[Bug 116990] Re: Rhythmbox sound problems (clicking/snapping/crackling) when not using crossfading backend

2007-10-08 Thread DarkMageZ
before you go ahead and implement that solution. i've gone ahead and asked the
rhythmbox dev's about the sideeffects of that fix...
it WILL break any plugins that attempt to add filters or additional sinks into
the pipeline. luckily there are none of those already in rhythmbox itself yet
tho.

so this will break rhythmbox in the future when such a plugin is
released to the mainstream or break it for those playing with
experimental plugins.

[Bug 150772] file picker doesn't cope with disappearing mounts

2007-10-08 Thread Daniel Stone
Public bug reported:

I was uploading files to Flickr (through the web UI, just selected them
straight off the CF card in Firefox), deleted them afterwards, unmounted the CF
card, and resumed browsing. I accidentally hit Ctrl-O in Firefoxat one point,
and was greeted with this:
http://www.fooishbar.org/tmp/file-dialog-of-despair.png

It's a bit hostile: I haven't asked it to do anything it can't do, just
open a file. Surely it should just fall back to the Home directory if
so?

I've reported this against GTK because I think FF just uses the stock
GTK filepicker, but if it doesn't, feel free to reassign.

[Bug 150356] Re: Gnome filechooser shows wrong dates in Gutsy

2007-10-08 Thread digger vermont
Hi Pedro,

I've tried many gnome applications including some that are python/gnome
apps. I also tried starting an app with sudo. Its also the same all
the variations of the file chooser such as one's with image previews and
the one that give a very limited selection until you open the browser
part of the dialog.

In all casses I get the same results - the dates are wrong.

My timezone and the results also of the date command:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/timezone
America/New_York

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ date
Mon Oct 8 19:57:54 EDT 2007

I could reinstall some packages on the chance that I have some corrupted
files. Which would be best to try?

Same here.

Gutsy Beta, 2.6.22.13-generic Kernel.
Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 07) Subsystem:
Creative Labs SBLive! Player 5.1

Seems a Rhythmplayer issue, as Movie Player plays files fine.
'Crossfading' solution seems to the trick here as well.

Somebody give 'doc' a beer and tell him he forgot to implement the
equalizer, while were there.

[Bug 90528] Re: network monitor applet - cryptic message

2007-10-08 Thread Philipp Kern
Actually I do not consider this a bug in gnome-netstatus as you
specified an invalid network device which does not exist at the point in
time you hit the icon.

What's your WLAN card/driver? One might consider it a bug that it takes
down the device when the kill switch is activated. My ipw3945 doesn't do
that.

[Bug 150796] Force Quit should be run at a higher priority than normal applications

2007-10-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I am testing Gutsy Beta at the moment and, as has become horribly common
with the -intel driver and compiz, I often have my CPU fly to 100% due
to one bug or another.

This morning I had Firefox max out the CPU. I tried to close it with the
[x] and waited for the Force Quit dialogue to appear. 10 minutes later
it still hadn't done so.

My understanding is that applications can be run at different priorities
and that, were the Force Quit application run at a higher priority than
normal applications (such as Firefox), the Force Quit box would be
displayed promptly even if a normal-priority application was stuck in an
infinite loop.

At the moment it seems that Force Quit fails me when I need it the most!

[Bug 12445] Re: right-click behaviour with gnome menu

2007-10-08 Thread Eugenia Loli-Queru
Yeah, I found it now. It's on the nautilus sidebar, which I always have
turned off. I think that it's kinda weird to have an SMB share mounted
for months, and only be removed from a particular spot, but not from the
Places menu and FileOpenDialog where it also appears.

[Bug 150817] nautilus preview continously launches gnome-video-thumbnailer on downloading videos

2007-10-08 Thread Mike Fedyk
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Seen in: Dapper, Feisty, Gutsy. I started with Dapper (Moved from
Debian) and avoided Edgy.

Laptop: It will drain the battery, spin up the fans, etc.

In this specific case, I noticed it because I need about 90% of my P3
933Mhz system to watch some higher resolution videos with vlc or totem
and had several second video skips (even though gnome-video-thumbnailer
is niced) when watching a video.

Interim solution: Switch to a different directory that doesn't have
downloading videos. This won't help if you happen to be downloading the
video to the desktop though.

Proposed solution: If a file has been modified previously in the last N
seconds and has been modified again, do not attempt to thumbnail the
file.

[Bug 106621] Re: Gnome Trash doesn't show deleted files on ntfs-3g partitions

2007-10-08 Thread phazei
I have the same problem.

I just deleted an item on my ntfs partition. I made a mistake and went
to find it but couldn't find it anywhere. Finally i found this bug
report and found it in .Trash-$user on the ntfs partition.

Was not listed in normal trash at all.

Now that ntfs-3g is by defaul in gutsy, I would say it will be *very*
common.

I've no clue what reports I could post to assist. If someone lets me
know, I'll try.

[Bug 139468] Re: [gutsy] Totem fullscreen changes monitor refresh rate

2007-10-08 Thread fstafforini
I confirm this bug, using totem 2.20 with gstreamer 0.10.14.
Refresh rate allways switches to 60hz on fullscreen toggle (moreover 60hz is
broken for me due to some bug with xorg intel drivers: the display is squashed
to the right 3/4 of the screen at 60hz, producing a distorted image; works fine
at 75hz) - so there is no way of seeing fullscreen movies at any refresh rate
other than 60Hz, apart from the obvious remark that totem shouldn't be causing
this.

[Bug 139468] Re: [gutsy] Totem fullscreen changes monitor refresh rate

2007-10-08 Thread fstafforini
The same bug is also present in totem-xine (perhaps this means it is not
related to the engine but to totem itself?). Refresh switches to 60hz

By the way, I'm using xserver-xorg-video-intel driver, on an intel g965
(GMA X3000) graphics chipset. The screen is set at 1440x900.
