1.1.3-2 is now in unstable and has built for everything but mips (thus-far)

2010/9/21 Martin-Éric Racine q-f...@iki.fi:

 Andres Salomon submitted a simple fix for this issue. Basically, we no
 longer check the panel bit. Instead, we only check if we're running on
 DCON-equipped hardware to make an exact match for the OLPC XO-1
 configuration which, if found, will set the display to the XO-1's
 unique resolution. This has been committed upstream and could be added
 to the current 2.11.9 package as a patch and pushed as 2.11.9-3.

 Is there any other issue left to address, before this unblock request
 can be approved?

The updated package has been sitting in unstable for a couple of days
with no new issue reported. At this point, I really cannot think of
any remaining issue to address. Can we please get this unblocked now?

 That's a fairly broad definition of basically, given this:

 hyperestraier (1.4.13-2) unstable; urgency=low
 [...]
   * libestraier-ruby-doc:
     new package. split ruby api documentation.

 Introducing new packages during freeze is not particularly helpful;
 tying an RC-bug fix up with it less so still.

I've recognized this, as it should be introduced in 1.4.13-1, when I
added separate package for supporting ruby 1.9 series.
(to avoid including duplicate documents for them)

 As 1.4.13-1 never managed to migrate to testing due to the FTBFS bugs,
 afaics none of the bugs fixed in -2 are regressions from the version
 currently in Squeeze; I'm debating whether we should therefore just
 leave 1.4.9-1.4 in Squeeze.

Please consider to update 1.4.13, though I know that I couldn't push it
to testing before freeze because of my inmature packaging;
1.4.9 (released 2006/11) is pretty old, even though for lenny. No users
want to use it.

  How big is the diffstat from 0.1.0~rc2-1 to 0.1.0-1?
 Well, it's huge due to directconn support (which is disabled in the
 Debian package).

 I'm assuming that this primarily affects these sections of the diff:

  cvr/pn_direct_conn.c     |  531

  cvr/pn_direct_conn.h     |   28 ++-

  io/pn_dc_conn.c          |  256 ++

  io/pn_dc_conn.c           |    6 +-

 Which still leaves quite a few changes.  Is 0.1.0~rc4 equivalent to
 0.1.0, or are there further changes from rc4 to the final release?

 Assuming that there are no changes between rc4 and 0.1.0, please could
 you provide a debdiff between 0.1.0~rc2-1 and the 0.1.0-1 package you
 would like to upload?

The current version in unstable fixes #597822 (Some cyrus commands are not
found by cyrus master).

The diff is mainly in the cyrus.conf template to change the commands to
absolute patch.
Std-version is also updated as this requires no changes.

  * Update from the 1.8 branch.
- Fix hs16 build on sparc.
- NetX fixes.
  * openjdk-6-jre-headless: Provide java-virtual-machine for older
releases.
  * Don't run the mauve tests on mips.
  * Fix typos in the plugin package description. Closes: #590795.

Now builds with the same hotspot version on sparc as on ix86. Means, that only
one hotspot version needs to be supported in squeeze. mips builds again.

The other changes are minor, and/or needed for updates to lenny. Still planning
to use the same source for lenny and squeeze, fixing the pending security issues
in lenny.

 Is there a particular reason this isn't being done via -security,

The dar source is not yet on security-master, so a sourceful upload
would have been necessary. And the probability of users using dar-
static on untrusted files seems relatively low, so it's just a minor
issue.

No.

I have my upstream and debian branches in the same git repository, and
switch between upstream and Debian development by way of a 'git
checkout'. There's been a bit of reorganization in the upstream branch,
where the manpages are being put in their own directory. That's where
the difference comes from. The Makefile{,.in} was regenerated from the
Debian branch, though, so the man directory isn't actually being used --
it's just cruft, as are stamp-h2 and typescript.

The manpage difference in the root directory is because the .in files
are generated from SGML sources, which means that the date on the
manpage isn't the same anymore. Other than that, there isn't any
difference.

So, yes, the only actually relevant changes, that actually end up in a
binary package, are in the Spanish translation.

Cruft in packages is ugly, though, so let me upload a -6 without it;
please allow that to migrate.

 I don't see where you need xutils-dev.

The configure script complained about a missing file that according to

indeed made the message disappear.

Main reason is the fix for PR middle-end/45312, the kernels still use gcc-4.3.
The bi/tri arch cross build fixes are somewhat incomplete, but they allow
building cross packages which work for the default architecture. The complete
cross build fixes can be found in gcc-4.4 and gcc-4.5.

 The dar source is not yet on security-master, so a sourceful upload

Freeze exception quassel 0.7.1-1

2010-09-23 Thread Thomas Mueller
Hi,

I'd like to ask you for a freeze exception of quassel 0.7.1.
The current version of quassel in testing is 0.6.1-2.
This version has a security hole as documented in [1] and in this bug report
as well [2].

To fix this issue I could upload 0.6.3, but this is already a some kind of
outdated branch within quassel develoment as 0.7 has been released recently.

0.7.1 fixes a security hole within 0.7.0

Package for 0.7.1 has been uploaded unstable on September 21st.

Thanks,

pre-approval of OOo 3.2.1-7 upload

2010-09-23 Thread Rene Engelhard
Hi RT,

openoffice.org (1:3.2.1-7) unstable; urgency=low

  * debian/patches/add-some-missing-german-translations.diff: as named,
thanks Andre Schnabel
  * debian/patches/pdf-link-export-fix.diff: import from ooo-build master;
don't export PDFs with damaged xref table (closes: #594275)

  * debian/control.in:
- we use bc in debian/rules control, we probably should build-dep on it
  * debian/rules:
- change Class-Path: of jurt.jar to contain /usr/lib/ure/lib hardcoded
  as otherwise libjpipe.so (needed in the Java bridge) is not found...
  * debian/scripts/fix_image_rgb: -resize to 548x364 to work around
i#95472 (closes: #513746)

 -- Rene Engelhard r...@debian.org  Wed, 22 Sep 2010 17:58:25 +0200

is what I plan to upload to unstable soonish unless something else fitting
into the freeze criteria comes up. The bc change is self-explaining.
Translation is done by the same person who does it upstream so it's consistent
with the rest. The Class-Path: thing has no bugreport since it was reported at
the
OOo dev-mailinglist (see URL in rules), but it breaks some type of Java
extensions.

The most important fix here is the PDF one, which fixes the PDF export so
it doesn't produce broken xref tables. Is a regression in 3.2.1 and e.g has
the consequence that there's no hyperlinks clickable but - more severe -
Acrobat cannot print those PDFs..

#513746 admittedly is minor, but looks bad and the workaround is trivial and
with very low risk, so I think we can include it - but I also can remove it if
you disagree.

As attaching the full debdiff doesn't work since apparently spamassassin then
thinks
this is spam: http://zyklop.dyndns.org/~rene/3.2.1-7-proposed.diff

OK?

Grüße/Regards,

René

that all of the changes in 0.6.2 are okay; I haven't checked each of
them, but there appear to be a couple of dozen of them).

 but this is already a some kind of
 outdated branch within quassel develoment as 0.7 has been released recently.

The diff between the 0.6.1 and 0.7.1 packages (ignoring .po changes) is

 167 files changed, 5192 insertions(+), 888 deletions(-)

whereas the 0.6.2 to 0.6.3 diff (i.e. what's labelled as the security
fix) is nearer 60-70 lines.

0.7.0 appears to have been tagged upstream a little over a week ago;
that's a bit soon to be declaring 0.6 outdated, isn't it?

 0.7.1 fixes a security hole within 0.7.0

 Package for 0.7.1 has been uploaded unstable on September 21st.

It would have been appreciated if you'd sent this mail _before_ doing

Please unblock package php-kolab-filter

The upload fixes PHP deprecated warnings that causes kolabmailboxfilter script
to fail because of too strict error handling. The upload also ignore any
not-already-known E_DEPRECATED warning (Closes: #594541).

The upload also include a tiny fix to Use DEB_COMPRESS_EXCLUDE_ALL instead of
deprecated DEB_COMPRESS_EXCLUDE during the build of this pear package.

Bug#597893: please unblock xdotool 1:2.20100701-2961-3

2010-09-23 Thread Daniel Kahn Gillmor
Package: release.debian.org

Hi release team--

Please unblock xdotool 1:2.20100701-2961-3 to allow it to propagate into
squeeze after the normal delay. By using a piece of upstream's most
recent test suite, we can avoid the build-dep on lsof, which should make
the package buildable on kfreebsd (and any other arch which lsof isn't
building on currently), thereby resolving RC bug #590827.

My removal of the gnome-session test suite is due to the fact that they
were never working in the first place (the build-deps had openbox |
gnome-session, so most buildd's probably never satisfied the latter
dependency anyway, and the tests weren't run). I'm pursuing this with
upstream for post-squeeze versions.

Thanks,

--dkg

Hi.

Fixing this bug is rather easy (just adding the missing dependency), I'm
NMU-ing it in DELAY/5, patch attached.

@release team: the patch should be easily ported to the version now in
testing. Are you ok if I backport this patch for testing-proposed-updates?

Thanks, Giovanni.

Sorry for the noise, the bug doesn't exist in squeeze, please just
ignore my message. :-)

Bug#597243: unblock: shutdown-qapps/1.4.4-1

  Since version 1.2.5-1 of the source package shutdown-qapps there have
  been many changes in both qshutdown and qprogram-starter. Among these
  changes there were some serious problems fixed.

 Unfortunately, it's a bit late for such big rewrite. Some files have
 been (almost or entirely) rewritten from scratch and there were some new
 features introduced. This may introduce regressions. At this point of
 the cycle, I don't think it's a good thing to include such an update
 (even if it fixes serious problems).

 Given that shutdown-qapps wasn't included in previous releases and a
 backported fix seems not possible, maybe it's worth considering whether
 we really want to include the package in a stable release at the moment.

 Regards,

Hi,

true there were so many things changed that it's almost a rewrite...
I've just noticed that debdiff didn't show that some files were renamed
and moved into other directories and there are new files too (e.g.
calendar.cpp and calendar.h in qshutdown)... I've tried the -m FROM TO
option but I can't get it right as it seems...

If these changes are really too much, then it can't be helped... :'(
The problems regarding qprogram-starter aren't that serious for version
1.2.5-1 to get into stable though.

Kind regards
 Christian Metscher

apt-cacher upgrade to 1.6.12

2010-09-23 Thread Mark Hindley
Hi,

As the package maintainer, I would like to request upgrade of apt-cacher
in testing to version 1.6.12. It has been in unstable for 10 days and
has no new bugs filed against it.

In terms of the upcoming release, it fixes bug #588569 which is
necessary to allow debian-installer to fetch kernel files (which are
now named linux rather than vmlinux). I think this makes it worth
breaking the freeze.

Thanks

Mark

tgif update request

Hello

I recently adopted the tgif package which had been orphaned over 4 years
ago. Since that time, upstream has made a significant release and this is
now in ustable. If there is any possibility of letting the new package
into squeeze, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I understand.
