firewall regles que impredeixin l'acces a on vulguis.

Ensuite y inscrire :

user_pref(network.protocol-handler.app.http,/lechemin/vers/firefox/firefox);

user_pref(network.protocol-handler.app.https,/lechemin/vers/firefox/firefox);

[RESOLU à 75%]: Chipset Audio VIA versus Lenny versus Etch.

2008-04-07 Thread Tonio

 Muchas Gracias.

para el caso de conecciones casuales con AP cualquiera en modo abierto;

sistemas. :)

 Olá,

 Por aqui uso OpenOffice, e tudo funciona corretamente.

 kde 3.5.8
 OpenOffice.org-2.3.1-5

  Alguma dica?

pacote empacotado no Debian.
pessoal do BROffice, desinstalei a versão debian e instalei a versão
problema.

 sistemas. :)

Have found a workaround for this. I copied the desired signature block
into OO.o, exported it to a pdf, selected the images and text, copied
that into Gimp, and scaled and cropped the image, saved it and then
inserted that into Evolution's signature area as an image. It now works
just fine. The only drawback is if anyone's email filter quarantines
image attachments, then it will get blocked, but other than that it
ticks all of the right boxes.

This appears to be either a bug or a lack-of-feature in (that
version of?) Evo.

Possibly Ron. It did seem to be a contradictory state of affairs - allow
one image to be embedded but not a second. Oh well - at least this also
partially satisfies some netiquette because this will now be an
attachment for anyone who (like myself and many others here, I'm sure)
don't automatically allow HTML emails. So, maybe not a bad thing.

   gmfsk: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot

apt-file search libstdc++.so.5 and install the corresponding package.

 The application uses libstdc++6 = 4.1.0, but the error suggests it is
 turning instead to libstdc++.so.5.

What is the application you are talking about? How are you sure it uses only
libstdc++6? Is libstdc++6 installed on your machine?

read Anton's post. I checked the gphoto site and it said that the
camera was supported, so I went and bought it. I can access it as a

does not work. I have since determined that support for the L11 was
only recently added, so is not in the version in Etch. The camera
should be recognized as a generic PTP camera, however. If I run gtkam
as a normal user and tell it to detect the camera then it says it found
a PTP camera, but it will not initialize the camera. If I start gtkam
as root then it detects the camera just the same, but it DOES initialize
the camera and I can view, save and delete images. I, also, would like
to be able to run gtkam as a normal user and not as root. I have added

 I can't download v9.1fixpack4 anymore on db2 (link is really well hide

 No problem. Seems like its not a Debian problem then.

 deb http://snapshot.debian.net/archive pool sun-java6

 And every dist-upgrade I receive this error:

 -
 The following packages are BROKEN:
   sun-java6-bin sun-java6-jre
 1 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
 Need to get 6456kB of archives. After unpacking 0B will be used.
 The following packages have unmet dependencies:

 or ia32-sun-java6-bin (= 6-05-1) which is a virtual package.
 -

 In other hand: sun-java6 installation doesn't update symlinks
 in /etc/alternatives, that still points to the anterior sun-java5 files.
 Seems that is one bug:
 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=474190

 TIA

 Regards,

It should come soon. sun-java6-bin has been available for amd64 but not for
i386. Maybe it was just a package maintainers mistake...

Evince has an option to search backwards. Anyway, in kpdf 0.5.5, I'm
able to scroll back to the first page using the thumbnails sidebar, and
then new searches started with Control-F seem to start from the first page.

 turning instead to libstdc++.so.5.

 The libg++2.8.1.3-glibc2.2 is not installed.

 Where did you get that copy of gmfsk from?

A couple years ago I had to compile it from source, but I now see that
it is a deb package. The package is what I installed. The package
description said it depended on libstdc++.so.6. However, to get it
started I had to install libstdc++.so.5.

 Please enter this command and show us its output:

 ldd /usr/bin/gmfsk

  $ ldd /usr/bin/gmfsk | grep libstdc
libstdc++.so.6 = /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0xb738e000)

So, since I had libstsdc++.so.6 installed, and this is what it needs,
why would installation of libstdc++.so.5 enabled it to work?

 Also, please show us the output of this command:

 ls -l /usr/lib/libstdc*

Yep, both now installed:

$ ls -l /usr/lib/libstdc*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2008-04-07 06:14
   /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5 - libstdc++.so.5.0.7
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 737624 2007-01-03 13:47
   /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5.0.7
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2007-04-22 09:40
   /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6 - libstdc++.so.6.0.8
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 909044 2006-12-10 09:45
   /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6.0.8

The logic of the situation seems almost as if gmfsk needed _both_
versions of the libstdc++ library.

If it were to happen to me, I'd assume it was because I didn't look

But I won't assume you're as stupid as me, so maybe gmfsk executes
another binary that depends on libstdc++.so.5. To try that, uninstall
libstdc++.so.5, and run
strace -f gmfsk 2 stderr-file.txt
then search the stderr-file.txt for libstdc. If there is something
opening libstdc++.so.5, you should see the exec() line somewhere
above.

 Warp 3 was a wonderful OS. Presentation Manager was *really* slick,

I never had Warp 3. I started with version 1.1 on the 386 and kept up
with the service packs. I convinced IBM to give me 2.? when I had to
get the 486. BTW, those IBM floppies from ~1990 still work.

OS/2 was my first OS. I had to learn Dos and Lotus-1-2-3 for school (on

The 486 came with win 3.1. I only used it for a game that needed it

Once I had a Zip drive, I just installed Win onto the Zip drive (it
didn't know it could do it) and booted dos with a floppy.

It was certainly a bit of a switch to go from OS/2 to Potato (via a
short stint with RH 4-something).

 DOS-based BBSs still mandated you have one PC per modem, but OS/2
 was capable enough to run 6 or 8 modems at full speed.

I only had a 2400 modem but eventually move up to a 28.8.

Personally, I wouldn't bother. You can only do so much with Linux on a
low-end machine. OpenBSD (and to be fair NetBSD) run so much better,
and there are scripts out to make a liveCD for OpenBSD. My only gripe
with NetBSD is comparing how long security fixes take to come out (if
they ever do):
Debian and FreeBSD tend to come out within a day of each other.
OpenBSD, if its vulnerable at all, given the changes they made
to the compiler, takes about a week (but there are never new
bugs created by a fix), and NetBSD may take a month or more.

What, the Athlon doesn't have a spare serial port or a paralell port. I
need a backup box anyway, so it acts as a print server when I need to
print, and a terminal server when I need to access stuff from upstairs.
Saves me buying a USB/paralell and a USB/serial adapter.  The Athlon's
one serial port is used to connect to my 3Com (USR) Courier V.Everything
external modem. The P-II is also located in the basement (since it
makes a lot of noise) while the VT520 is upstairs.

Unix terminal handling grew up where an individual user would have one
type of terminal, it doesn't have inherent abilities to adjust features
(e.g. colours) based on TERM. The only exceptions seem to be Lynx, Vim,
and partially mc (e.g. learn-keys gets save with TERM type).

 I understand the issue about not wanting to limit posters to the list of
 subscribers. However, perhaps there should be a whitelist or somthing
 to which non-subscribers can post with the same handshaking as the
 subscription protocol?

 There is:
 http://lists.debian.org/whitelist/

Sorry, I misunderstood you, Doug.

IIUC, you propose that there is a special way for non-subscribers to
post, that locks out spammers at the same time? How should that work?

The only thing I could imagine, is one of those silly 'type the letters
that you find in this image' stuff.
That simply drives spammers to OCR or other tricks and locks out others
(blind, color blind etc.), and adds an additional layer of annoyance to
the rest of us.

[I get angry against spammers, but I would rather rely on my spam filter
and ignore the odd spam that gets through than to make it more difficult
for people to post. ]

Just MHO.

Cheers,
Johannes

 Neat project. I am not sure why being able to install 3.0r3 rather than
 3.0r6 is necesarily very useful, but it is neat to have the choice.

To have reproducibility of installations, where such is necessary (e.g.,
software escrow situations).
