[Bug 121243] Re: Keyboard accelerators are incoherent

2007-06-26 Thread Gonzhauser
My version of Ubuntu is Feisty Fawn, german localization.
1. Selecting Anwendungen (Applications), Orte (Places) or System with the
mouse or my personal
keyboard accelerator: Not possible to jump to a category by pressing b for
Büro or g for Grafik.
2. Selecting Anwendungen it is possible to go down with the mouse or arrow
key to Büro, then the g or b
accelerator is working
3. Say you have only one category with accelerator key s; after pressing s
the focus is correctly on the first item of the next
subcategory.
4. Say you have two categories with accelerator key s; it is possible to jump
from one to the other with s but there is no way of going to the subcategory.
This should be possible with Enter
5. Say you are in a subcategory and want to go back one step in the hierarchy
(from Gimp to Graphics). This should be possible with Esc but currently
the whole menu disappears.

[Bug 118745] Re: default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small

2007-06-26 Thread Martijn van de Streek
Tim, you should try to set the font to the right size, while keeping the
DPI the same, calculated value. The DPI is getting more and more
important as high-pixel-density monitors appear (I have a 150dpi laptop
here), as people usually don't want to read 5 pixel high fonts on those
screens. If we get more programs to cope with DPI properly, we won't
have to solve this problem in the future, when all panels are 150dpi.

[Bug 120392] Re: CAnnot delete Calendars in Evolution 2.10

2007-06-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
There is a backup settings and a restore settings in the menu, you
can use them instead of copying datas by hand. When you copy the
.evolution directory you also have to copy the gconf configuration. If
you break your configuration because you don't know what you are doing
and don't copy everything you need that's not a software bug. Anyway
your bug is different of the one reported here which happens to the
submitter without copying any configuration. You can open an another bug

[Bug 120278] Re: [Gutsy] VLC Crashes instantly fails to Start

2007-06-26 Thread Nemes Ioan Sorin
Same problem with Inkscape and Listen - I compiled Inkscape from SVN Trunk
...same gslice error ( GSlice: g_thread_init() must be called before all other
GLib functions; memory corruption due to late invocation of g_thread_init() has
been detected; )
then I uninstall it and I put Inkscape from Synaptic, same error, then I
download the developer snapshoot release - same error.

If someone will check on google for Gutsy gslice, someone will see
that this error is working for a lot of programs not only for VLC.

I do a test - I tried to use VLC with GTK themes ( not GTK 2 ) ...well,
VLC is working - but with GTK 2 themes not.

The question is - we will have to wait for each application maintainer
to change code to work with gslice OR to change gslice ?

For me Inkscape is dead and I don't see the light here. I don't use
Gutsy for production but is impossible for me to test Inkscape new
features.

[Bug 86426] Re: MASTER: [Feisty] Evolution always tries to print A4

2007-06-26 Thread Mark Erbaugh
Here is some more information that may help.

I am running Evolution 2.10.1 (the version that comes with Fiesty).
Under an older version (2.6.1), when you go to print, the print dialog
has a 'paper' tab. This tab allows you select, among other things, the
paper size. This tab does not show up under 2.10.1. My guess is that
if the tab showed up, we would be able to change the paper size to
letter as I believe that's what I did when I first started printing with
2.6.1.

As a work-around, could someone figure out where this paper tab saves
it's information. Perhaps we could edit this file manually to get letter
size printing working until the print dialog is fixed.

I also implemented the chance in the/etc/papersize file and other gnome
applications now print in letter size

Re: [Bug 118745] Re: default desktop/panel menu font sizes too small

2007-06-26 Thread Tim Hull
The bug I filed is that if I do this - set the DPI to the calculated size -
the fonts are gigantic.
That is why I don't have it set that way...

On 6/26/07, Martijn van de Streek [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

Tim, you should try to set the font to the right size, while keeping the
DPI the same, calculated value. The DPI is getting more and more
important as high-pixel-density monitors appear (I have a 150dpi laptop
here), as people usually don't want to read 5 pixel high fonts on those
screens. If we get more programs to cope with DPI properly, we won't
have to solve this problem in the future, when all panels are 150dpi.

My dvd drive tries to work When I put a cd audio, it reads the data
information, but when I hit play it makes a loud noise and you can see

does nothing, or in one case it showed a first image and stopped there
like a still picture. The pc however can play sounds from the internet,
and the movie player can play quicktimes trailer movies, but no DVDs, no

[Bug 122302] Modified time changes when copying a file to a samba share. (It is set to the current time)

2007-06-26 Thread christoph
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

To reproduce:
1. Select an old file from the local computer. (Right-Click Properties says
Modified time 2002 for instance)
2. Open any samba share (with nautilus)
3. Copy the old local file to the share (Just drag it into nautilus)
4. Right-Click properties on the new file (on the share) gives Modified time
2007; or whatever the current time is;
even though the file hasn't been modified!

This same problem also occurs when copying files to the samba share with
smbclient.
---
Oh, I forgot:
If you use windows explorer to copy a file to the samba share, the modified
time stays the same.

[Bug 122321] GNOME “Create Document” f ails with NFS-mounted $HOME

2007-06-26 Thread Michael Trausch
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Prior to moving my $HOME to an NFS server on my home network, I made
*extensive* use of the Create Document template functionality accessible
by right-clicking on the desktop or in any folder and selecting “Create
Document”, and then the type of the document that I wanted to create
from a template.

However, now that $HOME is NFS-mounted, “Create Document” no longer
works. The menu shows up, and I can select items from it, but it never
copies the template from ~/Templates; I have to do this manually now.

If I go back to not using NFS, it works again. However, the whole
reason I have NFS is to exist with NIS and make it so that I have SSO
capability on my home network; one copy of $HOME, etc.

[Bug 121580] Re: Wrong interface to file permissions on Nautilus

2007-06-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug. You can set
/apps/nautilus/preferences/show_advanced_permissions in gconf-editor to
get the old dialog. Closing the request since that's an user option and
it's not really easy to manage a list of comments like that in a bug.
Feel free to open specific bugs about the simplified interface if you
think this one should be changed

[Bug 5806] Re: gnome-panel crash for specific user

2007-06-26 Thread Ancho
This bug is also affecting me. The System where working fine, until
yesterday that the computer turn off because of power off. Then when I
try to login as the user that I where using before the shutdown I get a
error message from BugZilla. I attach the file.. But the error only
happens when I log in with that user, when I log with a different user
everything is fine. Gnome-Panel version 2.16.1. Ubuntu 6.10 Edgy

Thank you for your bug. What format is DAT? Could you attach an
example to the bug? Can you play it with some other software?

[Bug 122315] Re: gcalctool 0 to the power of 0

2007-06-26 Thread Jérôme Guelfucci
Well I don't know, it seems to be a problematic subject, for example I
have a Ti-89 and when I calculate 0^0 it outputs 1. Maybe we should
report a bug about that :)

[Bug 86426] Re: MASTER: [Feisty] Evolution always tries to print A4

2007-06-26 Thread hggdh
I was able to reproduce this on a clean Feisty box that did not have any
Evolution installed before. I will try to find out what is responsible
for this, and will report back ASAP.
