[Declude.JunkMail] ORBZ gone

2002-03-20 Thread R. Scott Perry

It appears that ORBZ has gone the way of ORBS and died. There is a message
claiming to be from the person who runs it that is floating around the
Internet saying that he is facing criminal charges (because ORBZ would try
relaying with MAIL FROM: user@[127.0.0.1], which would cause Lotus
Domino systems to crash).

The www.orbz.org site is no longer reachable, so this appears very likely
to be true.

If true, it means that you should stop using the ORBZIN and ORBZOUT tests
in Declude JunkMail.

[Declude.JunkMail] Per User defaults

2002-03-20 Thread Ken Lizotte

Hello Scott,

We have been using Declude Junk Mail for almost one
year and have about 5% of our users that have opted out of the program for one
reason or another.

I have a question about the per user default file.
I have set all the tests to IGNORE or WARN. But my question is, can I just have
an empty file (no tests)with their user name or maybe just one test. Maybe
this would speed things just a little bit. I don't really need the speed or
performance that bad, but why check for no reason.

Thanks in advance.
Ken

You can do that, but the tests may still get run (just no actions performed
on them).

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] ORBZ gone

2002-03-20 Thread R. Scott Perry

Verified in a discussion on SPAM-L list.

Verified by who?

When ORBS died, there were tons of rumors, many so widespread that most
people just assumed they were true, but few actual facts. Since the ORBZ
site is no longer reachable, there isn't an easy source of reliable
information.

I know that there is discussion on the SPAM-L list about it, but has anyone
on that list actually verified that it is true? I just didn't claim it to
be a fact because of the ORBS incident, which took a couple weeks before it
could be proven that ORBS was really gone. I just don't want to see
another A friend of a friend of my brother's wife's sister in law's
favorite bartender told me that... (which often gets written in an E-mail
as It is a fact that...).

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] SpamReview Download v1.0.21

2002-03-20 Thread Tom Schwarz

On adding the Subject to the list... The list is the Q files and the Q
files do not include the subject. In order to load the list quickly I don't
want to open the D file if I don't have to. Maybe Scott (or anyone) has a
suggestion that would help me get the data for the list quickly without
opening both files.

I've been thinking about a count. I will add that in the next release.

Thanks for the feedback, Tom

The sorting is great! Thanks for the updates!

Here's a couple more suggestions:

Having the subject field in the the to and from fields would be really
nice so we could sort by subject.

It would also be nice to know how many emails (spool files) are currently
known to spamreview...

Thanks again for the great program!

Jim
