If you can find one with 2.6.12, you could try that. For amd64 I keep one around at www.tinyplanet.ca/~lsorense/amd64 while for i386 only you would have to look elsewhere for one (I imagine they exist). You could also try your luck on the daily testing/unstable installer builds and see if they do any better. Good luck, with ATI chips and linux you will need it. Hi Marek de Stone I assume from your uname output, that you used linux26 while installing. In order to help you, we need output of: (lspci; lspci -n)|sort In order to get this information, could you boot with a knoppix CD? BTW: As you use an AMD64 machine, you could also try the unofficial AMD64 port [1].
