debian dvb with bittorrent
Hello, I write you because I would like to download Debian (testing) on DVD (using Bittorent). Unfornately on http://www.debian.org/CD/torrent-cd/ there is a link to http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/weekly/torrents/i386/ but there is no DVD image. I ever tryed jigdo but I had some problem with it... (and I get other Linux distribution using Bittorrent without any problem)... So a solution should be to have a torrent for the DVD... Compact and/or bf 2.4 (or else?)
I have a rather recent computer (about three years old) and would like to install woody. In order to save on servers usage and bandwidth, I thought to download (using jigdo) just the base CD, install the system, and then slowly gather all the rest from the internet, later, using something called apt-get. Would it be a wise approach? Also, debian documentation [http://www.debian.org/releases/woody/i386/ch-install-methods.en.html#s4.1] says that: a) `compact' CD would support my 3c905 Boomerang card (without which an installation would be useless); b) `bf2.4' CD better supports new things. Also I heard that such bf2.4 thing is better. Now: which CD shall I use? Compact or bf2.4? I also heard of some option of bf24 install, some command maybe that you put somewhere... In case it is true: a) How does it work? b) Will I download both CDs, all the same? Problems accessing the us-cdimage site
Hello, I am new to the linux world. I am trying to pull down the latest version of debain with a bunch of problems. I first tried to download the entire ISO image. I was able to burn a cd, but when I tried to install it I received the message Invalid or corrupt kernal message. So I then attempted to use jigdo to get an image. I successfully downloaded jigdo-lite. I used the .jigdo file at: http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/jigdo/3.0_r2/i386/woody-i386-1.jigdo when prompted by jigdo-lite. When asked for the Debian Mirror site I first used: http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ Jigdo-lite kept retrying saying there was a bad file discriptor. After a while, the above message stops repeating and jigdo-lite reports that woody-i386-1.template does not exist. Now I guess I dont really understand this since I saw the .template file along with the .jigdo file in the i386 direcory. I also tried the below ftp site. ftp://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ I am out of ideas as to what I can do to download debian. Any suggestions would be welcomed. it. At the prompt I typed in the following (as per the example when you

Well, I must not have typed in something correctly,
because the program just shuts down. First it says the jigdo-cd (or
jiddgo-cd) does not exist
I read the Jigdo mini HOWTO pages, it also makes a
lot of assumptions.
Is this method just too advanced for people new to
Linux?

Hi I'm writing from Italy so excuse me for my poor english. I installed on my laptop and my server Debian Sid starting from woody netinst cd and all is fine! Now I want to install Debian on my workstation where is installed an NFROCE2 motherboard. The question is, is there on netinst iso cd's the possibility to obtain a kernel-module for the nic card that included on the NFORCE2 mobo? Hi I'm writing from Italy so excuse me for my poor english. I installed on my laptop and my server Debian Sid starting from woody netinst cd and all is fine! Now I want to install Debian on my workstation where is installed an NFROCE2 motherboard. Greetings, My name is Luis Santos and I am the maintainer for FreeLinuxCd.Ca (FLCD). FreeLinuxCD.Ca is a complete non-profit organization working to bring Linux and other free operating systems to anyone who wants. We help people who cannot access distributions due to internet availability, bandwidth and access speeds.
