Bug#649467: Sets 25 s timeout without option and -1 does not work

2011-11-21 Thread Andrew Buckeridge
Package: rlpr
Version: 2.05-4

The man page says that --timeout= defaults to 3 s, but it defaults to
25 s in the program. Even 25 s is way too short and causes a timeout.

A more logical default would be -1 which according to the man page
means never. However, a value of -1 as documented also causes an error.

With --timeout=-1 I get: --

rlpr: warning: cannot bind to privileged port: lpd may reject
rlpr: error: connect to 10.128.96.1:515: Invalid argument
rlpr: fatal error: client_open(): cannot connect to lpd

Bug#649471: gdb: internal error + abort: addr_string_to_sals: Assertion `sals.nelts == 1' failed

2011-11-21 Thread Patrick Ohly
Package: gdb
Version: 7.3-1+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Run gdb on SyncEvolution (compiled from source in my case).
Set a breakpoint in SyncEvo::Exception::handle().
Run so that an exception is thrown.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or

I made that core file available here:
http://estamos.de/download/tmp/core-gdb-7.3-2021.gz

Note that SyncEvo::Exception::handle() is an overloaded function
in a C++ program. I would have expected more than one breakpoint
to be set. I think that previous versions of gdb did that.

SyncEvo::Exception::handle() is called inside catch() blocks, *however*
further debugging shows that it wasn't invoked in the catch block of
this particular exception. But not setting the breakpoint avoids
the problem.

SyncEvolution was compiled with -g and no optimization. I also
tried with clang 2.9, same result.

I've been using the official one for a while, but it seems that there
is quite a bit of cairo that is available from C that is not available
from the official bindings.

I should probably play around with this a bit on my own first.

This bug was marked as fixed in 1.30.0-1, but this is not a valid
version for the python-gobject package, and apt-listbugs complains:

grave bugs of python-gobject (2.28.6-5 -> 3.0.2-3)

It seems that there was a confusion with the versions of
gobject-introspection.

 It's quite simple. It affects

  - swrast when dri-experimental is installed
  - gallium based drivers - fallbacks are now llvm based (currently r300?)

Note that mesa currently builds r600g but does not ship it, perhaps it
could be also added to dri-experimental.
I am not sure how useful the version in 7.10 is but it should improve
over time.

Note that swrastg can be built with or without llvm: in the first case it is
commonly called llvmpipe [1], in the second case it is called softpipe. They
should both be better than classic swrast.

So you can compile with llvm only on that supported and tested platforms, but
always install the resulting swrastg (rather than classic swrast).

Also note that on current git (will be in 7.12/8.0) swrastg was renamed to
swrast (so there are two swrast now: the gallium one and the classic one, built
under different directories):
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/commit/?
id=5fe54df58f31e5d321f7cbd5b095eb8c2417deb1

[1] example string when compiling with llvm:
GL_RENDERER   = Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 0x208)

We want to keep cookies alive when we requested to create a launcher.
This is because the launcher will reference the cookie file.

I don't think we implement that but libcurl also supports
reading cookies back in, which would allow us to send cookies
obtained by Gnash http requests back to the browser if the plugin
code takes care of doing that part.

In any case, the plugin should know if we want or not a launcher
(only way to it is an env variable, and is the plugin itself creating
the launcher) so you could cleanup the cookies if no launcher was
requested...

A safe way to put them in /tmp/ is still preferrable to me.
They are not really meant to survive a single instance of the
standalone player (except for the launcher case).

Thanks! I will merge the outstanding branches and make a release
today, then you can base on this one. Any preferences in if we should
enable debian-specific ratings&reviews or disable them for now? We can
host them on reviews.ubuntu.com, it would mostly be hidden, the only
downside is that for posting a review the user would have to get a
ubuntu SSO account.

Bug#649476: fop: Fails to build publican's user guide with org.apache.fop.apps.FOPException java.lang.NullPointerException

2011-11-21 Thread Raphaël Hertzog
Package: fop
Version: 1:1.0.dfsg2-3
Severity: important

publican 2.8 (that I just uploaded to unstable) has a test suite and fop is
called as part of this test suite since it's the tool used to generate
the PDF output. But fop fails with this highly unhelpful error message:
Exception
org.apache.fop.apps.FOPException
java.lang.NullPointerException

It works fine with the manual in the version 2.5. I'm not sure what is
the change that fop does not like. I disabled the test suite for now but
it would be nice to see fop fixed instead. :)

A bit more context in the build log gives this:

Bug#649477: ITP: unidecode -- ASCII transliterations of Unicode text (Python module)

2011-11-21 Thread Stefano Rivera
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Stefano Rivera

* Package name: unidecode
  Version : 0.04.9
  Upstream Author : Tomaz Solc
* URL : http://pypi.python.org/pypi/Unidecode
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : ASCII transliterations of Unicode text (Python module)

It often happens that you have text data in Unicode, but you need to
represent it in ASCII for display. One could represent non-roman Unicode
characters as "???" or "\\15BA\\15A0\\1610", but neither is useful to
the user reading the text.

Unidecode tries to represent it in ASCII characters (i.e., the
universally displayable characters between 0x00 and 0x7F), where the
compromises taken when mapping between two character sets are chosen to
be near what a human with a US keyboard would choose.

This module generally produces better results than simply stripping
accents from characters (which can be done in Python with built-in
functions). It is based on hand-tuned character mappings that for
example also contain ASCII approximations for symbols and non-Latin
alphabets.

unidecode is a Python port of the Text::Unidecode Perl module.

This will be packaged under the Debian Python Modules Team.

Mmm, it seems exactly like the //TRANSLIT suffix support provided by

Bug#649478: tar: please mark Multi-Arch: foreign

2011-11-21 Thread Colin Watson
Package: tar
Version: 1.25-3
Severity: wishlist
Tags: patch
User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu ubuntu-patch precise

Hi,

It would be useful for tar to be marked "Multi-Arch: foreign", to
indicate that it can satisfy dependencies of packages of other
architectures. Although Debian's dpkg doesn't yet do anything special
with this, it's safe to add this tag in advance of package manager
support.

In Ubuntu, this is an early step in being able to crossgrade from i386
to amd64, because our dpkg Pre-Depends: tar (>= 1.23) as an upgrade fix
to ensure that --warning=no-timestamp is available. While this
pre-dependency isn't present in Debian, it still wouldn't hurt to add
this tag and no doubt would help out some other multiarch use cases.

  * Mark tar Multi-Arch: foreign.

Bug#617813: Kiwix package status update

2011-11-21 Thread Vasudev Kamath
Hi all,
Its been a while and for all those who are looking for Kiwix to be in
Debian here is a status update.

Kiwix package is ready and already on collab-maint but currently there
is a problem. Kiwix is strongly depending on XulRunner version 1.9.1
which is no more in Debian. I've reported this to upstream and
upstream is working on making Kiwix work with Xulrunner 2.0 + but
since this requires much work it may take some more time. Upstream has
mentioned they will try to provide a build by end of the month. Once
the build is out I'll make sure kiwix will make its way into debian
asap.

Best Regards

It is. But we don't have python iconv bindings packaged, either.

Also, I'm looking at this simply because it's blocking #589396.

I attach a patch that fixes the logrotate conf-file in postinst, either
at install time, or via a trigger if a new logrotate is installed.
It works here on my local system, but no backports are tested.

Seems to work without predepends.

That's not a whole lot of information. Why is it called "console
DM?" How does it work? What's a "theme" in this context? Why would
you want to start X sessions from a console DM?

Bug#649459: workaround

2011-11-21 Thread Andy Wingo
The workaround is to add:

const Shell = imports.gi.Shell;

to the top of

/usr/share/gnome-shell/js/ui/windowManager.js

Sjoerd will have a new package out later today, hopefully.

No, no problem. There's no urgency in this. We're actually going
through the packages still depending on defoma, the only intent being
getting rid of it before wheezy if we can; So, there's still enough
time.

Oh, doh. Shouldn't it be a conffile anyway? As a local admin, I would
hate seeing my carefully crafted nsswitch.conf file broken by
packages' updates just because "it is policy-compliant as this is not
a conffile". And I certainly know about Debian-haters who would
happily use this as an argument to bash us for doing that (forgetting
that most other distros happily break such files during upgrades...)

So, well, sounds like a goodpolicy-compliant method to update
nsswitch.conf would indeed be a great enhancemeent to bring. Thinking
out loud, it could be something like /etc/nsswitch.conf.d/ but I'm not
sure that's easy to do without hacking many things.

An invalid op from the dynamic linker could be a more general bug or a
bug in the python interpreter, but lets try and confirm before we pass
this on.

> kernel boot, only if the hypervisor is used (tested with linux-image-3.0.0

Can you try:
/usr/lib/xen-default/bin/pygrub --args="root=/dev/xvda2 ro"
--output=/var/run/xend/boot/xenbl.8881
/home/starch/data/xen/domains/squeeze/disk.img

Since this is the actual command which is failing.

You might want to replace /var/run/xend/boot/xenbl.8881 with your own
temp file (which you will need to touch first).

Having done that (and assuming it does repro the issue) can you run
under gdb to see where the crash really is.

Bug#649467: LPD timeout is harmful

2011-11-21 Thread Andrew Buckeridge
Direct socket printing (such as HP JetDirect on 9100/tcp) by accepting
only one TCP connection on the socket exploits the rate adaptation and
logical end of file inherent in TCP. With this scheme it can start
processing the input as soon as it starts to receive it.

The RFC 1179 Line Printer Daemon protocol traditionally accepted
multiple jobs which it received before they were printed. I.e.
Simultaneous Peripheral Operations On-Line (according to AST) to
prevent user programs tying up the single line printer.

The real problem now (with other LPD implementations and CUPS) is
queues tying up the sysadmin.

Now LPD is built in to printers and large PostScript (vector or super
massive PCL uncompressed bitmap) jobs are being SPOOLed and then
processed in memory rather than on mass storage.

The problem with LPD is resources are finite and there is no official
way of limiting the rate at which jobs are submitted.

A LPD may have these one byte replies.

\000 Accepted
\001 Not accepting new jobs, tell sysadmin it has died again
\002 Counts exceed allocated or available space, try later
\003 Bad job format

Rather than return \002 it may also just stop reading the socket until
space is available again. This must always be done if it only finds out
in the middle of receiving a print job. (Once picked up a job must be
completed until logical end of file. You don't want to permanently
block these.)

Note that RFC 1179 only mentions zero or non-zero replies. There is no
mention of the \002 reply or rate adaptation.

Rejection including \002 may cause other LPDs to stop accepting.
For this reason blocking the socket is common.

A default timeout of 3 s would be 8 h and 20 min and may work.
The user can always interrupt or kill it.

It's actually a problem with the new theme:
(a) The toolbar borders have changed
(b) Nautilus specific styles have been added which make it
look a bit odd, as the border from the toolbar seems to
be longer than the toolbar itself and thus is visible on
the top of the separator between side bar and the main
widget.

I agree that debootstrap ought to solve this problem. (In fact, it's in

bootstrap-base; cloning this bug for that.)

The bit that makes it difficult is that we need to do this work before
we necessarily have dpkg available, so we can't compare version numbers
in any remotely reliable way. What we can do, however, is notice when
there are multiple stanzas with the same package name, and pick the last
one rather than the first. dak seems to reliably sort in ascending
version order; Launchpad also does, although from code inspection I
think this is a result of sorting by ascending order of publication IDs,
but it seems to amount to the same thing in practice. (Even if this
weren't 100% reliable, always picking the last stanza for a given
package name is no worse than always picking the first one.)

I'm working on this now.

I've added it to the mika/multi_arch_foreign branch in
initramfs-tools.git so it's scheduled for review and inclusion in
the upcoming initramfs-tools release.

Thanks for your patch!

Hi Corey, and thanks for your bug report.

I was unable to reproduce your bug. Just to definitely exclude issues
with the .svg file, may you check if the link
'/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/keymon/themes/classic/mouse-indicator.svg'
is not broken and destination file's md5[1]?

Thank you,

We don't have the needed packages for this anyway, AFAIK:

 ubuntu-sso-client (>= 0.99.6),
 python-piston-mini-client (>= 0.1+bzr29),
 oneconf (>= 0.2.6)

Bug#648947: gnome-shell fail to start leaving gnome in fallback mode

Hi

Ok sorry. Can I do something to fix the severity?

> > * Does the “GNOME” session fail to switch automatically to

No. Actually fallback mode is working as expected. The problem is when I
try to enable gnome-shell with "gnome-shell --replace".
There is something I can try ? As you said in KVM there isnt GL support,
but I have direct rendering enabled and mesa-utils are working properly on
the SPICE display.
Is this normal?

Thank you for your support

Bug#649451: hard-coded gzip-only support in apt-cdrom

I am not that surprised, given that apt-cdrom is touched only once
in a blue moon - last serious change is from 2009 (udev), the one
before that is adding Translation support in 2007, the 2005 change
is imported from the previous vcs… You get the pattern.
All in all its properly save to say that the code you looked at mostly
comes straight from the last millennium (literally speaking!)…

My personal excuse is that i haven't used it a single time, so i am
properly not the best one to hack on it, but i fear the rest of the
(lets count optimistic) trio seems to have the same excuse…

So after this little rant^Whistory lesson (which hopefully prevents you
from expecting a response after 4 days next time as i could write more
of these stories otherwise ;) ) i am willing to promise to try to have a
look at it this week(end), if nobody else wants of course,
but we need testers either way - volunteers?

You could ask stable managers for permission for a stable-upgrade.
+squeeze1 already adds some xz parts (for apt-utils tools).
Note though that squeeze doesn't support xz for index files
downloadable from the net, as i implemented it only in 0.8.12 after
hearing it the first time on debian-devel.
Not that it had ever reached deity@ or even the bts. As it is usually for
deities, they are expected to know everything and also before people even
think about it…

So sorry for wasting cd space, but time travel isn't stable yet and
my crystal ball was in repair in 2010, so i couldn't foresee what people
in 2011 expected me to have done. Given that my crystal ball is still
broken, it might be worthwhile to request the features expected to be
present in wheezy+1 NOW instead of then they are needed and serious
bugs in your eyes in 2012/3…

Thanks for consideration and best regards

The transition from autotools to cmake for MySQL 5.5 led to changes in
the enable-by-default features, including storages engines.

To make sure that MySQL 5.5 has the same features as MySQL 5.1, ARCHIVE,
BLACKHOLE and FEDERATED storage engines should by explicitly mentioned
in debian/rules (a patch is attached).

Sometimes I experience that hostname hangs without giving a reply. This results
in a
lot of cronjobs piling up and occasionally filling /tmp.

Could we get some sort of parameter for hostname such that it never waits more

Or could we get such that cronjobs never pile up

OK the first problem is you've started off by merging upstream directly into
the debian branch. The bup package tracks the latest upstream *tag* (see
debian/README.source).

The frequency is low (once a week or less), but AFAIK this is a regression from
the old driver. I
cannot remember to have seen any such warnings with earlier squeeze kernels.

The warning is followed by a couple of reset:

I did not watch this in action myself, but both PPPoE sessions running over
this
interface timed out at the same time, so I assume that the interface actually
was
down for 2 minutes here due to whatever caused the warning:

Bug#510559: Invalid URL support

2011-11-21 Thread Ian Jackson
severity 510559 wishlist
close 510559
thanks

As upstream says, URLs are not allowed to contain unencoded spaces.
So passing such a not-quite-url to curl is a mistake.

It would of course be possible to improve curl's handling of this
error by the caller. Personally I would favour having curl bomb out,
but it would be possible for curl to encode the spaces.

However, deciding what to do about this, and implementing it any
resulting improvement, is not an activity that we intend to undertake
in Debian, and we would not wish to apply a patch even if it were
supplied to us. Under these circumstances it does not make sense for
the Debian BTS to contain an open bug report for this feature request.

Thanks,
Ian.

Bug#638360: curl: Please add hiphop patch

2011-11-21 Thread Ian Jackson
severity 638360 wishlist
close 638360
thanks

I'm afraid that I concur with upstream and the other Debian
maintainers for curl. This enhancement request should be discussed
upstream.

In particular, I agree with upstream's very reasonable comments:

If you still think this is good stuff for libcurl, then I would like
to see that you motivate and explain your patch and reasoning on the
curl-library list so that we can discuss pros and cons and see what
others think and how to proceed. (The patch also lacks documentation
  and test cases.)

We do not intend to apply this patch in the Debian package as we don't
agree that it's helpful. So it is not appropriate to keep this bug
open any longer.

Thanks,
Ian.

Hi Dmitry,

I have seen your email, but the changes from the current packaging are
important so please give me a few days to review them.
I'm also ok with a co-maintenance, this will eventually be done with the
next upload.
In the meantime, please do not NMU.

Cheers,

Bug#571196: CherryPy 3.2

2011-11-21 Thread Nathan Robertson
I just repackaged CherryPy 3.2.2 for work internally. It was a pretty
trivial upgrade from a packaging point of view.

Could you please update this package? I'd be happy to become a Debian
developer if you'd sponsor me and eventually take over maintenance of
the package. Long term, I think there might be a few other Python
packages which I might package and contribute later on too.

Thanks for bringing this up. It'd be nice to see the scripts included,
assuming the pkg maintainer is fine with that. I'll append a licence header
when I have some time; in the meantime please assume a GPLv3 licence.

Bug#643060: bup: FTBFS

The current upstream HEAD is two commits ahead of the tag
'bup-0.25-rc1' and the two commits seemed useful, so I went ahead and
merged it. Bup 0.25 is hopefully released before the next Debian
release, so having a git HEAD in testing for a while probably does not
hurt. If you disagree, you can of course merge the tag 'bup-0.25-rc1'
again to the debian branch.

Bug#649487: detex: segfault with argument "--version"

2011-11-21 Thread Matthew Wakeling
Package: texlive-binaries
Version: 2009-8

While this may seem an odd thing to do, the segfault is worrying, and should be
investigated. A locally-compiled version of detex 2.8 downloaded from upstream
does not exhibit the same problem - it produces the following:

Bug#647095: CPU hyperthreading turned on after soft power-cycle

2011-11-21 Thread Jiri Polach

Finally! After another 50+ compilations a have it! It took some time as
first I had to find a reason why some revisions did not boot (almost 2/3
were unbootable and the first bad commit was among them). Having this
solved I have been able to bisect without "skipping". The result is
surprising (at least for me) - believe it or not, the first bad commit
is 6610e089 "RTC: Rework RTC code to use timerqueue for events" from
John Stultz (I am sending him a copy of this message).

I would never expect this would be a problem, but my understanding of
this commit is very limited, so I am certainly missing the point.
However, I have tried to compile 2.6.38 (which was "bad") with "Real
Time Clock" configuration option turned off and it behaves "normally"
then (= is "good").

Huh. That's *very* odd. Is your system doing anything in-particular
with the RTC? I don't have a clue right off, so probably the next step

Yes, it is very odd. The system does not do anything special with RTC.
It is a diskless computational workstation.

is doing a bit of instrumentation to try to figure out where exactly we
trigger the behavior. Could you checkout commit 6610e089 and apply the
patch below to see if we can't narrow it down?

With the patch applied the system does not show the strange behavior (=
is "good").

Could you also send your .config to me?

Sure. It is attached. I have found that if I turn CONFIG_RTC_DRV_CMOS
off, the system behaves normally (= is "good") too.

Yea. My rough guess is that the BIOS is somehow sensitive to how the
CMOS RTC is touched.

Does disabling CONFIG_HPET_EMULATE_RTC change the behavior?

But how do I do it? :-)

I have not found a way to disable it in "menuconfig". If I comment it
out manually in .config, it is automatically set back to "y" as soon as
compilation starts ...

Thanks,

Jiri

Bug#649490: gnupg: please mark Multi-Arch: foreign

Package: gnupg
Version: 1.4.11-3
Severity: wishlist

User: ubuntu-de...@lists.ubuntu.com
Usertags: origin-ubuntu ubuntu-patch precise

Hi,

It would be useful for gnupg to be marked "Multi-Arch: foreign", to
indicate that it can satisfy dependencies of packages of other
architectures. Although Debian's dpkg doesn't yet do anything special
with this, it's safe to add this tag in advance of package manager
support.

This is an early step in being able to crossgrade from i386 to amd64,
because apt Depends: gnupg.

Bug#649376: gnome: Dependency on totem-mozilla violating Debian-Policy

Sure. Feel free to package a “everything” metapackage, that depends on
all packages in Debian. It should come very handy.

Why are you wasting so much time splitting hair? Is it your job, or just
a hobby?

>

BECAUSE METAPACKAGES ARE NOT A SUPERMARKET.
Can you read?

> Or is it just YOUR preference, beeing one of totem's authors?

No. Totem is part of the GNOME applications moduleset. VLC is not. VLC
will probably never be, since it has very poor integration with GNOME.
And since METAPACKAGES ARE NOT A SUPERMARKET, you don’t get to choose.

> You know, gnome is an essential package

I don’t see the “Essential: yes” tag.

> So what stands technically against altering the Depends to Suggests??

Nothing. This is not a technical issue. It’s just that METAPACKAGES ARE
NOT A SUPERMARKET. You don’t like metapackages, you are not forced to
use them.

R6xx, r7xx should work ok without the RLC ucode, you just won't get
acceleration. With chips that require the MC ucode, the driver will
bail if the MC ucode is not available.

Jonas: what about uploading ghostscript "soon" with the changes pushed to the

removal of gs-common) ?

(Or should we not remove gs-common yet ?)

Bug#649376: gnome: Dependency on totem-mozilla violating Debian-Policy

2011-11-21 Thread Oliver Rompcik
Dear Josselin,

thanks for your answer. I agree with you in one point: This seems to be
wasting time.

It's not about metapackages or nut, this is a substantial question. But we
are on controversy roads. As said, the (meta)packages gnome is essential
and one of the most installed.

Try to remove totem-mozilla on a fresh install. This will uninstall gnome,
the network manager, update-manager and many many more. Stupid.

Seems to be time for a new meta gnome-minimal.

With best regards,
Oliver Rompcik

Thanks for your report. Sadly(?) it is not reproduced here. Can you give
some some more information about the terminal you run this from?

Also note that term.c in the trace is main/editline/term.c and not

Bug#649494: linux-image-3.0.0-1-amd64: unable to mount an hfsplus volume

2011-11-21 Thread Tianming Xie
Package: linux-2.6

Version: 3.0.0-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
*** Please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

*** End of the template - remove these lines ***

I have an iPod Classic formatted with hfsplus on a Mac. It could be
successfully mounted with the old linux-2.6.32-5 kernel. But upgraded my system
from Stable(Squeeze) to Testing(Wheezy) and the kernel was also upgraded to
linux-3.0.0-1, and my iPod can never be mounted.
Report by the mount when using linux-3.0.0-1:
Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad
superblock on /dev/sdc3,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
When I boot my system with the old kernel, mounting will succeed.
How can I help to fix this problem?

Best Regard!

No. The script does "ifconfig $interface inet 0 up" which clears the
internet address in the interface which obviously does break networking.

So long as it merely brings up the interface but does not change the
address it should not cause problems.

Bug#648241: ngIRCd package description

2011-11-21 Thread Alexander Barton
Hi!

I’m the author of ngIRcd.

What about the fullowing package description?

Description: lightweight Internet Relat Chat server

ngIRCd is a lightweight Internet Relat Chat server for small or
private networks. It is simple to configure, can cope with dynamic
IP addresses, and supports IPv6 as well as SSL. It is written from
scratch, not based on the original IRCd and quite portable.

The „does not support IRC services“ part is wrong since a few releases, because
„IRC Services“ as well as „Anope“ is used by some installations and is (mostly)
working. I have to fix our homepage, too … so thanks for this discussion ;-)

I agree that the name of this IRC daemon isn’t that great, and you are right,
„next generation“ is quite a dumb prefix. But that’s what I named it back in
2000 (?); and that’s what the daemon is called today. See it as a „unique
identifier“ not as a „package description“. And I wouldn’t name it that way
again – but this doesn’t help today ;-)

Regards
Alex

Bug#649496: terminator: New version available upstream

2011-11-21 Thread Patrice Pillot
Package: terminator
Version: 0.95-1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

Upstream released version 0.96 in september. It would be nice to have it
in debian since the new version closes (among others) the nasty bug
711356 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/terminator/+bug/711356).

Thanks in advance,

pp

Bug#648462: el-get: please load simple rather than requiring it for xemacs21 compatibility

"Aaron M. Ucko" writes:

I've run into one related compatibility issue (already present in 2.2-1,
but for some reason not causing trouble until today's formal xemacs21
upgrade, for the libjpeg transition):

While compiling toplevel forms in file
/usr/share/xemacs21/site-lisp/el-get/el-get.el:
!! Wrong number of arguments ((require 3))
  >>Error occurred processing el-get.el:
Wrong number of arguments: require, 3

  Done
  emacs-install: /usr/lib/emacsen-common/packages/install/el-get xemacs21
emacs22 emacs23 failed at /usr/lib/emacsen-common/emacs-install line 28,
 line 161.
  dpkg: error processing xemacs21-mule (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Could you please substitute (load "package" t t)?

Thanks!
