Virtualitzar servidor linux
Hola, tinc un dubte, estic fent unes proves amb el tema de la virtualització, i hem trobo amb un dubte, crear servidors virtuals partint de cero no hi ha cap problema, però a l’hora de agafar una maquina en funcionament y virtualitzarla no trobo la manera de fer-ho. Les proves les he vet am VMware i si he vist que te una aplicació per passar maquines windows a virtuals, però per linux no he trovat res. No se si algú s’ha trobat ja amb aquest problema. Per tant jo faria la prova de fer una imatge de la partició o particions del sistema real (amb el partimage, per exemple), crear una màquina virtual nova amb un disc buit, i volcar-li al disc les particions desades. Després potser cal retocar l'arrencada del sistema virtualitzat i -potser- configurar d'entrada un driver de vídeo genèric. Amb això potser n'hi hauria prou. [HS] Pb pour se connecter en 56k avec slmodem et wvdial
Bonjour la liste, désolé pour ce HS. Sur mon laptop j'ai une sid. J'ai un modem intel qui est détecté par sl-modem-daemon. Le module intel-blabla-m est correctement chargé au boot, le daemon slmodem se lance et crÚe le lien /dev/modem sans erreur. J'ai wvdial d'installer et de configurer pour me connecter en 56k. il y a un an j'utilisais cette méthode pour me connecter en 56k. po de problème tout se passait bien. Impossible d'écrire des fichiers à noms longs sur une partition vfat : pas assez d'espace disque
Bonjour, J'espère que le sujet n'aura fait fuir personne :) et que je ne suis pas tout à fait hors charte. Je tente de copier des images .jpg sur une carte SD (telle que formatée à l'achat, je suppose en vfat). Mais la commande cp beziers_ecluses_et_canal-2008-07-23_018.jpg /media/disk/ échoue : Aucun espace disponible sur le périphérique Pourtant de l'espace il y en a plein ! Par contre cp beziers_ecluses_et_canal-2008-07-23_018.jpg /media/disk/beziers18.jpg fonctionne parfaitement. J'ai fait d'autres essais : le problème est incontestablement lié aux noms longs. Ce que je ne comprends pas c'est qu'il existe déjà sur la carte des fichiers avec des noms aussi longs. Y a-t-il une limite au nombre de fichiers à noms longs que l'on peut mettre sur une partition vfat ? J'aimerais, par curiosité intellectuelle, comprendre ce qui ne va pas. Des explications d'un connaisseur ou des liens clairs me feraient plaisir car mes recherches sont infructueuses. Merci. C'est pas tellement les fabriquants que les Windows et Mac qui n'ont que vfat en commun. Sur un Mac OS X Leopard par exemple tu ne peux lire que les partitions mac (hfsplus) et vfat. Llavero USB no monta con 2.6.26
Hola, hasta ayer utilizaba el kernel 2.6.25.6 y el llavero USB de 2GiB que tenía se montaba perfectamente como GENERIC USB (se trata de un minillavero con una tarjeta microsd en su interior), pero ayer instalé el nuevo kernel (2.6.26) y no lo monta (ni hace nada) aunque me lo reconoce cuando lo enchufo. Tengo otro llavero de la misma capacidad que NO es GENERIC USB y ese lo monta de fábula. El syslog me da la siguiente información al montar el llavero Dice algo de capacidad excedida... que NPI a qué se debe. ¿Alguien tiene idea del por qué? ¿Se trata de un error introducido en el 2.6.26? Estoy tratando de instalar sabayon 3.5 final y cuando lanzo el instalador me tira este error: ata3: srts failed (errno=-16). busque en google pero hay muy poca info sobre este error, ¿Incompatibilidad del kernel 2.6.25.9? He leido toda clase de idioteces y burradas en internet respecto a la configuracion de hosts virtuales, lo unico que debes hacer es: en el archivo /etc/apache2/httpd.conf crear entradas asi por cada host: # NameVirtualHost *:80 VirtualHost *:80 ServerName www.lagartorojo.com.ar ServerAlias lagartorojo.com.ar *.lagartorojo.com.ar DocumentRoot /var/www/lagartorojo /VirtualHost VirtualHost *:80 ServerName www.webdehistoria.com.ar DocumentRoot /var/www/webdehistoria /VirtualHost ### en este ejemplo, tenemos los sites www.lagartorojo.com.ar y webdehistoria.com.ar el NameVirtualHost *:80 al inicio del fichero indica el port, todo lo demás que intentes es inutil, lo unico que se le puede mejorar a esto es definir los url para que el usuario no necesite tipear el WWW , eso se hace con comodines, yo no me tomo el trabajo. hazme caso y no pierdas el tiempo esta es la unica configuracion valida. _ Ingresá ya a MSN en Concierto y disfrutá los recitales en vivo de tus artistas favoritos. http://msninconcert.msn.com/music/archive/es-la/archive.aspx

Problemas com letras maiusculas...

Estou tendo problemas com letras maiúsculas, somente quando ativo a tecla Caps Lock! Algumas teclas ficam maiúsculas, outras não. Já tentei todas as dicas no Forum do Debian, e nenhuma resolve meu problema, lembrando que já tentei usar a mesma configuração de Teclado que o Ubuntu usa - fiz questão de instalar o ubuntu na mesma máquina (no Ubuntu funciona perfeitamento), só para verificar a configuração de teclado - , (no caso o mesmo mapa de Teclado) e não funciona Outra coisa o erro só acontece, quando estou usando o console, no modo gráfico funciona sem problemas... Ola amigos, eu gostaria de formatar minha maquina, porem tem muito usuarios cadastrados nela, queria saber se, pra na nova formatacao eu manter os mesmos usuarios, eh soh copiar os passwd shadow etc.. E se pros usuarios do samba tambem é soh copiar o smbpasswd. O pacote console-data contém os arquivos padrão para as ferramentas de console do Linux. Olá Lopes, Tente retirar esses dois serviços da inicialização da máquina e veja se resolve. Dê uma olhada também no log de inicialização. Essa demora pode ser ocasionada por problemas de configuração de rede ou por problemas de dificuldade de acesso à arquivos. Squid + AD
Amigos, faço integração dos usuários do AD para internet no Squid há anos, e nunca deu problema, utilizo kerberos + samba + winbind... o problema é que ontem precisei refazer um dos meus proxies e ele não quer entrar no dominio de jeito nenhum, veja o erro: proxy:~# net ads join -U administrador administrador's password: Failed to join domain: NT_STATUS_NONE_MAPPED não faço mais ideia oq testar já que sempre funcionou assim, revi meu smb.conf workgroup = dominio netbios name = proxy realm = dominio.com.br server string = Proxy Squid com autenticacao no AD Microsoft security = ADS allow trusted domains = No idmap backend = idmap_rid:KPAK=500-1 idmap uid = 500-1 idmap gid = 500-1 template shell = /bin/bash winbind use default domain = Yes winbind enum users = No winbind enum groups = No winbind nested groups = Yes printer admin = Domain Admins (*** essa são só as linhas que alterei no samba, as outras linhas continuam normais ***) revi o /etc/krb5.conf default_realm = DOMINIO.COM.BR revi o /etc/nsswitch.conf passwd: winbind compat group: winbind compat shadow: winbind compat esta tudo configuradinho... inclusive se eu pingar uma maquina assim: ping maquina.dominio.com.brele responde certinho, ou seja, o DNS tb está configurado certo... será que alguém tem alguma ideia do que mais possa ser? sem colocar a maquina no dominio não conseguirei utilizar o ntlm_auth para autenticação... efetuando este teste abaixo deveria retornar informações e não erro como está acontecendo: /usr/bin/ntlm_auth --domain=dominio --username=administrador password: could not obtain winbind separator! Duvida sobre replicação de dados no DRBD
Pessoal, Vou espelhar a partição /home para outro servidor. A partição home fica no /dev/sda7. Configurando o drbd.conf coloquei como device o /dev/sda7, e quando tento iniciar o script /etc/init.d/drbd, vem a mensagem de que a partição esta montada. Claro que o /home não pode ficar desmontada, mas qual device que devo usar para espelhar o /home ? Tenho de criar uma partição vazia e formatar ela ? Mas o que faço com ela ? Ricardo, A versão *estável* (recomendada) é o *Debian Etch 4.0*. Mas você pode baixar também o *Debian Lenny*, que apesar de ser a versão *testing,* também está muito boa (pelo menos não tive problemas com nada). E a versão *instáve*l (recomendada para desenvolvedores) é o *Debian Sid*. Essa IA64 é para os primeiros processodores Intel de 64 bits, o já descontinuado Itanium. Mas no final das contas, basta escolher se você quer estável, testing ou instável (acho que testing seria recomendado pra desktop) e a arquitetura, que no teu caso, é AMD64 ou i386. Pessoal, alguem aqui da lista usa o curriculo lattes do CNPq e está usando o firefox 3.x? Na atualização de meu debian testing o iceweasel foi atualizado, mas alguns formulários do Lattes não funcionam adequadamente com esta nova versão no linux. Parece que no windows funciona, mas não pude testar pois não tenho esta coisa instalada. Será que alguem tem uma situação parecida? Ola, No caso o drbd trabalha com partições virtuais, vc nao ira mais montar a partição fisica no caso /dev/sda7, e sim a partição virtual que devera ser /dev/drbd0 ou /dev/drbd1. Lembrando o drbd nao trabalha com gravação direta na partição fisica, ele grava na partição logica, e ela que vc ira utilizar. O flashplayer eu instalei direto do debian-multimidia [2] (recomendo para quem utiliza amd64). Já o Java, para quem é desenvolvedor, aconselho a baixar o binário no site da Sun (arq. 64bits). Merhaba, bu ethernet device'ların hepsi vlan destekliyor ve debian tanıyor. Zaten vlan olayı kernelin kendisinde biten bir olay olduğu için kartı tanıtman yeterli olacak. Network Bandwidth Monitoring
Hi All, Is there a tool that can monitor bandwidth consumed on a specific user? For example, in my flat network where: internet-cisco router-firewall-linux/windows clients servers I want to monitor a client or want to know who's downloading stuff to the internet or internal network. I want also to monitor or specify a specific bandwidth that he can use so that our internet will not slow. Does Squid helps? Any advice? Thanks. cheers, janskey

xrandr1.2 in etch

Lenny Net Installer issue
Hi everyone, I am trying to install Lenny on my workstation. I have burnt a net install image to disc (LennyBeta2). My pc will not boot on this disc. I get the message that I have a non system disc. If I use a second cdrom drive that is in my workstation I get the same error message. If I boot it on my wifes pc it is OK. So I put an old FreeBSD installation disc in my drive and reboot, it will boot . Why won't the lenny disc boot on my workstation??? Hi Martin You say your new Lenny CD boots on your wife's PC, so it would appear you have correctly burnt the ISO image. You also say that an old FreeBSD CD boots on your workstation, which in turn suggests that your workstation hardware and BIOS settings are ok. So this could be an intermittent fault (unlikely) or more probably some sort of incompatibility issue between your workstation's hardware and the CD. Did you use a re-writable (RW) CD rather than a normal 'one use' CD? Maybe your hardware is fussy in this respect. Or is it a +R versus -R problem? kdeprintd error
ok, I'm not sure what to fix. My wife tried to print an email message, and she gets this error: A print error occurred. Error message received from system: Unable to start child print process. The KDE print server (kdeprintd) could not be contacted. Check that this server is running. on My local account, I pull up kmail, and print any message I want. Whats wrong and how do I fix it? Basic info for the starting up of a server
Hello, I'm a new user of debian and I'd like to ask you some advices to configure and start up a small linux server, In particular, I'd like to integrate a firewall that will protect the internal LAN with the rest of the internet, a DHCP server, a samba server and a mail server. the server is situated inside my house and I can reach it with one static ip address from the LAN and with one DynDns name from internet. I'd like also to know how to configure a mail server with some accoutns that I can reach with the dyndns name. Could you suggest me some good material to read? and then, Could you indicate me if there are good system to administer and configure the server with a web interface? I heard something about webmin but I don't know if it's the best one. Accent chars instead of VGA graphics from Ubuntu system (terminal via ssh)
Yeah, the subject is too short. I posted the following on the Ubuntu forums with no reply so I thought I'd try our group. Having just installed Mythbuntu 8.04.1 onto a recently procured computer, I'm doing tasks via ssh. I have several Debian Sid boxes and I've not run into this issue until I began using the Mythbuntu box. What I see are VGA style graphics characters replaced by accented alphabet letters. Here is a snapshot of Midnight Commander: http://n0nb.us/pix/snap4.jpg Ordinarily it appears as this on the rest of my machines: http://n0nb.us/pix/snap5.jpg While I'm inclined to think it's a terminal issue, I suppose it could be something else such as locale? Also, it's not just Midnight Commander as I saw the same thing with Aptitude. certainly not the most critical problem, but at least on my system (mainly Etch, I also tried the fortune package from Lenny) doesn't work. when I trace it, I can see that it reads a bunch of fortue data files but that is obviously just for its own pleasure - it just silently exits w/o any error.
