Linux
(i386 and amd64). [no slap needed ;)]

A new release should be uploaded very soon.

Kind regards,
 Ignace M

Setting this to important as it could accelerate disk aging as far as

hdparm does not set anything by default. I suspect this is going to be
one of the power management frontends, but I don't know which one you

Bug#556929: kernel-package now severely broken

2009-11-20 Thread srivasta
I repeat, I am not doing anything non-standard:

  $ cp /boot/config-2.6.31-1-amd64 .config
  $ make-kpkg --initrd --revision=custom.1.2 kernel_image

That's [retty non-standard for a custom kernel. You are using
a distro kitchen sync config for making a custom kernel; and
kernel-package is mostly geared for individuals.

*I* did not ask for XEN, this is part of the debian stock
  kernel image configuration.

Yes, you did, by using that config file.

*I* did not instruct grub2 not to ignore vmlinux, my grub2
  configuration was installed as standard.

And you fed it a non-standard image, which had vmlinux in
it. kernel-package is not geared for people cargo culting.

Until the recent change, I had never seen vmlinux,
and therefore there was no problem. Why was the decision made
  to now produce this?

This is part of the effort to make kernel-package friendlier
to XEN, and as Xen moves closer to inclusion in mainline. Also, the
usage conventions for XEN are changing, and k-p has to be made to
 adapt to it.

Also, I can find no mention of make defconfig in
  /usr/share/doc/kernel-package/README.gz

kernel-package does not say _anything_ about how you get your
.configs. The defconfig is documented in upstream kernel
 documentation.

so please do not moralize me and recognize that there IS a bug!

I do not think there is a bug anymore, anyway. You are using
unstable, there is a reason it is called the bleeding edge. Behaviour
changes, and it sometimes takes a few days for things to stabilize.

Bug#511555: VDPAU headers packaging obsoleted by libvdpau release

2009-11-20 Thread Paul TBBle Hampson
The headers packaging being discussed in this bug is now obsolete.

nVidia have released a DFSG-free vdpau adaption library, which is being
packaged by the pkg-multimedia team, packaging ITP is being tracked in
#549626.

So I'd suggest either closing this bug, or maybe merging it with that
one.

 yes, build started

the gcc 4.4.2-2 built with eglibc 2.9-25 has not the problem and current
gcc 4.4.2-1 is built with eglibc 2.9-26 [0]. should i try building
4.4.2-1 with eglibc 2.10.1-5 or are we convinced it is NPTL?

At least we are convinced it's eglibc 2.10.1, not 100% sure it is due to
NPTL.

I have done some more tests, showing it's a bit more complicated than
that. apt-get from stable/testing/unstable:
- works with libstdc++6 built against eglibc 2.9
- segfaults with libstdc++6 built against eglibc 2.10.1

Then I tried to rebuild apt against the broken libstdc++6.
Surprisingly this new apt-get:
- works with libstdc++6 built against eglibc 2.10.1
- segfaults with libstdc++6 built against eglibc 2.9

So in short, it seems that using eglibc 2.10.1 to build libstdc++6
triggers an ABI change on this library. I haven't investigated more for
now, I am not sure when I'll have time to do it.

It can't be *that* broken. The archive was rebuilt (with sbuild)
several times before the Lenny release. I guess we've got lucky that
the default sbuild configuration doesn't expose the bug.

OTOH, I am not sure if the package contents were checked by these
rebuilds, so the problem may just went undetected.

Bug#557231: [nvidia-glx] Freezes display when running opengl app

2009-11-20 Thread Peter Fritzsche
Package: nvidia-glx
Version: 190.42-2
Severity: normal

When I run a opengl program like glxgears the display freezes for a while and
then it displays some frames and freezes again. The ouput of glxgears is:

Running synchronized to the vertical refresh. The framerate should be
approximately the same as the monitor refresh rate.
40 frames in 8.6 seconds = 4.627 FPS
6 frames in 8.0 seconds = 0.747 FPS
8 frames in 8.1 seconds = 0.987 FPS
7 frames in 8.1 seconds = 0.866 FPS

It seems to happen when kwin with compositing is enabled. Or sometimes when
tvtime is opened/closed or sometimes when tvtime is running and no compositing
is enabled.

This didn't happened with the last version (18x.xx) in unstable.

Bug#557232: vnc4server: Screen blans every few seconds with x0vncserver (time has moved forwards)

2009-11-20 Thread Gilles Mocellin
Package: vnc4server
Version: 4.1.1+X4.3.0-31
Severity: normal

Whenever I use x0vncserver to view my desktop from home, it's quiet
unusable.
The screen blanks every few seconds.

Serverside, a message is prompted, corresponding to the event :

Timer: time has moved forwards!

I have no problem with vncserver.
Perhaps because a new X and new desktop is started...

On the desktop I try to use with x0vncserver, I use KDE 3.5, the
proprietary nvidia driver with dual screen.

I've installed the sid version (4.1.1+X4.3.0-32) on my Lenny and it works
better.
No more screen blanking, but the message Timer: time has moved
forwards! is still there.

Bug#557233: fglrx-driver: fails to load FireMV 2400

2009-11-20 Thread Donald Kayser
Package: fglrx-driver
Version: 1:9-10-1
Severity: serious
Justification: important

I recently updated to the most recent fglrx driver in hopes of getting support
for this 4-head
dual-chip FireMV 2400 graphics adapter. This driver worked on one set of
screens prior to the most
recent update. I installed the 2.6.26-2-686 kernel and modules as a possible
solution, but it
fails also. I was able to use this driver with the lenny distribution, but then
I upgraded from
squeeze these newest drivers, and ever since, X will not load. I mostly have
been using the
2.6.30.2 kernel, and built modules for it, and had the same results as with
both kernels.

Bug#557234: udev: Bad permissions for firewire devices

2009-11-20 Thread Jan Moebius
Package: udev
Version: 146-5
Severity: normal

Hi,

the permissions for firewire devices prevent none root users from using them.
Currently /dev/fw* are owned by
user and group root and permissions set to 660 so a normal user can not access
them. Maybe there should be a group
for firewire users so that they can use firewire cameras.

I set the firewire currently with the following udev rules:
KERNEL==raw1394,  GROUP=firewire,MODE=0660
KERNEL==dv1394*,  GROUP=firewire,MODE=0660
KERNEL==video1394*,   GROUP=firewire,MODE=0660

KERNEL==fw*,  GROUP=firewire,MODE=0660

But maybe that is not the optimal solution.

Best regards,
Jan

Bug#557227: Tellico doesn't preserve loans and advance filters

2009-11-20 Thread Robby Stephenson
On Friday 20 November 2009, you wrote:
 Package: tellico

The newest version do not save/preserve the loans and advance searches
over restart. The older version (some weeks ago) did work well, however
I did not found _where_ the information was saved to (Maybe the new
 version destroy that information).

It's fixed in version 2.1.1 which should be out this weekend.

Bug#553246: The uploader extraction problem went away after install from unstable

I was using an old version that was somehow not from Debian (it
was in my /usr/local/bin), but there was no version in 'testing'
when I went to test. Sorry for the noise.

Bug#552560: #552560 Should off all possible locales when language_country does not fit an existing locale

2009-11-20 Thread Frans Pop
In localechooser 2.18 an improved solution has been implemented.

A new dialog is displayed (at hight priority) when the user selects a
combination of language and country for which no locale is defined and
there exist multiple UTF-8 locales for the language.

The new dialog is identical to the country shortlist for the language, but
with an added second column showing the locale that will be used.

Cheers,
FJP

Bug#557235: postfix-policyd logs everything with syslog priority LOG_MAIL | LOG_INFO

2009-11-20 Thread Tim Small
Package: postfix-policyd
Version: 1.80-2.3
Severity: normal

postfix-policyd logs everything to syslog with priority LOG_MAIL | LOG_INFO by
default. Although this can be changed, it then just logs everything
with the new priority (including serious errors) - such that messages
like this:

mysql_real_connect(): Access denied for user
'postfix-policyd'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

get logged in /var/log/mail.log

along with informational messages like this:

rcpt=242, greylist=update, host=..., from=..., to=...

If you have automated systems in use to alert administrators of mail
errors, then this is obviously of little use...

Thanks,

Tim.
