The new evdev driver requires that hack again, plus generates keyboard events ('p' and 'o' on qwerty, 'r' and 'l' on dvorak) when the horizontal scroll is used. If I change: no-idea no-rc5 shared to: zlib no-idea no-rc5 shared and rebuild, cyrus-imapd gives me that bad record mac error with the resulting openssl. Removing zlib makes it go away. So it seem we have 2 things that conflict here. If we have zlib, it breaks applications, if we don't, it breaks others. I should correct myself. We have 3 options for zlib: - no-zlib - zlib - zlib-dynamic Package breaks if we use zlib-dynamic and zlib1-dev is not installed, which is why we used zlib instead. Build with any of those options it fails with the decryption failed or bad record mac error. If either the server or the client do not support zlib, things work. And it seems that the 0.9.7 server doesn't use zlib, even though it was build with zlib support. I'm still not sure if this is a bug in the server or the client. I looked at the homepage, and while this does appear useful, is it really nescessary to be packaged all by itself? I have added proper configs to my X-resources and it worked fine until I switched to UTF-8-era. Now luit seems to fsck things up: I can't reproduce this - but have zsh rather than zsh-beta. If your locale is a UTF-8 one (as I would guess from the fi_FI.utf8 in the summary), luit is supposed to step out of the way. However, the path for luit did change sometime last your - that may be a factor. I see it in /usr/bin/X11/luit - perhaps it's hung trying to reference a nonexistent program. If that's so, the xterm localeFilter resource could help. -- Thomas E. Dickey http://invisible-island.net ftp://invisible-island.net pgpGkYKvw0cWE.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#252790: problem solved
This bug seems to have vanished with the latest kernel installed (2.6.15). I haven't looked into the kernel changelog much to see if there were changes to the bttv driver that I'm using, but I expect something was done recently. -- Jon-o Addleman - http://redowl.dyndns.org -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#333001: mpich: FTBFS on GNU/kFreeBSD
On Sun, 9 Oct 2005, Adam C Powell IV wrote: It looks like about 80-90% of the patch is unnecessary to support this architecture, e.g. there's no need for openrisc, os400, djgpp, crx etc. in a Debian system. Can you please edit out the unnecessary parts so the patch is more compact, while supporting the new arch (and other new ones like armeb)? If you don't, I will try, but I can't guarantee it will work... Well, there might be no need for openrisc, os400, djgpp, crx, but if you think about it, there is really no need to make the patch shorter either. In fact, this is not really about applying a patch, it is about using the most recent config.guess and config.sub available. You can find those files in the autotools-dev package, in /usr/share/misc. If you don't like adding a patch which is aesthetically ugly to you, you can copy the files at build time instead. The details are explained in /usr/share/doc/autotools-dev/README.Debian.gz. Also, mpich is stuck with about twelve other packages trying to enter testing, so until that transition is made I'll be unable to upload a new mpich package. I'll do this as soon as possible. I hope such is not the case anymore. For the record, several hurd-i386 packages fail to build from source because libmpich1.0-dev does not exist. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#347758: dh_python and current python policy doesn't match
Matthias Klose wrote: I think so, I wouldn't have submitted it else. python-support is not yet finished, you agreed to changes, which aren't documented besides on #irc. IMO it's better to propose these changes first and agree on them. Other comments have been posted on debian-python as well. It's much more work to adjust / reupload packages, than reverting back to the old dh_python for now and continue the development in experimental. At least another developer did express this opinion on debian-python as well. I didn't realize that Joss's changes to dh_python were leading policy in this way. If the only alternative to having this RC bug remain open is reverting those changes until the python people have agreed how things should work, then I would prefer to do that. -- see shy jo signature.asc Description: Digital signature

As you suggested, I took the decision to eradicate devfs sequels from my system. I had a few naming to change (cdrom, tty for modem, and other few things in the system...). I will not revert my changes just for the test. Thanks for your prompt support. Bug#301629: wmaker: Docking isn't working
Użytkownik Michał Cichowicz napisał: Hi, Hmmm... Can you try moving ~/GNUstep out of the way (it would be best if you do this while Window Maker is *not* running) and restarting Window Maker? E.g.: $ mv ~/GNUstep ~/GNUstep.backup If that fixes it, I'd like to have a copy of ~/GNUstep/Defaults No difference. I was even trying not to launch xmodmap and imwheel thinking it could mess up somehow but there was no difference too. I not sure if you remember this bug report. I have accidentally found today exact circumstances of this behaviour. It happens only if I'm using the nvidia video driver with switched on TwinView for TV-OUT. When using the nv driver or the nvidia one without TV-OUT everything's OK. The only thing I can say is Cuda na kiju! Fix zlib-dynamic to use /usr/lib/libz.so.1 properly instead of /usr/lib/libz.so? Build with any of those options it fails with the decryption failed or bad record mac error. any of those options means all of no-zlib, zlib, and zlib-dynamic? If either the server or the client do not support zlib, things work. And it seems that the 0.9.7 server doesn't use zlib, even though it was build with zlib support. I'm still not sure if this is a bug in the server or the client. So what breaks if using no-zlib? You said it breaks other [applications]; which ones and how? -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world. Bug#348248: Problem solved by installing graphviz
Not sure whether this closes the bug on the basis of my stupidity. It would be nice if the error message was slightly clearer, perhaps an check to see if dot is available and an alternate message of 'dot not available' or some such.
