Conf.d is parsed before sites-enabled (which includes the directives for the default page), so the default is no longer the default. In my case, it brought down my employer's website in favor of the LDAP web configuration site. That didn't go over so well with the boss. Can I ask how is it possible that this snippet: IfModule mod_alias.c Alias /phpldapadmin /usr/share/phpldapadmin/htdocs /IfModule can replace your website with a phpLDAPadmin installation? It seems to be impossible, as it should only mount the software under /phpldapadmin. When apache2.conf is loaded, it first includes ../conf.d to pick up miscellaneous server configurations and then includes ../sites-enable to pick up configurations relating to particular sites. (Sites in this context doesn't just refer to vhosts or separate domains. It refers to any self-contained URL and related directory structure like the phpLDAPadmin page.) I'll have a look at the relevant documentation, but after a long e-mail as yours I would think that you have good reasons to insist on this issue. :) Alias and Directory directives are precisely what should go into the ../sites-available directory. They are the principal directives (in addition to VirtualHost) that control virtual hosting and directory structure rewriting rules. The apache conf for phpldapadmin contains exactly the same sort of information as in /etc/apache2/sites-available/default. (I note, by the way, that the phpLDAPadmin apache.conf file also includes vhost information, which would clearly part of sites-available.) This has just a endeavour: phpldapadmin won't be accessible and enabled by default, and the system administrator will have to manually run a2ensite in order to enable the alias directive in his configuration. Bug#395306: dovecot-common: Please, compile with inotify support
On gio, 26 ott 2006, Vincent Bernat wrote: Package: dovecot-common Version: 1.0.rc10-2 Severity: wishlist Hi ! Compiling dovecot with inotify support could boost performances. I think you need to source depend on linux-kernel-header since inotify should be on by default if correct header is installed. Build-depending on linux-kernel-headers would render dovecot not buildable on non-linux ports (like, for example, GNU/kFreeBSD). On mer, 18 ott 2006, Brian Sutherland wrote: Hi Andreas, The error you describe is probably from trying to build schoolbell with Zope3.3 which was lately uploaded in an un-coordinated fashion. Are you talking about uploads in Debian? Zope3.3 has been uploaded a few days after the official release, so the lately doesn't apply to the context. SchoolBell needs to be updated to work with Zope 3.3, but it looks as if upstream is not willing to make that happen. No outside volunteers have appeared to take over that role. Bug#391758: Upgrade path for plone 2.1 - 2.5
severity 391758 important thanks Hi, first of all, let's downgrade the severity of the bug report: plone 2.1 is not part of a stable release: sarge includes plone 2.0.4 which is not managed by dzhandle, so it is not affected by this issue. Anyway, this affaire could be problematic for etch+1 so it surely needs attention. I'll deeply test the upgrade path from 2.1 to 2.5 in the next days, as well as a bunch of other changes for zope-common I'd like to do before the general freeze. One thing which I would need is a good testing of upgrades.. are you available for a few test upgrades in the next days if I hand you the new packages before the uploads? Bug#384437: Installation report from Dell PowerEdge 2950
systems:[O] Mount partitions: [O] Install base system:[O] Install boot loader:[O] Reboot: [E] Comments/Problems: The server has a DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card) which allows the remote administration of the system and which provides virtual floppy and cd-rom drives. One of them (I suppose the cd-rom one) is supported as removable scsi device. The two SCSI disks are configured in RAID-1 with a SCSI RAID controller which requires the metaraid_sas module. In the first part of the installation, this module wasn't loaded so the removable SCSI device was /dev/sda and the SCSI disks weren't accessible. After the Detect hard drives phase, the megaraid_sas module was loaded and the RAID-1 disk were detected as /dev/sdb. After the first reboot, the machine failed to start: 1. The initrd didn't load the megeraid_sas module, so the disk wasn't detected. 2. After booting in rescue mode, adding megaraid_sas to the list of modules to load (/etc/initramfs-tools/modules) and run update-initramfs, the problem was that megaraid_sas was loaded before the removable SCSI module so the RAID disk was detected as /dev/sda instead of /dev/sdb. 3. After booting again in rescue mode and changing /etc/fstab to match /dev/sda, the system went up. I wonder why the installer doesn't add megaraid_sas to the list of additional modules for initramfs if it uses that module to detect the disks? And, in any case, this will change the order of the disk devices depending on the order with the modules are loaded. Thanks, -- Fabio Tranchitella [EMAIL PROTECTED].''`. First of all, I adjusted the severity of the report because the package is installable in a clean testing/unstable environment, and we are not going to support upgrade from plone-site (based on zope2.8) and the actual version of plone-site because the former wasn't included in sarge. Now, let's go ahead. I am running Debian testing on i386. I just upgraded to plone-site 2.5-1 and Zope 2.9. I was running the previous release on Plone on Zope 2.8. After the upgrade Plone would not work on Zope 2.8 or Zope 2.9. There is no Plone Site option in the Select type to add... dropdown box in the Zope Management Interface. The only options related to Plone are Plone Language Tool and PlonePAS Tool. I backed up my data files, purged all Zope and Plone packages, and reinstalled but had the same results. I also tried installing plone-site on an AMD64/testing with the same results. I suspect you are still looking at the zope2.8 instance which (obviously) will be broken by the upgrade. Everything starts with a Zope2.8 plone-site instance, then you upgrade plone-site which does: 1. upgrade all the zope-* packages to be compatible with Plone 2.5 2. install zope2.9 (because Plone 2.5 requires it) 3. create a new plone-site instance for zope2.9 4. leave untouched the old zope2.8-based plone-site instance. Yeah, I could remove the old zope2.8-based plone-instance but this would mean data-loss; an automatic migration between zope2.8 and zope2.9 is not supported, so there are no other solutions. Please let me know if there is anything else I should try. Thanks for all your hard work maintaining the plone packages. Could you please confirm me that you are looking at the zope2.9 instance? And, please, could you attach to your bug report the list of zope packages installed (something like `dpkg -l | grep zope` is enough). Bug#378364: [Pkg-zope-developers] Bug#378364: zope-common: upgrades restart all instances, not just those in /etc/default/zope*

I'm closing the report, but feel free to re-open it if you do not agree and/or have a better idea/implementation. The behavior continues to seem undesirable for me, and I see a number of problem areas: 1) upgrades respecting runlevel 2) upgrades respecting instance selection in /etc/default/ 3) documentation. I may have misunderstood or missed something, however. Restart behaviour on upgrades can't be unified with system start-up behaviour: I have several zope instances which I can't restart untill the week-end or holidays, and in this way I can upgrade the machine at any day, and then plan the restart. Even if an instance is started at boot-time, this doesn't mean it is useful for me if apt tries to restart it on upgrade. Also, think about the product upgrades: Plone 2.0.2 - 2.0.3 requires migration, and this is something which I would prefer to do in a second moment for **a particular** instance. So, about the bug: what about restarting instances only if it is already running? In my opinion this is the best solution. Anyway, I'll add some documentation about the restart-policy (even if my english is terrible). Especially for this last point, any help is welcome. What could we do about this? Put ATContentTypes, PloneErrorReporting and PloneLanguageTool in the same package that CMFPlone? In my opinion, the best thing to do is to downgrade the dependencies on ATContentTypes, PloneErrorReporting and PloneLanguageTool as Recommends instead of Depends. Bug#370435: invalid argument supplied for foreach()
Il giorno lun, 05/06/2006 alle 11.06 +0200, Giuseppe Sacco ha scritto: Package: phpldapadmin Version: 0.9.8.3-1 Hi Fabio, Hi Giuseppe, thanks for your report. I had a new installation of a local LDAP server, created an ou=rubrica, changed authorization on my /etc/ldap/slapd.conf and reconnected with phpldapadmin using the admin user. Could you please send me the configuration file of phpldapadmin (obviously clearing out all your secret data as, for example, passwords) and the authorization section from your /etc/ldap/slapd.conf? A dump of your ldap directory would help, too: reading your report it seems that it is quite simple, so it could be a good test case for upstream, too. This is not a general problem, so I'm quite sure that there is a particular configuration which triggers it. Please report this bug by clicking below! Moreover, there were no link below :-) Oh, this is a funny behaviour of phpldapadmin! It seems that the upstream developers do not want to receive bug reports at all. :) Ciao! -- Fabio Tranchitella http://www.kobold.it Free Software Developer and Consultant http://www.tranchitella.it _ 1024D/7F961564, fpr 5465 6E69 E559 6466 BF3D 9F01 2BF8 EE2B 7F96 1564 signature.asc Description: Questa è una parte del messaggio firmata digitalmente
