2009-06-11 Thread jjluza
Hi,

I've just upgraded vlc to 1.0.0-rc2 (experimental) and it doesn't crash
anymore.
There is still no video with mplayer, I'm not sure if the problem come from
the lib or the player.

Regards.

kdm fails to start a session after yesterday general system update. It
shows the login screen but fails when you try to start a session with every

This is related to a bug in debianutils. There are already several reports :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=526606

It's solved in debianutils 3.1.1 which is in sid. You only need to update
again.

Bug#363925: xkb-data: XF86AudioRaiseVolume defined twice for Logitech keyboards

2006-04-22 Thread jjluza
Hello

I confirm this bug for logicink keyboard definition too.

Also, there are other errors in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/inet

For logicink, XF86AudioMedia is defined twice too (it should be key I6D),
and key I69 should be XF86Go and not XF86Forward.

Typo error too that prevents logiciink from being loaded.
For logiciink keyboard definition there is :
include inet(logicinc)
but it should be :
include inet(logicink)
The problem is that there is some difference between these two kbd def. (cf
XF86Go and XF86Forward).

I don't open a bug report for each bug since I think there are other bugs, and
I guess you don't want to threat plenty of such bugs.

Regards.

Bug#341636: dpkg: Provides flag ignored ?

2005-12-01 Thread jjluza
Package: dpkg
Version: 1.13.11.0.1

I try to create a package that would provides another one.
To test the case, you can get a package, change its name and make it
provide the original one.
When my package is created, I try to install it, but I get some
dependency problem : dpkg tell me that the original package can't be
removed since some packages depend on it. But if my new package provides
the original one, I should be able to remove it, isn't it ?

Bug#338057: udev: Look at old and removed hotplug directories

2005-11-07 Thread jjluza
Package: udev
Version: 0.073-1
Severity: important

I just upgrade to version 0.074, and after rebooting, I get the messages
(very often) :

udev_run_devd: add_matching_files: unable to open '/etc/dev.d/bla' : No
such file or directory

udev_run_hotplugd: add_matching_files: unable to open
'/etc/hotplug.d/bla' : No such file or directory

I have no idea about what could cause that (except udev, but I may be
wrong). I look at the changelog.Debian.gz, but it doesn't explain what
are the change since 0.073. So I look at changelog.gz, but it's even
more empty about these changes.
I can't investigate about what could be wrong with this version. I
decide to downgrade to 0.073, and everything work like a charm again.

Regards,
JJ Luza.

I look at the changelog and I see only the changes, since Sid version,

These are changes between 6.8.99.901.dfsg.1-1 and 6.8.99.901.dfsg.1-2.
But I can't find changes between Sid version and 6.8.99.901.dfsg.1-1.

Maybe I made something wrong, so tell me.

of the command line.

Bug#335372: kde-kdm-themes: Can't find Linux Passion

2005-10-23 Thread jjluza
Package: kde-kdm-themes
Version: 3.4-1
Severity: normal

I just try this package and I try to use the theme called Linux Passion.
When I restart kdm, this theme is not found. I'm pretty sure I wrote it
properlyi in kdmrc. I even try Linux\ Passion, but none works. Finally, move the
directory /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/Linux\ Passion/ to
/usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/Linux_Passion/. Then I modify kdmrc and it
works.
So I wonder if spaces in kdm theme names are handled properly.

Thanks for your work. Except that, all work properly.

JJ Luza.

hey, you're right ! I'm a bit disappointed since I thought

So, it works properly with the simple way.

forgotten the trailling slash in the example too.

oops, I was not clear : it works without the trailing

I tried with the trailing slash before, but it didn't
work.
The solution I haven't tried was the simplest one : the
one without \ or , and it is the one (and maybe the only
one) which works in fact ;)

If you don't mind, I'm closing this bug now.

Bug#335396: kde-icons-crystalclear: Some icons missing for kopete (at least)

2005-10-23 Thread jjluza
Package: kde-icons-crystalclear
Version: 0.0.20050623-1
Severity: wishlist

I notice there are some icons missing in this package (yes, I know there
are always some missing ones in icon packages). The most important I've
noticed for the moment are :

- kopete one in actions section. A possible workaround is :
cd /usr/share/icons/crystalclear/22x22/
cp apps/kopete.png actions/
This icon appears in the kicker bar.

- other ones missing are :
22x22/apps/kopete_offline.png
22x22/apps/kopete_some_online.png
22x22/apps/kopete_some_away.png
22x22/apps/kopete_all_away.png

kmail have no icons in 22x22 too

Just a wishes ;)

Bug#329951: kdebase-kio-plugins: sftp:// kioslave doesn't ask if I want to remember this host

2005-09-24 Thread jjluza
Package: kdebase-kio-plugins
Version: 4:3.4.2-3
Severity: minor

If I try to connect to a host via sftp:// , konqueror should ask me
if I want to accept this host, but it doesn't always.

For example, if I try to connect from the console, I get :
(...)
but keys of different type are already known for this host.
(...)
Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes
(...)

In fact, I already have a known RSA key fingerprint for this host, but
now, it's a wrong fingerprint, and I want to change it (to a DSA one).
It seems that konqueror doesn't have the ability to do such a thing.
When I tried with konqueror, it just tries to connect without saying
nothing about the problem, and without success.

If I'm not clear, please tell me.

Regards.

Bug#328441: aptitude: Remove unused packages is sometimes too agressive

2005-09-16 Thread jjluza

If you don't want aptitude to remove unused packages, you can disable
this behavior in the configuration file. It's a core program feature and
 not going away.

Oh, no, this is the most useful feature for me, compared to apt-get.
The problem is just with metapackages.

I was going to additionally say that it's not even feasible to detect
metapackages, but I notice that debtags has a metapackage tag, so maybe
future versions of aptitude can use that to (optionally) override the usual
 decisions about what's automatically installed.

Ok, I still hope.

Bug#328441: aptitude: Remove unused packages is sometimes too agressive

2005-09-15 Thread jjluza
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.2.15.9-6
Severity: normal

I've just installed Sarge. When the installer installs packages, it use
meta-packages. For example, to install kde network packages (like kget,
krdc and others), it use the package kdenetwork. Good things.
But now, I want to remove kget, so it will automatically remove
kdenetwork, but it thinks others kdenetwork packages are unused (since
there were installed automatically via kdenetwork), and it wants to
remove them.
Here is the output of aptitude when I try to remove kget after
installing kdenetwork (this appears on Sid too) :

The following packages are unused and will be REMOVED:
kdenetwork-kfile-plugins kpf krfb ksirc ktalkd lisa talk ytalk
The following packages will be automatically REMOVED:
  kdenetwork
The following packages will be REMOVED:
  kdenetwork kget
0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 10 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

You can notice there are some kdenetwork packages missing. This is
because these packages have been early installed by hand (I run this
test on my Sid).

I would like to see this behaviour disappear if it's possible, since I
think it's not a good behaviour and it is a bit annoying.

Thanks for your work.
Regards.

Bug#326937: Can you compile kmymoney2 against libofx2 instead of libofx1c2 please ?

2005-09-06 Thread jjluza
Package: kmymoney2
Version: 0.8-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

It's not possible to install kmymoney2 since libofx1c2 is a virtual
package. You can see information here :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=326721
You have just to compile again kmymoney2 with new libofx2, and all will
work fine again.
Thanks for your work.

Regards.

Bug#323212: hal: Can't eject CDROM

2005-08-28 Thread jjluza
Sjoerd Simons wrote

It's not related to hal. The error just says that a certain property
doesn't exist on the device, but that's valid.

I don't know what in KDE actually ejects a cd. So i can't reassign it to
the right package. Do you know ?

   Sjoerd

I have recently upgrade my system and now it works.
I think you can close this bug.
Sorry for having report it against the wrong package.

Bug#323212: hal: Can't eject CDROM

2005-08-15 Thread jjluza
Package: hal
Version: 0.4.8-6
Severity: normal

I can't eject cdrom in kde, I get a error message :
Eject /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd failed!
If I look at .xsession-errors, I can see this message :
libhal.c 911 : Error sending msg: No property info.category on device
with id /org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/ide_1_0
I don't know if it's related since it doesn't appear when I try to
eject but I only when I mount or umount the cdrom.

Bug#317999: CustomKeycodes unavailable

2005-07-18 Thread jjluza
Ok, finally I found the problem.
In fact, the xkb rules I used before (called logicdo), doesn't exist anymore,
so it was normal that I hadn't multimedia key anymore (it used a basic pc105
rules).
I found that xkb rules called logicink do what logicdo did before. Now I use
logicink, and my keyboard works like before (with multimedia keys).
This bug can be closed, but I think it could be usefull to be noticed about
xkb rules files that go away.

Cordially,
JJ Luza

Bug#317999: xlibs: CustomKeycodes unavailable

2005-07-12 Thread jjluza
Package: xlibs
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-1
Severity: normal

I've just installed Xorg on my system and all work pretty well except
one thing : I haven't CustomKeycodes anymore. I notice there is an X
option, so I tried to enable it with :
Option CustomKeycodes on
in xorg.conf, but with that, my keyboard goes crazy, and only letter
keys are usable. For example, I can't use shift anymore, neither up
(when I hit up key, it reacts like if I have hit print key).

I tried several things like trying to use Option XkbGeometry, but I
didn't succeed.

I would like to use my multimedia keyboard, so if you have an idea
about my problem, I will congratulate you.

Thanks a lot for the big work you have achieved to package Xorg.

Regards,
JJ Luza

Bug#310189: libasound2: Can't quit mplayer, need to kill it.

2005-05-22 Thread jjluza
Package: libasound2
Version: 1.0.8+1.0.9rc3-1
Severity: normal
Tags: experimental

I can't quit cleanly mplayer since I upgrade alsa packages to
experimental version.
I'm not sure the problem come from alsa or mplayer, but mplayer works
properly with alsa in unstable.
I use vanilla kernel 2.6.12-rc4.
What happens : when I run mplayer from console, I press ESC to quit it.
The window disappears, when mplayer doesn't give me back the prompt, it
freezes. I have to press CTRL+C to get the prompt again, and I get the
message :
MPlayer interrupted by signal 2 in module: uninit_ao

I use module snd_intel8x0 with nforce2 motherboard.

Bug#303598: kopete: Disconnected from MSN

I use kopete for several months and since few weeks, I get disconnected
from MSN network after being connected for few minutes. I don't get any
error message so I can't say what the problem is, but it is really
reproductible.

Bug#299147: nvidia-kernel-source: Compilation failed with kernel 2.6.11-mm*

2005-03-11 Thread jjluza
Package: nvidia-kernel-source
Version: 1.0.7167-1
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

Hello,
First, I would like to congratulate you for having provided a package
for nvidia driver 7167 so quickly (I take it from incoming).
It compiles properly on kernel 2.6.11, but it fails with -mm* patches tree.
I tried with 2.6.11-mm2, and I succeeded in compiling it by using the
second patch you can find in this page :
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=47405
I leave severity of this bug as normal only since this kernel tree is
experimental, but I think it should be applied.

Regards.

First, sorry if this bugs is not a grave problem, but since it seems

Yes, sorry, I was totally wrong about this bug report.
I use the last version in sid, and I think my bug has nothing to do with the
first one reported here.
Anyway, it doesn't segfaults anymore on my system, maybe I used a broken
library which is repaired now.

I forgot I use the sarge version of strace, so it worked, of course.
I try again with the sid version, and it still segfault. Maybe it happens only
with x86 system ?
Unfortunately I can't give you more information ... or maybe by stracing
strace itself :)
Let me know how I can give you more information.

Bug#285338: synaptic: Crashes when trying to download smartsuite changelogs

Yes, it still happens. I can't be sure it happens only with smartsuite,
but smartsuite is the only package I notice that.

I can't find a smartsuit package on my debian sid system. Where do
you get it from? It still shouldn't segfault. Could you please send me
your /etc/apt/sources.list so that I can try to reproduce the
 problem.

 thanks,
  Michael

Ok, I just find what is this strange thing.
You can find information about smartsuite here :
http://packages.debian.org/smartsuite
This is a really old application, which is now deprecated (replaced by
smartmontools, I think). It exists only in woody now, and disappeared from
sid. I think I have it in my database because I installed it a long while
ago. If you can't find it, it's because you run sid or sarge and never
installed this application before, I guessed. ;)

Sorry, I just notice that. But, synaptic shouldn't crash when it can't find a
package changelog. Nevertheless, it's absolutelly not critical, since it
doesn't happen really often. I can now reproduce it only with packages I have
installed then removed and for which I haven't had a line in source.list
anymore. For example, I recently removed mplayer-k6 (I replaced it by
mplayer-nogui) and I removed the line about mplayer packages in my
source.list. So, it crashes when I try to get changelog for mplayer-k6, but
it doesn't crash for mplayer-nogui (it just tells me it can't get it).
I hope it helps.

Regards,
JJ Luza.
