Good to know it can work. I bought this one because SANE advises it does work, in fact it's been on the fully functioning SANE list for ages, which I think correlates to your experience of it working for some time on Squeeze. So I had hopes that it would work directly it was plugged in. ___ News is what somebody somewhere wants to suppress; all the rest is just advertising. Re: SANE - trying to get an LIDE 110 working in Debian Squeeze.
Sorry, Paul - I didn't mean to send off list. Here it is on the list where it ought to have been in the first place. I ought to have said that I had previously had it working for a year on Squeeze on my old computer. I had exactly the same problem. I even downloaded the up-to-date tgz of sane-genesys from the SANE website, uninstalled the Squeeze package, installed the SANE package - no help. I fiddled a bit. No good. I fiddled some more. Gave up. Bought a new one. Uninstalled everything. Start again. Still no joy. Decide that that one was also faulty, and arrange to send it back to Amazon. Plugged it in again the next week before packing it up, and it worked. :-O Well, sort of. It is not communicating correctly with my printer (complains about a missing pipe, or something), and I have to scan as root (and yes, I am in the scanner group). But at least I can now scan! Sorry, not much help. But at least you know that you are not alone. ;-( Lisi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
