Pour mon cas, le problème est que le lien entre le driver HPAIO et le scanner lui-même n'est effectué. J'ai eu ce probleme avec une squeze 6.0.2 installation toute fraiche sans aucun paquet additionnel. C'est uniquement pour le scanner, non accessible du réseau, que je suis dans l'impasse. Bonsoir à Tous, Comme vous le savez, OpenOffice (OO) appartient maintenant à Oracle. Il existait un plug-in gratuit permettant de traduire un document OO (.ODT) au format .DOC. Décision sympa d'Oracle, ce plugin est maintenant payant au prix de 65 Euro. Je ne sais si j'ai utilisé ce plug-in, enregistrant, selon le cas, mes documents au format OO ou Microsoft-Office. Avez vous des infos plus précises sur ce plug-in : est-il plus performant que l'enregistrement direct dans OO au format .DOC ? Salut, Le support de la lecture et l'enregistrement du format doc a été une grosse polémique lors du début de LibreOffice, certains libristes ne voulaient rien avoir avec les formats propriétaires, d'autres, pragmatiques, parlaient d'inter-opérabilité. Au final, le support du format doc est disponible dans LibreOffice, qui a remplacé OpenOffice chez Debian. OpenOffice était géré par Sun, puis Oracle et maintenant par la fondation Apache. Le plugin était en opensource, Oracle a le droit de le vendre et la Document Fondation de le libérer. Por último sólo tendrás que configurar la aplicación asociada según para qué quieras usar el módem (fax, marcador telefónico...). Para salir a Internet, wvdial suele funcionar muy bien. De darse el caso cambiaría de nuevo. Por lo que dicen en la página web (http://ftp.es.debian.org/), el repo lo gestiona Debian España (http://www.debian-es.org/) en un servidor donado por Hostalia. Hola, estoy intentando instalar debian. Me he descargado el archivo debian 6.0.2.1 y lo he descomprimido con WINZIP en archivos de programa, en la carpeta install. Aquí al ejecutar el setup me dice que no encuentra el archivo win32-loader que lo tiene al lado, por eso no me explico el mensaje. Salu2

OT Instalar postgresql-9.0.4 en debian 6.0
Hola, Me bajé hace unos días postgresql-9.0.4, y sesintalé la 8.4 que tengo en el repo para instalarme esta pero como son sus fuentes no corre igual a como yo lo hacía en openSUSE, es decir, aquí no pincha, ./configure make make install ... lo primero que leí fue que esto no es válido para debian. Si pero no tengo internet. Sin embargo tengo acceso a una intranet que tiene el repo de la 6.0, incluso yo lo tengo también en forma local pero me está tirando un error. Ahora cuando trato desde el repo de la intranet, si trato primero con el server me dice que tengo que tener el cliente, luego si trato de instalar el cliente me dice que necesita libpg5(de la 9.0~) y aquí se marea. Bueno acabo de instalarlo desde los fuente y para curiosidad mía, el gestor synaptic que dice que tengo instalada la 8.4 y no la 9.0.4. Y últimamente se ha fomentado la idea de que mientras mas daño se le haga al imperio (léase USA) mejor. Hace tiempo escribí en un post que, en las inmediaciones del edificio del SENIAT (el organismo que recauda los impuestos) cuyo lema fundamental es evasión cero, en un sitio llamado Plaza Venezuela, puedes encontrar la mayor variedad de software y películas piratas de las cuales puedas tener conocimiento. En las calles de Caracas consigues a personas (buhoneros les llaman) vendiendo ejemplares de libros actuales, que van desde libros de autores nacionales hasta conocidos autores latinoamericanos, que los presentan como si fueran los originales pero que en realidad son copias piratas de cuyas ventas sus autores no perciben un centavo. Tenho usado o ext4 em servidores e até agora não observei nenhum problema. Creio que ele realmente é mais estável que o ext3. O ext3 apresentou um problema um vez, quando configurei um servidor como você está fazendo é reservei a maior partição para o /var/log. Era um disco de +/- 120 GB usado exclusivamente para o /var. O problema é a limitação no número de inodes. Mesmo com espaço sobrando, tive que mudar os arquivos de log para uma outra partição. Não conhecia este problema, até tê-lo em um servidor. Creio que o melhor sistema de partição para discos com Linux é o LVM. Ele é mais flexível quanto ao tamanho de disco e é mais fácil em caso de redimensionamento e movimentação da partição para outro disco. No caso de servidores Linux, é o padrão usado por servidores RedHat (RHEL, Fedora, CentOS ...). Até mais. Em 09-07-2011 22:50, Eder S. G. Você misturou alhos com bugalhos , no meu entender. Me parece que você tinha uma partição ntfs e usou o primeiro disco do Debian para particionar o disco com o gparted do ubuntu! Breno, é o seguinte, essas coisas têm que ser tratadas com muita atenção e observando todos os detalhes e uma sequência rígida, senão nem mesmo o ubuntu vai dar certo! E olha que o Ubuntu é uma distro porreta, no dizer de meu amigo cearenço! Se bem me lembro, é o seguinte: 1- Fazer bkp, é o primeiro mandamento! 2-O melhor é fazer um particionamento com o gparted, usando um live cd. É mais fácil e mais seguro e mais claro! 3-Num disco só é possível existirem 4 partições primárias, e somente 4! 4-Eu sugiro que seja feita a primeira partição uma ntfs, para o windows. 5-A segunda partição pode ser uma partição estendida( que é primária), que ocupe o restante do disco! 6-E dentro da partição estendida :A- criar uma partição fat32, que possibilita que você salve nela arquivos do windows e do linux e , cujos arquivos podem ser acessados tanto por um como por outro sistema! B- criar uma partição ext4, para o system C-criar uma partição swap e D- criar uma partição ext4, para o /home 7-Sair do gparted e iniciar a instalação do Debian pelo cd. 8-Quando chegar em particionar, escolher a opção MANUAL, que lhe dá oportunidade de gravar no disco as opções que você fez no particionamento. 9- E por diante é tudo conforme as intruções que vão aparece na tela, não se esquecenco que a partição system não deve ter o flag inicialização ligado! Duas coisas: 1) Mouse USB desligando; 2) MUTT não enxerga o $PATH
Olá, Duas coisas: 1) O mouse USB fica desligando sempre quando estou usando a bateria do notebook. Deve ser para economizar energia. Mas, isso enche, pois, tenho que ficar clicando e mexendo nele até acordar novamente. Quando o notebook esta ligado direto na rede, isso nao acontece. 2) quando inicio o mutt via menu do gnome, ele nao enxerga o mesmo path que é visto por meio de um emulado re terminal. Eu tenho no $PATH uma pasta local (/home/user/bin), mas, se eu inicio o mutt pelo menu do gnome (Aplicativos Internet Mutt), ele nao enxerga esse caminho e não executa nada que esteja la dentro. Nautilus file browser uses its concept of ordering files by name. While the gnome2 terminal does that correctly, the file browser mixes up files, which, for computational chemistry, in the presence of many composite names, is not what it should. Hi all, I discovered, that ntfs-3g can not mount ntfs filesystems any more (running as root). Strangely no error messages are shown. Can someone confirm this behaviour? I checked the buglist, and the only one similar to this bug might be http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=630992 but I am not sure, if this behaviour deserves a new bugreport. hearse configuration question
I installed hearse on debian squeeze and got it configured using package defaults. When I run hearse from the command line to upload bones files though hearse errors out being unable to open /var/games/nethack. I'd like to have hearse actually work on this system if possible, and probably need to change something to get this problem cleared. To my internal hosts the system should use the fixed IPv6 addresses, to certain external hosts (like my vServer) as well if possible, but to others it should be the random IPv6 address. Since my Squid is running on the system with the Aiccu tunnel endpoint, it will use the tunnel endpoint IPv6 address for all HTTP traffic. If I want to radnomize the IPs, I have to move the squid to another system in my IPv6 range. The randomized IPv6 addresses should be from a certain range I can use with ip6tables. And how to I do this with DHCP for guests (should work with windows and linux)? For my taste IPv6 with its automatism is much less manageable than IPv4. Well, with IPv4 you have NAT, simply because you mostly don’t get more than one IPv4 address from your provider. With IPv6 your provider should give you a network (at least /64 meaning you have 2^64 - 1 hosts), because there is no NAT support for now. If you use randomized IPv6 addresses, your provider will have some problems to count your systems. But if he analyzes the traffic and does a deep packet inspection, he will be able to do so. But this can happen with IPv4 and NAT as well. If you use a provider with IPv4 connection and run a IPv4-IPv6 tunnel like Sixxs, then your provider will see only the IPv4 address. But if he is really interested in your traffic, he can get more information as well. So if your provider really wants to count your hosts, he will be able to do so, no matter, if you are using NAT or not. Can I get the same ability with the approach you mention? Well, this depends on the protocols you will use. ;-) Squid will at least unify the IP addresses, but the HTTP header within the TCP/IP package may contain the original IP. You don't have to worry about that. Your ISP will give you the same service you already have. Having one -or cents of- IP addresses is a plus, a present and you can do with them whatever you want (i.e., you can use all of them or not). IPv6 is something similar like it was dial-up but now with better facilities and additions (static IP(s), routers and firewalls). VNC server
I start the vnc server on Debian linux. I tried connect to server but only get gray screen. It seems to be there is problem with x-term. Yes and no, see later. I've run with unmatched HELO and PTR for at least
seven years, and never had a rejection on that basis. I don't send to a
huge range of ISPs, but it does include AOL, which is notoriously picky.
What I do have is the HELO resolving to my IP address, even though the
PTR is something else.
From the exim4 specification:
The RFCs specifically state that mail should not be refused on the
basis of the content of the HELO or EHLO commands. However, there are
installations that do want to be strict in this area, and to support
them, Exim has the helo_verify option.
When helo_verify is set, a HELO or EHLO command must precede any MAIL
commands in an incoming SMTP connection. If there wasn't one, all MAIL
commands are rejected with a permanent error code. In addition, the
argument supplied by HELO or EHLO is verified. If it is in the form of
a literal IP address in square brackets, it must match the actual IP
address of the sending host. If it is a domain name, the sending host's
name is looked up from its IP address (whether or not it matches
host_lookup) and compared against it. If the comparison fails, the IP
addresses associated with the HELO or EHLO name are looked up using
gethostbyname() and compared against the sending host's IP address. If
none of them match, the HELO or EHLO command is rejected with a
permanent error code, and an entry is written in the main and reject
logs.
Clearly I fail the first test but pass the second.

Indeed so, and I mentioned I use somebody else's HELO when using telnet
to a mail server. Obviously a lot of people don't go further than an
existence check. To be honest, I hadn't realised exim's HELO tests went
that far, and it's possible they didn't when I first configured it all
those years ago.
The sender_verify check is a useful one. I also ask for an ident
reply with a 30-second timeout, drop about twenty countries by code in
sender or HELO, make some attempt to spot DHCP-based PTRs and drop a
couple of thousand CIDR blocks, including most of APNIC. Oh, and a
couple of particularly 'difficult' foreign ISPs by name. Every little
helps, and of typically 1000-5000 bogus connections a day, about two get
through to the inbox, and that's with no content filtering at all. If
I'm using Thunderbird, then it will normally spot those two.
Here's the statistics for 24 hours to 07:30 today:

The numbers don't add up accurately because there are a few minor
categories I don't count, and the ones which give up during the ident
timeout don't get counted as rejected. A large number don't run ident
servers, but that's true of many legitimate mail servers. The good guys
will wait thirty seconds, however, and unfortunately, some of the
spammers also will.
Virtually all the spam is sent to unknown recipients, the last category
are the few which didn't fail other tests. Possibly the occasional one
is a mistyped name, but sadly I can't afford to send NDRs because
almost all will be NDR spam. I do actually check the reject file every
day for messages to the few legitimate recipients, but it's rare that I
see even one, and extremely rare when it's someone who should have
been allowed through. Maybe one of those a year, which is why I don't
like content filtering, which has a much poorer false positive rate.
There's no way of knowing how many of my emails go to exim4
installations, nor how they are configured. I do get the impression
from mail sending problems on a Microsoft forum I also use, that many
mail servers have similar configurations to mine. I'm not sure how far
the last two Exchange versions can go in terms of spam rejection, but

Greetings, It seems to be a package problem, as well. I purged and reinstalled the package, with the same result as before. It might have something to do with the bug, I linked in my first post. I can't see, if /etc/mtab was written (I used tail for watching). So, I reverted back to the prior version and set it to hold (workaround). Maybe the next version will be fixed. I can wait for it. As 1.) I am the only one with this problem, and 2.) other bugreports are already existing (which might got the same reasons like in my problem) and 3.) For easy installation, you should use the nvidia-kernel-dkms and nvidia-glx package. Make sure, the linux-headers afre installed. module-assistant does that for you. When everything is installed, especially the -dkms packages, then the modules will be automatically built (thank you, dear developers for the idea of dkms!) Maybe it is necessary to install the package nvidia-glx by hand. Change the entry in xorg.conf from nouveau to nvidia and leave the rest as is. For testing purposes I suggest to move your login-manager out of the way, so it will not start (for example move /etc/init.d/kdm to /root). When you restart you get a console and can start with startx and see the output when it fails. When everything is working fine, move kdm (or your choosen login-manager like gdm or xdm) back to /etc/init.d/ and have fun. Good luck!
