Bug#1023809: libtagsoup-java: make icedtea-netx unusable

2022-11-10 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Package: libtagsoup-java
Version: 1.2.1+-1.1
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: m...@aruba.it

Dear Maintainer,
investigating further on https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=993798 we discover that the workaround we applied
concerns your package (/usr/share/java/tagsoup-1.2.1.jar) and not icedtea-netx.
May be it is possible to correct the bug for Debian 12 (bookworm) ...
Regards!

Guido

Bug#941409: libreoffice-sdbc-mysql: wrong TIME values saving with native connection over a MariaDB database

2019-09-30 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Package: libreoffice-sdbc-mysql
Version: 1:6.3.2-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
we create a new table with a TIME field in a new Base file with native
connection over a MariaDB database.
If we input in Base some values like 01:00:00, 02:00:00, 03:00:00 they are
sometimes saved in the database as -01:00:00, -02:00:00, -03:00:00 but
displayed in Base as 01:00:00, 02:00:00, 03:00:00, sometimes saved and
displayed as 00:00:00 and sometimes correctly saved and displayed.
Using the incorporated database (Firebird) or the LibreOffice buster version
(with libreoffice-mysql-connector) values are correctly saved.
Regards!

Guido

Bug#911592: [thunderbird] version 60.0-3 can't send emails with self signed certificate

2018-11-19 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi Carsten, we solve the problem using an OpenPGP certificate with Enigmail
instead of a X.509 self signed certificate. For us you can close the bug ...

Bug#884112: [libmysqlcppconn7v5] only 64 characters displayed on every VARCHAR table field

2018-11-09 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi Rene, we try upgrading to version 1.1.9-3 but the error is still here.
Blocking libmysqlcppconn7v5 to version 1.1.7-4 (and libreoffice-mysql-
connector to version 1.0.2+LibO5.4.2-3) to workaround the problem will be
acceptable for Debian 10?

Bug#913054: [kmail] error:141A318A:SSL routines:tls_process_ske_dhe:dh key too small

2018-11-07 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Dear maintainer, thanks to this message
https://lists.debian.org/debian-kde/2018/11/msg1.html
we discover that to workaround the problem it is not necessary to downgrade
openssl but it is sufficient changing back the defaults in /etc/ssl/
openssl.cnf to previous system wide defaults using:

[system_default_sect]
#MinProtocol = TLSv1.2
#CipherString = DEFAULT@SECLEVEL=2
MinProtocol = None
CipherString = DEFAULT

We also verify that with Thunderbird it is not necessary to change back the
defaults in /etc/ssl/openssl.cnf ...

Bug#911592: [thunderbird] version 60.0-3 can't send emails with self signed certificate

2018-10-23 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi Carsten, we disable all AddOns and try to log with

 $ export MOZ_LOG=MsgCompose:5,SMTP:5,timestamp

but nothing is logged. When we push the send button we had this
Send Message Error:

Sending of the message failed.
You specified that this message should be digitally signed, but the
application either failed to find the signing certificate specified in your
Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings, or the certificate has expired.

even if a valid self signed certificate is selected in Account Settings -
Security - Digital Signing and Encryption.

Bug#875688: libreoffice-report-builder: Design view is missing and existing reports won't run

2017-10-30 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
retitle 875688 Design view is missing and existing reports won't run
tag 875688 - unreproducible

Hi,
we confirm the problem upgrading LibreOffice to version 5.4.2-3.
We test creating a new database and, as for John Talbut, there is no option to
"Create Report in Design View" so we change the title and delete the tag
unreproducible.
We also find that between Apr 30, 2017 (5.4.0 freeze) and Aug 13, 2017 (5.4.1
freeze https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan there was only one
commit: Enable the Formula Wizard to display 255 argument fields
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/reportbuilder hoping it would
be useful to solve the problem ...

Hi, we also confirm the bug after updating to 2.0.3-6 and the temporary
workaround manually running cupsd.
We have some clients running Testing and comparing the cups* running processes
we found that every client

/usr/sbin/cups-browsed
/usr/sbin/cupsd -l
/usr/lib/cups/notifier/dbus dbus://

but only the workarounded manually running cupsd has

Sorry to say it so bluntly, but running cups as root is the wrong
solution: if the launch by the init system doesn't work, it needs to be
fixed; having to manually run cupsd by hand can only be a temporary
 workaround.

Bug#749592: libreoffice-mysql-connector: doesn't work ignoring server configuration

Why? How does this render the whole package unusable?

You are right, unusable on remote connections (we can not test locally because
Libreoffice is on clients with jessie and MySQL is on server with wheezy) ...

upgrading some clients with testing from version 1.0.2+LibO4.1.6~rc2-1 to

  '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)

 ... do it locally?

Exactly!

Then IMHO it's still not grave as you can use it locally using a socket,
but yeah, it's bad as the normal use case is of course over the network...

Yes, we change severity to important.

 This sounds like
  - https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=745101 and
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77584
(which was pretty confusing, so was important only...)

Yes, but we are not over SSH tunnel ...

but that one also was found in 4.1.x (and even older.) whereas this one
 is new in 4.2.x...

That is intended behaviour. Scripts are not supposed to start long
running tasks. Please fix your scripts to not do that.

Afaics there is nothing to fix on the NM side, right Dan?

At the moment it's intended behavior. NM 0.9.9+ have bumped the timeout
to 20 seconds, and for 0.9.10 we're planning to make NetworkManager
block on dispatcher scripts for up/down. Obviously, that makes your
network connections take longer to connect or disconnect if the
dispatcher scripts are stupid, but then the stupid scripts need to get
fixed to not take so long.

Note that for NFS especially, network connections can drop without
warning, especially on WWAN/WiFi/Bluetooth, and at that point the
connection is completely gone, and NFS just has to handle that without
 blocking.

2012-02-16 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi Roger, we investigated more and perhaps we found the origin of the problem
both in Squeeze and Wheezy ...
Network was automatically configured on eth0 during installation and after we
install NetworkManager that modifies /etc/network/interfaces like this

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
#NetworkManager#iface eth0 inet dhcp

If we comment the second line like this

#NetworkManager#auto eth0

mountnfs does NFS mounts both in Squeeze and Wheezy.
Hoping that will be useful ...

Hi Roger, during last days we add to our LAN a machine with Squeeze and we get
the same problem, NetworkManager is waiting for
interface (even if interface is already up) not doing NFS mounts.
So in the machine with Wheezy we manualy correct symlinks

# ls -ld /etc/network/run

# ls -ld /etc/network/run/ifstate

# ls -l /run/network/ifstate
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6 feb 15 10:10 /run/network/ifstate

but the problem is still here

# /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs
if-up.d/mountnfs[]: waiting for interface eth0 before doing NFS mounts ...
(warning).

This is probably a bug in ifupdown, rather than initscripts. The
ifupdown postinst should do the migration. I'm not sure if this is
only done properly in the experimental version though, rather than
the testing/unstable version, which certainly does still contain
   /dev/shm/network references.

Andrew, could you possibly comment on this? If reassigned it to
ifupdown, since this is the package responsible for the symlinks.

As far as I know, this should be probably handled properly by
experimental version. I hope to release a new version to the end of
January; it will probably go into unstable.

That sounds great. Just let me know if you need the upload
 sponsoring.

Bug#656584: initscripts: /run transition: Please update /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs

2012-01-20 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-18
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
after update to initscripts (version 2.88dsf-18) NetworkManager is waiting for
interface (even if interface is already up) not doing NFS mounts.
I think is related to /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs, that is not updated to
/run transition at row 123:if ! grep -q $i /etc/network/run/ifstate ;
then
This may be now /run/network/ifstate, according to
http://wiki.debian.org/ReleaseGoals/RunDirectory
Kind regards!

Bug#656584: initscripts: /run transition: Please update /etc/network/if-up.d/mountnfs

2012-01-20 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi Roger, this is our symlink situation:

# ls -ld /etc/network/run
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 ago 16 10:58 /etc/network/run - /dev/shm/network
# ls -ld /etc/network/run/ifstate
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 6 gen 20 07:48 /etc/network/run/ifstate
# ls -l /run/network/ifstate
ls: impossibile accedere a /run/network/ifstate: File o directory non esistente

We have not (intentionally) modified compatibility symlinks ...
Regards!

This shouldn't cause any problems though, since /etc/network/run
is nowadays a symlink to /run/network:

 % ls -ld /etc/network/run
 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 12 Jun 8 2011 /etc/network/run - /run/network
 % ls -ld /etc/network/run/ifstate
 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16 Jan 20 09:01 /etc/network/run/ifstate
 % ls -l /run/network/ifstate
 -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16 Jan 20 09:01 /run/network/ifstate

Moving to the new path may also be troublesome, since ifupdown depends
on the new initscripts for it to transition to /run. That is, we need
to continue using the old path or else we'll have an unsatisfiable
circular dependency. The old paths will continue to be valid until
after wheezy for this reason. We could always try the new and then
fall back to the old path as an alternative.

So none of the above is to say that there isn't a bug, just that it's
probably not a result of the /run transition unless you deleted the
 compatibility symlinks.

 Regards,
 Roger

2011-09-26 Thread MAG4 Piemonte
Hi,

Can you try the debs from
 http://people.debian.org/~rene/libreoffice/3.4.3/test/srb?

The dependencies are not yet correct and this all needs fine-tuning,
(which I'd do tomorrow/over the weekend) but it is installable

we install all packages without problems and

Your bug should be fixed then, too...

we continue to be able to open all our reports with a Group by condition.

Greetings!

This work-around works for me, thanks:

 /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc

 TerminateServer=true

Thanks oz, this workaround don't works for us but if we put
TerminateServer=true in the [X-:*-Core] section it's ok.
