Your reference talks about compiling a python module using g++.
What I'm doing is building mesa, using 'make'.
You can try to import this module by hand, this will have this problem also.
So this module is not build correctly.
And the above link is one of possible reason.

Compiling mesa with libxml2 v.2.9.0 (exp) and libxml2mod.so v.2.8.0 (sid)
in /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ imports the module and builds without
 error.
you fail on building mesa is caused by the python-libxml2 is not build
correctly.

This seems to point to an error in libxml2mod.so v.2.9.0 (exp).

redistribute pristine source tarball, even if more hassle.

One more point is that, as of the somewhat recent discussion in
debian-devel@ (e. g., [1]), the inclusion of “minified” sources
in Debian source packages is “discouraged”, if not considered a
violation of DFSG.

Thus, I guess that, unless such files are dropped (or replaced
with “pristine” versions) upstream, repackaging the source
package may still be necessary.

Apart from jquery-1.2.6.min.js, also affected are:
hoverIntent.js, jquery.bgiframe.min.js,
jquery.tablesorter.min.js.

2012-10-03 Thread Sebastien Koechlin
I just had the same problem on Ubuntu and find that /etc/shadow was in the
root group (bad upgrade?).

Make sure you have the right owner, group and permissions.

$ ls -l /etc/shadow
-rw-r- 1 root shadow 3180 May 15 16:56 /etc/shadow

This may become a feature request on PAM: on a problem to read /etc/shadow,
log an useful message in syslog instead of 'user unkown'.

But if you are only corresponding with other users of your mail server,
then why do you care about DKIM? DKIM signatures can be rendered invalid
 elsewhere along the delivery path.

My mail server is reachable directly, and directly listed as the
MX of my domains. So, if there is some other server along the
delivery path for a personal mail, that's due to the sender of
the message, e.g. because he uses a smarthost that modifies the
mail, but in this case, the sender shouldn't use DKIM in the first
place.

The KDIM test is not enabled by default and is clearly marked as
 experimental in the config.

In the config, but neither in the Mail::SpamAssassin::Plugin::DKIM
man page, nor in the spamassassin(1p) man page. This is where the
user would look in the first place.

one possible way to work around this segfault is to pass the following

Bug#689368: Mouse and keyboard freeze on Ivy Bridge platform

2012-10-03 Thread sebastien . dinot
Hi,

I am encountering random keyboard and mouse freezes which can only be resolved
by a hard reset (by pushing the power switch of the computer case).

I have this frequent and irritating issue with two differents Ivy Bridge
platforms:

1. Processor: Intel Core i5 3450 (IGP HD 2500)
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 (with uptodate BIOS)

2. Processor: Intel Core i5 3570K (IGP HD 4000)
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LX (with uptodate BIOS)

I use Debian on these platforms and I tried several Linux kernels:

  * linux-image-3.2.0-3-amd64 (package from Debian testing)
  * linux-image-3.4-trunk-amd64 (package from Debian experimental)
  * linux-image-3.5-trunk-amd64 (package from Debian experimental)

I pointed out this bug to the Debian kernel team:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689368

The mouse and keyboard are both USB devices and it seems that the bug is coming
from the echci-hcd module:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689368#24

I attached the dmesg output and the kern.log file to my first message to Debian:

*
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=35;filename=dmesg.20121001-231244;att=1;bug=689268
*
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=35;filename=kern.log.20121001-232320.gz;att=2;bug=689268

As mentioned to the Debian maintainers, this bug is very frequent (I had up to
four freezes in an hour) and my PC are really unusable!

Can I run additional tests or give you additional informations to help you
resolve this painful bug?

Sebastien

Ok, the fix is public:

It ended up being more complicated than I initially thought. The
vulnerability described in CVE-2011-1005 was reintroduced into the Ruby
codebase in 1.9.3-p0.

When upstream was developing their fix they found a new, but similar,
issue that goes back to ruby1.8. My request for new CVE ids and a
slightly more detailed explanation can be found here:

Bug#688842: CPAN modules no longer installed to /usr/local by default

I believe I've uncovered a small bug relating to the default
installation parameters when using CPAN. On my first try using CPAN
on the latest Debian testing version (Wheezy), I found that it was
installing all the modules I requested into /root/perl instead of in
  the proper directories.

Thanks for reporting this. They are indeed supposed to go in /usr/local
rather than /root by default when root is installing modules.

When the site dirs don't exist, the CPAN shell interactive configuration
 states
Warning: You do not have write permission for Perl library directories.
and proceeds to suggest local::lib for installation, which is not the
 optimal suggestion for root users.

We don't ship the site directories in /usr/local with the perl package,
as they used to be created at CPAN install time if necessary, and not
having them by default saves (or at least used to save) a bunch of stat()
calls on every interpreter startup in the common case.

This should've been s/on every interpreter startup/on require time/,
see #510895. However, some quick tests indicate the stat() calls are
made anyway, and that this was the case for squeeze too. Not sure
how much that matters though.

Still, creating /usr/local/lib/perl/version from postinst scripts
leads to a profileration of empty directories in the common case
where CPAN is never used. I'd rather avoid that.

Possibly we need to make CPAN::FirstTime try to mkdir those directories
 when probing.

My current thinking is that a minimally invasive fix would be a loop
that tests the first existing directory up the tree for writability.
This way we can leave the mkdir part (along with umask settings,
see debian/patches/debian/writable_site_dirs.diff) for later.

Help (and opinions on the right thing to do) is welcome on this.

This still applies.

If you are just using /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ as your repos source,
xen-tools complains that it cannot parse /etc/apt/sources.list, since
it's empty, while apt/aptitude are perfectly fine with this, and it's

this has been already reported as http://bugs.debian.org/650300 and is
fixed since 4.3~rc1-1, i.e. will be fixed in Wheezy. I hence
merge this bug into the closed one.

Nevertheless thanks for taking the time to write the bug-report.

Sorry about the confusion. However, you can confirm the upstream ones are
 fresh.

 ftp-master having Tue Oct 2 20:28:04 UTC 2012

It's misleading, it can happen you have synchronized trace files and part of
the mirror, but the sync is not properly finished so local trace file not
generated.

Seems like the upgrade wasn't smooth and our timestamps aren't being
generated since then. We are hooking some of our pre/post scripts into
ftpsync, but that must have gone wrong. We'll fix it soon.

Yes we do receive the mails, and despite seeing some connection timeouts
for a few days, it seems to be keeping in sync. (except our trace timestamp)

You may disable the hook for the moment so that 1 full sync is performed
including trace file.

We're also working on opening a ssh port for receiving push triggers from
you. Our campus network policy became very strict a while ago and most of
the known service ports have been closed.

Is it possible to receive ssh triggers on a non-standard port BTW?

Yes.

clamav has just release a new version: 0.97.6, and as you know how picky it is
when it comes to new releases update virus definitions, we'd like to ask you
if you have any ETA to have the new version uploaded to stable-updates, so that
we can update our production machines.

Thanks in advance,
Sandro

PS: I noticed in the git web repo that there's no tags for the latest releases
of the Debian package: maybe a 'git push --tags' is missing? it would be nice to
know where releases were cut off from the history on web.

Bug#689488: openvas-scanner: modifies conffiles (policy 10.7.3): /etc/openvas/openvassd.conf

2012-10-03 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: openvas-scanner
Version: 3.2.3-4.1
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package modifies conffiles.
This is forbidden by the policy, see
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-config-files

10.7.3: [...] The easy way to achieve this behavior is to make the
configuration file a conffile. [...] This implies that the default
version will be part of the package distribution, and must not be
modified by the maintainer scripts during installation (or at any
other time).

Note that once a package ships a modified version of that conffile,
dpkg will prompt the user for an action how to handle the upgrade of
this modified conffile (that was not modified by the user).

Further in 10.7.3: [...] must not ask unnecessary questions
(particularly during upgrades) [...]

If a configuration file is customized by a maintainer script after
having asked some debconf questions, it may not be marked as a
conffile. Instead a template could be installed in /usr/share and used
by the postinst script to fill in the custom values and create (or
update) the configuration file (preserving any user modifications!).
This file must be removed during postrm purge.
ucf(1) may help with these tasks.
See also http://wiki.debian.org/DpkgConffileHandling

In https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2012/09/msg00412.html and
followups it has been agreed that these bugs are to be filed with
severity serious.

debsums reports modification of the following files,
from the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

  /etc/openvas/openvassd.conf

Andreas

Bug#689490: openssl: using openssl from maintainer scripts creates /root/.rnd

Hi,

while doing piuparts tests I noticed several packages leaving around a
/root/.rnd file. The thing all these have in common is a (indirect)
dependency on openssl:

 courier-mta-ssl
 courier-imap-ssl
 courier-pop-ssl
 dovecot-core
 (perhaps more)

I think this is a FHS violation, dropping anything in root's HOME.
Wouldn't /var/lib/openssl/rnd be a more appropriate place?

Bug#684694: Bug#684695: emacs23: CVE-2012-3479: GNU Emacs file-local variables

In that case I've had to take some time to finish working out another
problem (that requires simultaneous changes to emacs23/24 in both wheezy
and sid) -- it's an issue with the emacs metapackage binary that
involves the creation of a new gcc-defaults-style source package.

At this point, I think I've finished discussing that with the release
team, but haven't had time since then (until today) to finish the work.
I expect to have uploads for both before Monday.

Hopefully someone will have time to release the stable-security update
  soon.

How does that work? I have the packages ready to go, but was just
waiting for approval to upload -- or does the security team handle
 building stable packages?

Hi Rob,

Sorry the late response. I'm very short of time the last months and
apparently noone else chimed in on this thread.

Please upload your build to security-master (it needs to be build with
-sa, since emacs23 is new in the stable-security suite (otherwise
the security buildd network will trigger strange errors)

As for the other security issues (untrusted search path in CEDET):
I had a look at the Ubuntu security update for Emacs, which the released
a few days ago; they also ignored the CEDET issue since they couldn't
create a backport for the releases based on releases older than 23.3.

Also, since the vulnerability is rather far-fetched we can ignore it
for Squeeze IMHO.

Cheers,
Moritz

What type of filesystem do you have in mind ?

The posted block, which should contain the ISO 9660 PVD, shows
pieces of a Joliet tree: ECMA-119 directory records with
16-bit characters.
Joliet exists only in conjunction with ISO 9660. So i

Bug#689499: python-notmuch: Please install Python 3 bindings

2012-10-03 Thread Sascha Silbe
Package: python-notmuch
Version: 0.13.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

notmuch ships with Python 3 bindings, but the Debian package doesn't
install them. Some third-party tools (that use the notmuch bindings)
work better with Python 3 than with Python 2.x. There may even be some
that don't work at all with Python 2.

This is probably too late for Wheezy, so once it's fixed in sid a
backport of the latest upstream version (including the incompatible
format changes) would be appreciated.

Sascha

Bug#549691: lvm2: lvremove fails to remove open logical volume which is not opened

2012-10-03 Thread Michael Stapelberg
Hi,

I have the same problem. lvremove fails to remove snapshot LVs in many
cases (but not 100% of the time).

As a workaround, I am currently using the dmsetup remove trick.

What can we do to fix this problem?

Here are the software versions I’m using:

lvm2 2.02.95-4
udev 175-3.1
dmsetup2:1.02.74-4
libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.74-4
systemd44-4
linux-image-3.5.0 3.5.0-10.00.Custom (with Debian config)

The machine is an x86_64 AMD Athlon II X2 250.

I don’t have udisks installed, so I don’t have a file called
/lib/udev/rules.d/80-udisks.rules either. The suggested solution
from the RedHat bugzilla therefore is not applicable in my case.

To give a bit more information about how I reproduce this issue:

lvcreate -n snap_web -L 1G -s plana/domu-web
kpartx -a /dev/mapper/plana-snap_web
mount /dev/mapper/plana-snap_web1 /mnt/snap_web

# Run backup

umount /mnt/snap_web
kpartx -d /dev/mapper/plana-snap_web
lvremove -f plana/snap_web

I have also tried using maximum verbosity and stracing lvremove,
but I don’t understand enough of how lvremove should work to
make any sense out of it (even when comparing the working and
non-working strace output).

Best regards,
Michael

 virtinst in Wheezy.

It might be preferable to use the stable symlink, instead of a release
codename.

Bug#689504: ITP: libterm-clui-perl -- Perl module offering a Command-Line User Interface

2012-10-03 Thread Mathieu Malaterre
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Mathieu Malaterre ma...@debian.org

* Package name: libterm-clui-perl
  Version : 1.66
Upstream Author : Peter J Billam
* URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Term-Clui/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : Perl module offering a Command-Line User Interface

Term::Clui offers a high-level user interface to give the user of command-line
applications a consistent look and feel. Its metaphor for the computer is as
a human-like conversation-partner, and as each question/response is completed
it is summarised onto one line, and remains on screen, so that the history of
the session gradually accumulates on the screen and is available for review, or
for cut/paste. This user interface can therefore be intermixed with standard
applications which write to STDOUT or STDERR, such as make, pgp, rcs etc.

Bug#689293: dia menu entry should use /usr/bin/dia not /usr/bin/dia-normal

Thanks you for your report!

Currently /usr/bin/dia-normal is used, which bypasses the alternatives
 system.

Interesting question. Currently, dia just installs menu files for
dia(-normal) and dia-gnome each, which will both appear in the menu, if
available.

Now I wonder if menu entries should follow alternative system choices or
not. Is there a policy about that or some common practice in other packages?

Bug#688129: causes vim to complain on startup

2012-10-03 Thread Sergio Talens-Oliag
Package: ldapvi
Version: 1.7-8
Followup-For: Bug #688129

This bug can be easily fixed using the patch on:

  http://lists.askja.de/pipermail/ldapvi/2011-January/88.html

That makes ldapvi use fileencoding instead of encoding on the modeline

The fedora package has a similar patch:

  https://bugzilla.redhat.com/691958

but instead of changing the option it removes the modeline

I'm attaching the first patch ready to be put on debian/patches.

Bug#689505: udev: Creates duplicates by-id symlinks for event devices for Microsoft Wireless Desktop

2012-10-03 Thread Alex Hermann
Package: udev
Version: 175-7
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

The 60-persistent-input.rules rules create identical by-id symlinks for two
separate event devices, rendering the first unaccesible by-id. The winning
symlink seems to be random, with a strong preference for event11 (which is
not hte most usefull interface)

The /dev/input/by-id/usb-Microsoft_Microsoft®_2.4GHz_Transceiver_v7.0-event-kbd
is created for both /dev/input/event2 and /dev/input/event11.

Below is the output from udevadm info --query=all for all devices created
when plugging in the hardware. Note the duplicated entry:

  Heyya!

So, i've taken a look at your patch, and I'm not sure where the move was
introduced -- do you have a kernel version this change was introduced
  in?

  | $ apt-file search netinet/if_tr.h
  | $ apt-file search linux/if_tr.h
  | linux-headers-3.4-trunk-common:
  /usr/src/linux-headers-3.4-trunk-common/include/linux/if_tr.h
  | linux-headers-3.4-trunk-common-rt:
  /usr/src/linux-headers-3.4-trunk-common-rt/include/linux/if_tr.h
  | linux-libc-dev: /usr/include/linux/if_tr.h

Anyway, patch looks minimal, and thanks for your work!

I did only a quick search so far. AFAICS this was done in following
 git commit[1].

  [1]:
 http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git;a=commitdiff;h=ee446fd5e6dafee4a16fd1bd345d2571dcfd6f5d

And indeed with linux-libc-dev 3.5.2-1~experimental.1 from
experimental the FTBFS can be reproduced. With the applied patch
iptraf still builds both with linux-libc-dev from both sid and
experimental.

I prepared the patch with the fix submitted by Marcin but not yet
uploaded to a delayed queue to wait first for comments/feedback.

Salvatore

you to deal succesfully with a tnef attachment (again, not as you
 wished,
but somehow), so, while your feedback is appreciated and this will be
forwarded upstream, this kind of conclusion is pretty absurd to me.

Working in computer science i was able to deal with this plugin, but
i don't think a non-geek person would be able to use it at all.
Debian is a universal OS and we should work for most users, and they
would surely be lost when they don't see any proper attached mail.
It is not trivial to guess which software to use to open an
application/octet-stream and most people would just be disappointed.

No user has ever complained such way, and I don't think you're the
only user of this package
(http://qa.debian.org/popcon-graph.php?packages=claws-mail-tnef-parser), so I
still think the problem is what you were
expecting, not the software itself. Which, as said, has a lot of room
for improvement, of course.

Universal means for all, not for most. That includes geeks, childs,
90 year old grandmas and whatnot. And not all software have to work
for all of them as every one of them expect. That's not only absurd
but impossible.

I, as a DD, consider this plugin of insufficient quality for
normal/non-geek people, and i consider it a bug and not a wish
because the only goal of this plugin/package is defeated for the
intended audience of both Debian and the users of claws-mail (which
is not an obscure adminsys or dev tool).

The goal of this plugin is to parse tnef attachments, and the intended
audience are claws-mail users which have to deal with them. Normality is
a not a good concept to mix here. That it has required you more effort
to do it than the one you were expecting doesn't mean this is happening
to the rest of users. So, are these users not normal?

Claws Mail has never been a mailer for the masses, and from what I see
on the upstream mailing list, the normal user can be a lot more geeky
than you or me. Maybe we should remove also Claws Mail from Debian
because most of people won't be able to use it. And while at it remove
also mutt, doesn't even have a wizard to configure my account on first
run, dow does that people expect my father to use it?
See what happens when you only want software for normal people? :-P

You downgraded this br, so be it. Please note i fully disagree.
 Nothing personal.

Yep, I've already guessed that :)

And, while I have your attention, I think the manpage could be improved
to detail usage and what's expected from this plugin. Since I don't use it,
would you like to provide a couple of paragraphs to add to the usage section
of the manpage?

  thanks in advance,

Bug#689508: dpkg: taking over a conffile via Breaks/Replaces leaves the entry in the Conffiles: entry in the status file of the old package

2012-10-03 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.16.8
Severity: important

Hi,

moving a conffile from old-pkg to new-pkg with

Package: old-pkg
Depends: new-pkg (= X)

Package: new-pkg
Breaks: old-pkg ( X)
Replaces: old-pkg ( X)

seems to work, also if the conffile gets replaced by an updated version
on the way, but it leaves an old md5sum entry in the Conffiles entry of
old-pkg in the status file.

This causes subsequent debsums runs to report modified files (for a
package which no longer owns the file).

Seen in grub-* (moved something to grub-common) and libopenal1 (moved
/etc/openal/alsoft.conf to libopenal-data).

Bug#670875: About your newly uploaded logsurfer to mentors.d.n

2012-10-03 Thread Thilo Uttendorfer
Hi Salvatore,

Am 20.09.2012 um 19:37 schrieb Salvatore Bonaccorso car...@debian.org:

 Hi Thilo

I had a quick look again at your current version uploaded to
mentors.d.n. Really thanks for your work you put into that package.
I'm adding only again some comments:

current lintian reports the following two:

 W: logsurfer: hardening-no-fortify-functions usr/bin/logsurfer
 N:
N:This package provides an ELF binary that lacks the use of fortified libc

This needs patching of Makefile.in. Simply adding @CPPFLAGS@ to the

 my resulting binary had:

 foo/usr/bin/logsurfer:
Position Independent Executable: no, normal executable!
 Stack protected: yes
Fortify Source functions: yes (some protected functions found)

Yes, that worked for me, too. I included the patch.

While I think that lintian show this warning because of /var/adm, I get your
point.

No files are installed into the wrong directory, but looking at the
 manpage logsurfer.conf(5) I see that /usr/local/etc/logsurfer.conf is
references as default configuration file. Trying to start logsurfer:

 # logsurfer
 warning: logsurfer started as root
 error opening configfile /usr/local/etc/logsurfer.conf
 error reading configfile /usr/local/etc/logsurfer.conf

For more information on Configuration files[1], in particular see
'Location' and 'Behaviour'. Location of a default configuration file
seems configurable in the configure part.

 [1]: http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-files.html#s-config-files

I changed the default to /etc/logsurfer.conf. The warning about /var/adm is
still there, but I think that should be ok.

debian/changelog: For the initial upload it is only needed to have the
'Initial release (Closes: #670875)' entry, the others as part of the
 inital packaging could be removed.

Fixed.

Hmm, maybe would be good to actually add a README.Debian to give an
introduction on how to use logsurfer on a Debian system? How to set up
 monitoring of a logfile? cronjobs?

Yes, I thought about that as well. For now I created a small README.Debian.
But maybe it would be a good idea to include some examples like an init.d
script to start logsrufer on system boot.

 Hope this could help you,

Yes, very much! I uploaded a new version to mentors.d.n.

Thanks again,
Thilo

I might regret asking this, but... why not?

Thanks for asking. I answered about all the migration stuff already on [2],
from which I am quoting

Indeed the original change for all kind of buffer/string migrations was the
move from base64 encoding to buffer for binary fields in the server:
 http://hg.tryton.org/trytond/rev/8d2762bb1aa4?revcount=160

The decision to migrate from base64 encoding to buffer AFAIK was made, because
- buffer saves overhead of base64 encoding
- usage of buffer is pythonic

Anyway: since this change was made in the Tryton server, all Tryton modules have
to adapt to this change.
   * Reports must no more be encoded in base64
just says, that this change was forgotten in module migration.

Bug#509952: fetchmail: Using idle option only checks the first mailbox.

2012-10-03 Thread Gilles Dartiguelongue
The wording is confusing as it suggests fetchmail is not able to idle on
multiple folders. It is not actually clearly written that this also
implies that it does not support running idle on multiple accounts.

In case user does not want to change the config file, fetchmail just has
to be started as many times as there is of accounts with a different
--pidfile for each instances.

It fills bad but it is perfectly understandable once user knows that
fetchmail isn't threaded.

Bug#689381: gdm3 login dialog fails to appear

I've seen this issue on wheezy as well. Switching to a separate VTY and
restarting the gdm3 process always fixes it, but I've never found a
consistent way to reproduce the issue.

I am pretty sure that this is a different problem, since GDM 3 in
Squeeze and Wheezy are too different.

Could you please submit a separate report to the Debian BTS, for example
with `reportbug gdm3`. When the startup fails it is important that we
get the file `/var/log/Xorg.0.log` from that failed start.

Jesse and Holger reassigned this to GDM.

After booting into Debian 6.0.6 the login screen fails to appear. This is an
 intermittant problem.

Do you mean important instead of intermittant?

I still hear the sound associated with the login screen and can interact with
it (eg enter my password and log in) but the screen itself is not visible. The
only thing visible is the default background colour.

Thank you for the detailed description. Unfortunately this is still not
enough information to solve this issue. So we need your help!

1. Is that a fresh install or did you upgrade from 6.0.5? Did it work
before?

2. What is the output of `dpkg -l gdm3`?

3. Please attach the following files. If you do not know how to do that,
please ask. (Short: Change to tty1 (Ctrl + Alt + 1) log in and copy the
files to some USB medium (udisks --mount /dev/sdX1, where X has to be
replaced by the correct character). Or log in over SSH since networking
hopefully still works.)

Comments/Problems:

It took around 17 hours to erase the existing disk content when setting up
encrypted LVM. This may be for a good reason, but the only thing on the drive
before was the Windows 7 setup it came with, which I never booted.

Once the install was done, the screen became garbled, with no way to restore
it, early in the boot process. This can be fixed by adding the option
radeon.modeset=0 to the kernel, then installing linux-firmware-nonfree,
whereafter the option is not needed. However, it seems that screen brightness
adjustment stops working shortly after boot when this is done. It can be set
when grub is displayed, and the level is maintained, and the on-screen display
shows adjustment but it is not effective.

I will reference this report in one or more further bug reports I will also
submit.

I can reproduce this. However, only in KDE (not in GNOME), and only with

I guess this issue should be reassigned to kde?

Bug#689470: fai-server: customised fai.conf does not get installed into the nfsroot

2012-10-03 Thread Thomas Lange

make-fai-nfsroot from 3.4 would copy it (and other stuff in /etc/fai)
into the nfsroot. fai-make-nfsroot does not.
This change in 4.0 was done by intention. Therefore, it's not a bug at
all IMO. I will first set down the severity to normal.

Most things you define in fai.conf can also be defined in the config
space in class/*.var files. Therefore this behaviour was removed.

I've worked around it by copying fai.conf into the nfsroot in a hook script.
Thois is a good workaround. Hooks are designed to give such flexibility.

Bug#689516: linux-image-3.2.0-3-amd64: suspending a Lenovo Thinkpad X131e AMD crashes on resume

2012-10-03 Thread Phil Reynolds
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.2.23-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Activating suspend/sleep on a Lenovo ThinkPad X131e works but is not resumable
- the screen remains blank when resumed, leaving powering off as the only
option.

I have little idea how this is supposed to work anyway, but it is a feature
that would be useful if I could get it to work.

Obviously, as this is easy to trigger, a workaround or fix would be a good
idea.

I have an installation report filed at #689512.
