Bug#575951: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#575951: samba: Samba 3.2.5 won't authenticate to Win2008R2 DC.

This is fixed in the upstream Samba as of version 3.4. The patch applies easily to Samba 3.2.5. I understand that only security-related fixes are normally applied to stable, but this seems like an easy patch to apply for a bug which is likely to hit an increasing number of people as organizations upgrade from w2k3 to w2k8. Here's a link to the upstream bug: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6697 And the relevant patch: https://bugzilla.samba.org/attachment.cgi?id=4658 Hello David, Thanks for your patience..:-) Would you mind trying the packages from http://people.debian.org/~bubulle/packages/samba-debug-lenny/? They're exactly Lenny packages plus the above patch. If that fixes your problem, I'll upload them to stable-proposed-updates. I installed the .deb's and have confirmed that I can authenticate to both my new w2k8 servers as well as an old w2k3 server as well. I'm pondering doing that update, being in favor of it myself. We made many updates to samba in Lenny that are not security-related and that one would qualify for an upload in s-p-u, imho. Objections from other team members? (there are other updates that I'd like to be able to include, particularly those related to ACL handling with Excelthat made me switch a Lenny production server from our 3.2.5 packages to 3.2.15.but I need help in backporting the patches to 3.2.5) signature.asc Description: Digital signature
