Bug#674755: Processed: Missing /run/shm breaks xshmfence

2014-05-02 Thread Keith Packard
Michael Biebl bi...@debian.org writes:

 Hi Keith,

 looking at libxshmfence_1.1-2, it's debian/rules use
--with-shared-memory-dir=/tmp so I don't see how the package is broken,
am I looking at the wrong package?
 Can you elaborate?

I had built it locally on my machine under sysvinit (before there was a
package) and it selected /run/shm.

The configure.ac auto-detection logic should be updated and use
/dev/shm. Only this directory is pretty much guaranteed to exist
cross-disto. Will file a bug against libxshmfence later.

The auto-detection logic looks for /run/shm /var/tmp and /tmp in order,
as I asked RedHat and SuSE developers for what they wanted. No-one asked
for /dev/shm, and when I looked through the debian documentation, I
found /run/shm as the 'preferred' location for tmpfs to be mounted.

I consider any change like this across a sysvinit-systemd transition
to be a bug in systemd at this point; my system was working, and a
transition to systemd caused it to stop working.

I'd love it if glibc offered an API to create an anonymous unnamed file
in shmfs. Right now, I'm using:

#define SHMDIR /run/shm

fd = open(SHMDIR, O_TMPFILE|O_RDWR|O_CLOEXEC|O_EXCL, 0666);

I can't see how any application could responsibly use shm_open as that
API appears to present all of the usual /tmp races which we've worked
hard to eliminate. glibc doesn't appear to provide any other API for
creating a temporary anonymous memory file.

Hello,

file(1) maintainer here, about #745882 and #746307 (cwr* mis-detected

Good news: Upstream fixed the issue. I expect the next release within
the next four to six weeks. In my understanding the bug you've
encountered isn't that important it requires an immediate upload to
Debian. But I might be convinced otherwise.

Well, with the information given in Hilko's reply I suggest tp

Bug#746632: ITP: django-simple-captcha -- Django Simple Captcha Django application

  Upstream Author : Marco Bonetti

  Programming Lang: Python
Description : Django Simple Captcha Django application

Django Simple Captcha is an extremely simple, yet highly customizable
Django application to add captcha images to any Django form.

This is used by a Django application I maintain.

The source package is django-simple-captcha, the binary will probably
have to be renamed to python-captcha to make it Debian python policy
compliant.

With this in mind, I have a package available at:
https://code.vpac.org/debian/pool/main/d/django-simple-captcha/

Later: Just accidentally noticed that the name (python-captcha) has
already been taken in Debian, by a packaging that looks rather different
(for Python, not Django), so I may not actually be able to do this.

However, already entered most of this report now, so I am going submit
it like it or not :-).

Bug#746634: src:usbmuxd: Propose to keep up with usbmuxd in github's.

2014-05-02 Thread nozzy nozzy
Package: src:usbmuxd
Version: 1.0.8-5
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

In my debian box(jessie/sid), I also met bug #746561. I built the latest
version of usbmuxd downloaded from
https://github.com/libimobiledevice/usbmuxd and that bug seems to totaly
disappear and libimobiledevice-utls/ifuse works fine with iOS7.1.1.

I'd like to propose to change upstream source to that in github.

Also I'd like to propse patch of 'debian' directory diff'ed with
usbmuxd-1.0.8-5.

 How to use this patch:

Step 1. Apply patch to libimobiledevice reported in bug #746630,
build libimobiledevice pkg , and install them.

Step 2. Download the latest usbmuxd source from
https://github.com/libimobiledevice/usbmuxd.

Step 3. Copy 'debian' directory included submuxd-1.0.8-5 source package
to usbmuxd source shown in Step 2.

Step 4. Apply patch attached this report , and delete follwing files.
   - debian/usbmuxd.docs
   - debian/usbmuxd.install
   - debian/iproxy.1
   - debian/patches/Disable-building-of-libusbmuxd-and-tools.patch
   - debian/patches/Revert-ifdef-USBMUXD_DAEMON.patch
   - debian/Set-OWNER-in-udev-rule.patch

   Finally build usbmuxd package.

Hi again,

 One problem is that:

 +export DEB_LDFLAGS_APPEND=-Wl,--as-needed dpkg-buildflags --get LDFLAGS

 should be:

 +export DEB_LDFLAGS_APPEND=-Wl,--as-needed

But it seems the real issue is actually that the export doesn't happen
 before the $(shell dpkg-buildflags --export=configure) gets expanded.

A simple fix is to just specify it there directly:

      $(shell DEB_LDFLAGS_APPEND=-Wl,--as-needed dpkg-buildflags
 --export=configure)

yes, that one did the trick, thanks! should be good enough :)

so I also checked the webkitgtk build archs, and seems to be supported on every
arch, but *not* on gnu hurd (failng to build)
https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=webkitgtksuite=sid

is this a problem? hurd shouldn't be a release architecture, and shouldn't
prevent the testing migration.

what do you think?

I hope they'll fix soon the hurd build failure,

thanks,

Gianfranco

 Cheers,

I think it isn't something to worry about too much.

And older versions of webkitgtk have built OK on hurd, so I'd guess it's

Bug#745881: Please upload!

Cool!

I'd like to have a short period of co-maintainership to make sure the
carving out of libcapi20 works well and any necessary coordination
between the two packages is in place. I also still have a few changes
here (from experimental and my local repo) that would be beneficial to
have for isdnutils. I suggest you add yourself to Uploaders for the
meantime and make another NMU (or regular upload since you are then in
the uploads field, not sure). I think it would be best to have the
current NMU migrate to testing first in any case.

Bug#674755: Processed: Missing /run/shm breaks xshmfence

2014-05-02 Thread Martin Pitt
Keith Packard [2014-05-01 23:02 -0700]:
  looking at libxshmfence_1.1-2, it's debian/rules use
--with-shared-memory-dir=/tmp so I don't see how the package is broken,
am I looking at the wrong package?

/tmp is definitively broken. It should be /dev/shm/ or /run/shm/,
nothing else.

For now, eglibc treats /dev/shm/ as the canonical path. /run/shm/ was
a Debianism because it was thought to be prettier. Arguably it is,
but then again there's lots of paths which are ugly but which we can't
just change (/etc/, /usr/, etc.). codesearch.debian.net indeed doesn't
reveal too much stuff that actually depends on /run/shm/, most hits
seem to be fallback paths to support the Debian specific location. So
I'd recommend using /dev/shm/ as that works everywhere (it's a symlink
under sysvinit).

I consider any change like this across a sysvinit-systemd transition
to be a bug in systemd at this point; my system was working, and a
transition to systemd caused it to stop working.

Yes, agreed. Until all references to /run/shm/ are gone, we should
keep a /run/shm - /dev/shm/ compat symlink. Even more so as long as
https://wiki.debian.org/ReleaseGoals/RunDirectory is still an official
goal. So I consider the lack of the /run/shm/ symlink a bug, too.

I'd love it if glibc offered an API to create an anonymous unnamed file
in shmfs. Right now, I'm using:

 #define SHMDIR /run/shm

If you change this to /dev/shm/ this seems reasonably portable to me
to other distros.

   fd = open(SHMDIR, O_TMPFILE|O_RDWR|O_CLOEXEC|O_EXCL, 0666);

I can't see how any application could responsibly use shm_open as that
API appears to present all of the usual /tmp races which we've worked
hard to eliminate. glibc doesn't appear to provide any other API for
creating a temporary anonymous memory file.

As long as you use O_EXCL this should be fine?

Thanks,

Martin

Hey Christoph,

Good news: Upstream fixed the issue. I expect the next release within
the next four to six weeks. In my understanding the bug you've
encountered isn't that important it requires an immediate upload to
Debian. But I might be convinced otherwise.
Cool! I'm not in a particular hurry, I noticed this in a pedantic
wild-guess lintian warning, no rush there.

Bug#743942: shared-mime-info: All .asc files are recognized as OpenPGP files (fixed in 1.3)

2014-05-02 Thread u
hello,

I prepared a patch for bug #743942, which you will find here [1].
It is just the new upstream version plus an updated debian/changelog entry.
I also uploaded it a modified package here
https://mentors.debian.net/package/shared-mime-info

The package has been tested in Sid, and only .asc files with armor
headers are
now recognized as being OpenPGP files.

How do you want to proceed from here on? What do you prefer: would you
upload this new version, sponsor my NMU or would you be ok if Holger
sponsors it?

I'd be equally interested in co-maintaining shared-mime-info with you
and either prepare a 1.3-2 soon (there ae 3 other bugs with patches,
which seeem to be easy targets) or even include those changes in 1.3-1.
For now I just wanted to address #743942 but if you don't mind I'd like
to work on more.

cheers,
ulrike

Bug#746643: OpenCL not supported by lastest NVIDIA driver

2014-05-02 Thread Pascal Obry
Package: nvidia-kernel-dkms
Version: 331.67-1

The nvidia-current-uvm.ko is not built and so OpenCL is not available
on GNU/Debian.

I'm using GNU/Debian unstable and kernel 3.14 (but I had the same
issue with 3.13).

Building nvidia-current-uvm.ko manually solves the issue. I have seen
this reported for
Ubuntu but not for Debian.

What I have done to fix the issue is:

# cd /usr/src/nvidia-current-331.67/
# vi dkms.conf

Add at then end:

 # uvm
 BUILT_MODULE_NAME[1]=nvidia-uvm
 DEST_MODULE_NAME[1]=${PACKAGE_NAME}-uvm
 BUILT_MODULE_LOCATION[1]=uvm/
 DEST_MODULE_LOCATION[1]=/updates/dkms
 MAKE[0]+=; make -C uvm module KERNEL_UNAME=${kernelver}
 KBUILD_EXTMOD=${dkms_tree}/${PACKAGE_NAME}/${PACKAGE_VERSION}/build/uvm
 CLEAN+=; make -C uvm clean

# dkms remove nvidia-current/331.67 -k $(uname -r)
# dkms build nvidia-current/331.67

Then reboot, or:

# insmod /var/lib/dkms/nvidia-current/331.67/$(uname
-r)/x86_64/module/nvidia-current-uvm.ko

Note that all the sources are already in Debian source package, just
that part of it is not built.

The status didn't change, the strategy from us was to remove it from
testing for now and not let it re-enter until a non-hal version exists.

Just a side note: afaics the last release is from 24-Feb-2008.
Is this package still actively developed?

There's more recent code in git (http://git.xfce.org/apps/squeeze/), and
especially a non hal port, but I'm unsure its state at that point (thus
the reason for the testing removal).

Let's proceed with the removal from unstable as well.

ftp-master, same thing as squeeze, thunar-vfs uses hal so Michael wants
 it to go from unstable.

Ok so it failed the first time, redo-it.

Propagate the already available solution from the unstable to the stable

we did in sid/testing nothing different saying like for stable-security.
There is currently in all Icedove versions a symbol mismatching between
the core Icedove itself and the original Lightning extension. We working
on that. The symbol mismatch did not happen with the equivalent Debian
package for Lightning - 'iceowl-extension'.

So remove Lightning and please use iceowl-extension instead.

There are many json files used for testing and lintian gives following

 ruby-twitter: source-contains-prebuilt-javascript-object
spec/fixtures/configuration.json means line length is about 1318

I have overridden them but I wanted to ask here if it is okay before I

Please also tell the lintian about these; the files are data, not

Bug#746647: wicd-curses broken dependency on kfreebsd-i386

2014-05-02 Thread Fabio
Package: wicd-curses
Version: 1.7.2.4-4
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 7.2

Dear Maintainer,
as already reported in #612501 bug for wicd-kde, it seems that
wicd-curses cannot be installed on kfreebsd-i386 architecture,
since it depends on wicd-daemon package, which in turn depends
on wireless-tools package, only available on linux kernels.
I suppose the same issue exists on all wicd user interfaces
(e.g. wicd-gtk) and on kfreebsd-amd64 too, although i didn't
chek.
Thank you for your kind attention!

Bug#730756: libimobiledevice crash, fails to get buid from usbmuxd...

2014-05-02 Thread Josep M. Perez Cancer

Hi,

Apparently usbmuxd is not expecting the ReadBUID command:

[11:56:02.254][4] New client on fd 14
[11:56:18.430][5] Client command in fd 14 len 501 ver 1 msg 8 tag 10

[11:56:18.430][5] send_pkt fd 14 tag 10 msg 8 payload_length 278

I also see that the versions of usbmuxd and libusbmuxd do not match:
usbmuxd 1.0.8
libusbmuxd 1.0.9

Perhaps that is the real problem.

Cheers,
Josep M. Perez

On 30/04/14 18:53, Andreas Henriksson wrote:

Hello!

Thanks for the backtrace you provided in your bug report!

It looks to me like the problem is in this snippet from libimobiledevice
src/lockdown.c :

 /* set SystemBUID */
 userpref_read_system_buid(system_buid);
 plist_dict_set_item(*pair_record, USERPREF_SYSTEM_BUID_KEY,
plist_new_string(system_buid));

userpref_read_system_buid, which calls usbmuxd_read_buid, fails for some reason
and system_buid remains/becomes NULL and when it gets passed as an argument
to plist_new_string being NULL the code explodes.

The return code from userpref_read_system_buid should be checked.
  * @return 1 if the system buid could be retrieved or 0 otherwise.

Next question to investigate is why does usbmuxd_read_buid fail?

Do you think you could add a call to libusbmuxd_set_debug_level(99)
to libimobiledevice, build it and reproduce the problem and provide
the debug output from libusbmuxd? This should give us an idea
where it's failing.

(For reference see implementation of usbmuxd_read_buid:

This package provides software that helps communicating with Suunto Ambit

The main motivation for me to package this is because I need it to avoid
being forced to use a Microsoft Windows machine to synchronize my brand
new shiny Suunto Ambit 2 watch...:-)

Suunto only officially supports Windows and doesn't plan to provide Linux
versions of the software that helps communicating with the watch
and sync its data to the Movescount website.

That package would indeed be useful to all users of Debian who own
a Suunto Ambit watch for outdoor activities.

Bug#746566: gdal-bin: ogr2ogr fails to create SQLite db using SPATIALITE=YES

2014-05-02 Thread Sebastiaan Couwenberg
Control: tags -1 confirmed

Hi Andy,

Thanks for reporting this issue.

I can reproduce the problem with the lakes.gml sample file shipped with
QGIS. It takes almost 8 minutes to create the spatialite database.

Creating an empty spatialite database is near instantaneous with the
spatialite commandline tool. It takes ogr2ogr significantly longer to
get its spatialite database to the same size.

ogr2ogr is taking a long time to populate the spatial_ref_sys table.
Possibly because GDAL no longer contains EPSG data (#745702) so it needs
to fall back to using PROJ.4 for each projection.

I'm currently working on updating the GDAL packaging for the recent
1.11.0 release, and intent to address the EPSG issue with that.
Hopefully that also solves this spatialite issue.

Kind Regards,

Bas

Thanks for reporting this issue.

The cubewerx_extra.wkt file and a couple of others are stripped from the
upstream tarball because their licensing is unclear. (#721343)

Both files included in /usr/share/gdal/1.10/epsg.wkt are no longer
available (the other is esri_extra.wkt).

I'm currently working on updating the GDAL packaging for the recent
1.11.0 upstream release, and intent to address this issue in the process.

And in regards to the acpi/apic, we have no use for it.

10 years ago, when Linux and many BIOS support for ACPI was quite buggy,
acpi=off was a useful workaround. Same for the APIC architecture and
noapic.

Today, disabling use of these features is a terrible idea because the
old modes of operation is not so well-tested.

That's usually the first thing I disable if there are unexpected
shutdown issues like this. Does this keep the system from getting a
 signal 15?

No, but it potentially introduces new problems.

@Laurent: How far did you get with your packaging? Just-started or
 almost-finished stage?

I think my pkg is almost ready, it just miss the description (and
probably some runtime dependency against the appstream data pkg).

You can find my pkg at: http://people.debian.org/~bigon/gnome-software/
Our packages are different, because I obviously didn't use the
GNOME-team packaging guidelines ;-)
Does GS work for you? If so, where did you get the metadata from,
since GS doesn't use appstream-index data in Debian (yet), and with
the version you packaged it also isn't able yet to consume other
metadata sources (except plain .desktop files).

If it's ok I'll commit it to the GNOME team svn
Yes, but can you maybe add me as co-maintainer?

We should test this stuff in experimental, together with PK 0.9, as
soon as it becomes ready (I am working on the remaining dependencies,
but since this is also upstream work, it might take a little bit more
time)
Cheers,
   Matthias

P.S: Just curiousity: Does the GNOME-team policy allow maintaining
stuff in Git as well? Or is SVN mandatory?

Bug#500965: This bug is causing real problems now

2014-05-02 Thread Santiago Vila
severity 500965 normal
thanks

For a lot of years this has not been a big problem, but now Yahoo and
others are using a policy called DMARC (built on top of DKIM and SPF)
and at least Yahoo is actually rejecting messages failing these kind
of digital signatures.

The following text comes from DMARC FAQ:

(see http://dmarc.org/faq.html#s_3)

I operate a mailing list and I want to interoperate with DMARC, what
 should I do?

 1. Operate strictly as a forwarder, where the RFC5321.RcptTo field
is changed to send the message to list members, but the RFC5322
message headers and body are not altered.

 Pros:

Receiving systems can validate the DKIM signature of the message
author, if one was present.

 Cons:

Senders that depend solely on SPF for authentication will still
fail. Precludes many customary features of mailing lists, such as
Subject: tags, list footers/disclaimers, etc.

(There are other solutions, but I don't think you will want to append
.INVALID to every yahoo.com address in a From: line).

Debian lists have always kept the Subject unmodified, so this is not a
problem for us. The main problem is that we add footers to every
message. Example:

To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org
with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
Archive: https://lists.debian.org/etc

Messages already have RFC-2369 conformant headers for the unsubscribe
information, namely:

List-Unsubscribe:
mailto:debian-devel-requ...@lists.debian.org?subject=unsubscribe

For the Trouble? part we already have the List-Help: header.

What's left? The Archive information. As this is a single line, this
could be modified to be a header as well:

X-Debian-Archive: https://lists.debian.org/etc

To summarize: While it could be fancy and nice to have such
information in the body, and many mailing lists often do this,
by doing so we are breaking interoperability with other email
systems. I propose that we stop doing that by not using footers
in our lists.

The other solution is to change the From: address in the body (which
is called RFC5322.From header in current documentation) but that
would break direct replies.

Maybe this would be needed for lists like debian-devel-changes, where
the email is actually originated at ftp-master:

From: Somebody somebody at example.com

Thanks.

God knows I'm not an expert on security matters but I asked DDs who

idea. In light of recent events, being able to do IMAP and POP3 over SSL
out of the box would be great but will using the snakeoil certificate
actually be secure or just give the illusion of security? If so, that is

Bug#745938: the future of sparc in unstable

2014-05-02 Thread Hermann Lauer
Just to let all know: Here are Sun Enterprise 880,480,280 and 450
running wheezy (and still squeeze) fine, there are only minor issues with
those kernels (look at the linux sparc mailing list and in the debian BTS if
you are interested - or ask) here. In the small timeslots left I even
compiled sometimes vanilla kernels (make deb-pkg), and it's a pity
(but understandable) that jessie sparc will not be.

Huge thanks at this point to all the past releases sparc maintainers !

Time is always the problem but if it helps I can offer hosting
of a build machine out of our Sun Enterprises, if that would help.

What is the maillist to follow sparc-port issues ?

Thanks, Hermann

Bug#746657: weboob: boobank/bp regression when used from skrooge

2014-05-02 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: weboob
Version: 0.h-1
Severity: important

Hi,

using skrooge 1.9 (either in sid, or backported to wheezy), weboob 0.h-1
gives funky results (multi-million account), while 0.c-4.1 behaves just
fine.

I don't think that's due to a conversion error since the amount is the
same with either £ or € as the default unit.

Interestingly, things like “boobank list” are looking fine, so I suspect
something broke in the API used by skrooge.

Trying to go back in time to see if I could narrow down the version
introducing the regression, I've encountered various unrelated errors
(certificate not being accepted), so I couldn't gather more intel.

Mraw,
KiBi.

I believe the other RM: bug I filed today needs to be processed first,
 so gnunet-gtk is gone already.

The --rdep-check output is not clean because (i) some depend on Arch:all
packages either of the same source package, or on others and (ii) some
are Build-Depends of packages which have no hurd-i386 binaries (but dak
rm --rdep-check does not grok that).

The output of the above list, and the package erlang-cowboy
 erlang-jiffy gnunet-fuse haskell-libzip octave-financial
 octave-statistics octave-vrml pd-jmmmp pd-mapping silversearcher-ag-el
using -a=hurd-i386,all -B on coccia.debian.org is attached, it shows the

2014-05-02 Thread Christoph Biedl
Hi there,

the lines
| ! I can't find file `ecrm1095'.
in the build log were pretty obivous.

So: Add a build-dependency on texlive-fonts-recommended to fix the
issue, and get table of contents contents for free.

Worked at least for me.

Bug#746659: google-mock: depends on python:all

2014-05-02 Thread Sven Joachim
Package: google-mock

Severity: serious

Your package depends on python:all, a dependency which makes no sense
and which apt considers unsatisfiable, although dpkg apparently has no
problem with it. According to the Debian changelog you meant
python:any instead.

Bug#745711: RFA: downtimed -- monitor of downtime, shutdown, and crashes

2014-05-02 Thread Mats Erik Andersson
Hello there,

this is the previous maintainer talking. I object at the
intent to adopt this package without my knowledge, since
I already have found one candidate and whose name is
___not___ Stefan Brauer.

As far as I understand the Debian policy documents and
good conduct, the publication of an RFA does not declare
a package to be public prey, to be handled by arbitrary
means, ignoring the previous maintainer.

Regards,

You can change already the MIRRORNAME parameter of all your ftpsync*.conf

Could you please update the MIRRORNAME parameter of all your ftpsync*.conf, so
that the local trace file match the site name ?

Otherwise, automated tools (including http.debian.net) cannot 'guess' the trace

Bug#746369: AW: Bug#746369: RFS: downtimed/0.6.2

One thing I noticed is that upstream has an Upstart job, but you are not
shipping it. Simply making a symlink from debian/downtimed.upstart to
  startup-scripts/upstart-startup.conf should do the trick.

Updated package is present on mentors with the appropriate upstart link.

Nothing is settled as to Stefan Bauer being accepted as the new maintainer.

Regards,
Mats E Andersson, DM and present maintainer of downtimed.

Bug#710554: kopete: cannot connect to google talk/jabber account

2014-05-02 Thread Aaron

Hi,

I think the bug can be closed since it is not reproducible anymore. It seems
the problem was with kopeterc file. The solution that worked for me was to
delete the file and let kopete to recreate it anew.

Bug#746661: wine64-dev-tools: winebuild not functionable

2014-05-02 Thread Patrick Winnertz
Source: wine64-dev-tools
Version: 1.6.2-8
Severity: important

Dear Maintainers,

while packaging lmms I run into a bug trying to use wineg++ and winegcc, which
are
currently installed at /usr/lib/arch/wine/bin/

Manually invoking wineg++ with it's full path doesn't help here, as it depends
on winebuild which is not in $PATH, but also in the same folder.

I can circumvent this by addding /usr/lib/arch/wine/bin to the build path,
which is
a quite ugly hack as the path has to be changed on the different architectures.

In previous versions this was solved in a better way, winegcc and co, were
located in
/usr/bin/.

Would it be possible to move these binaries once again into a folder which is
in the
default $PATH?

Greetings

Bug#746662: add install-time option to place grub-efi in removable media path

2014-05-02 Thread Leif Lindholm
Package: debian-installer
Version: 20140316
Severity: wishlist

There are many platforms out there with broken UEFI implementations.
It would be useful to in the UEFI installer have a way of instructing
the installer to place GRUB in the removable media loader path (as
defined by the UEFI specification for the given architecture).

This could be similar to the traditional do you want me to update the
MBR with an entry for your boot loader dialog.

I can confirm that the patches from [0] solved the problem. I've
patched Debian's mesa 10.1.1. Some Cairo-Dock icons are looking bit
froggy now. But this I have to investigate further. Foobillardplus
plays fine. Please find attached quilt refreshed patches. I didn't
have time to test those patches on other platforms, though.

Bug#735519: mirror submission for jaran.undip.ac.id

I'm sorry for my reply delay.
It's fixed now. Hopefully it can be reached using http, ftp and fsync.

Two stage syncing has been already done. And it's cron-ed for 2 time a day.

It's not synced using the tool ftpsync recommended at
https://www.debian.org/mirror/ftpmirror#wherefrom
Could you please consider using the ftpsync tool ?

Or https://www.debian.org/mirror/anonftpsync
Indeed, specific rsync options and commands are required.

Bug#746663: opensc: SmartCard-HSM card does not list RSA 2048 public keys

2014-05-02 Thread Marc Deslauriers
Package: opensc
Version: 0.13.0-3
Severity: normal

*** /tmp/tmpsB0qMw/bug_body

OpenSC 0.13.0 does not list RSA public keys which are of 2048 bits in size on
a SmartCard-HSM smart card.

Although the keys are listed after on-card key generation, only the private
key is listed later. This issue does not appear for keys of 1024 bits in size
on the same card.

See Ubuntu bug for steps to reproduce.

In Ubuntu, the attached patch was applied to achieve the following:

  * debian/patches/0003-fix-sc-hsm-rsa2048.patch:
Add upstream fix to show generated RSA public keys of 2048 bits.
Cherry-picking commit:
- 99af6cd sc-hsm: Fixed a bug that prevents a newly generated 2048 [...]
(LP: #1311921)

Thanks for considering the patch.

Bug#662726: somewhat polished version of git-debcherry

2014-05-02 Thread David Bremner

Prompted by Manoj's success stories of using the script in the wild, I
finally got around to writing a manpage for the current version
git-debcherry.

You can find a patch series at

git://pivot.cs.unb.ca/gitpkg.git

branch: for-ron

If you think git-debcherry has gotten too unwieldy for gitpkg (it's now
half the size of gitpkg itself), I can split that off and just give you
the hook. On the other hand, there is a pretty close dependence, so if
you can stomach it, it probably makes the most sense to include it with
gitpkg, at least until git-debcherry becomes very stable (when it could
maybe move to devscripts).

Bug#741743: Probable cause of the FTBFS

2014-05-02 Thread Georges Khaznadar
Dear Juhani,

thank you for your hint!

unfortunately, files installed to usr/local are generally not a possible
cause for FTBFS bugs. In the worst case, the package is built
successfully, but some files are not copied to the binary package.

Best regards, Georges.

Please try to fix this so kicad can re-enter testing. Thanks!

possibly both. Hannu, Michael, could you have a look at this?

Bug#746579: libwww-perl: HTTPS_CA_DIR or HTTPS_CA_FILE disables peer certificate verification for IO::Socket::SSL

2014-05-02 Thread Jakub Wilk

* Jakub Wilk jw...@debian.org, 2014-05-01, 17:24:
If LWP uses IO::Socket::SSL as SSL socket class (this is the default),
setting HTTPS_CA_DIR or HTTPS_CA_FILE environment variable disables(!)
server cerificate verification:

This is what's going on:

In LWP::UserAgent we have this:

   elsif ($ENV{HTTPS_CA_FILE} || $ENV{HTTPS_CA_DIR}) {
   # Crypt-SSLeay compatibility (verify peer certificate; but not the
hostname)
   $ssl_opts-{verify_hostname} = 0;
   $ssl_opts-{SSL_verify_mode} = 1;
   }

But in LWP::Protocol::HTTPS we have this:

   if (delete $ssl_opts{verify_hostname}) {
   $ssl_opts{SSL_verify_mode} ||= 1;
   $ssl_opts{SSL_verifycn_scheme} = 'www';
   }
   else {
   $ssl_opts{SSL_verify_mode} = 0;
   }

So the intention was to disable only hostname verification, for
compatibility with Crypt::SSLeay (why?!), but the effect is that the
SSL_verify_mode is set to 0.
