La configuration peut être bonne et le problème matériel: J'ai mis trois semaines sur un vieux 486 à comprendre (et encore, mettons à cerner le problème) que si il n'y avait pas un écran même éteint (si!) branchée sur cette vieille radasse, l'imprimante n'était pas détectée; je m'en suis sorti en branchant un écran cassé et éteint sur cette machine (serveur d'imprimante). Merci pour le renseignement J'ai testé ca de suite et toujours même problème. Il me dit que ma configuration a été supprimée puis si je veux que XVGA16 soit ma configuration par défaut (euh si j'ai bien compris...) Alors je répond oui puis il me propose de créer les fichiers de configuration. La je passe sur le terminal 2 et je tape dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 Il me dit que les packages ne sont pas installés. Et donc en continuant sans cela il me sort toujours le même flood comme quoi il ne peut se connecter au sevreur X et que les fichiers de configuration n'ont donc pas été créés error = 111 me dit-il . (rappel, pour le faire à la Debian, http://nicolaxx.free.fr/docs/noyau/noyau.html). Etonnant, c'est ce que je me suis dis, alors qu'un 2.4.16 a la bonne version. J'ai une explication: N'ayant pu faire une Net-Install (ECI_USB_ADSL) j'ai utilisé les images iso de la SID provenant d'un DVD Linux Magazine. Il s'avère que toutes les versions 2.4.18 (de mars 2002) du kernel_image sur ce DVD ont un répertoire /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/char/drm-4.0 et pas de drm version 3 pour xfree 4.1. Ces versions correspondent au release 2.4.18-1. J'ai donc fait un upgrade (ftp Debian) et tout fonctionne correctement, la nouvelle version kernel-image-2.4.18-686 est le release 2.4.18-5.
