[Bug 154747] spamassassin spelled wrong

2007-10-20 Thread John Cudd
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

How to find this bug...
-Open Evolution
-Go to: Edit Preferences Mail Preferences Junk (tab)

Spamassassin is spelled as Spamassasin in the preferences menu. This
misspelling is done twice on the Junk tab. I checked the plug-ins window
and it is spelled correctly there. This should be a quick fix. I found
it to be a problem when trying to find the Spamassassin package in
Synaptic.

[Bug 150193] Re: Remote Login via XDMCP is not working in Ubuntu Gusty/7.10

2007-10-20 Thread Nick McGill
I don't know whether this helps, but it seems to be a problem with the 7.10
remote login.
I set up 2 machines, 1 Feisty, and one Gutsy. The fiesty machine can login to
Gutsy and Feisty systems, but the Gutsy machine cannot connect to any remote
systems with XDMCP.

This happens with Ubuntu and Xubuntu (I haven't tested Kubuntu).

These machines are still 'vanilla', so if I ca be of any assistance, please let
me know.

I had the same issue and the value 0.5 do not work to me. The Print

[Bug 154761] sudoku does not auto-save game progress

2007-10-20 Thread Kero Hazel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-games

To reproduce:
1. Start a new game of Sudoku
2. Fill in one or more squares
3. Quit Sudoku
4. Re-open Sudoku and see that the game is in a virgin state!

The original source had a couple lines in gnome_sudoku.py:
else: #always save the game
self.gconf['current_game']=self.sudoku_tracker.save_game(self)

These should be on line 534 in the existing file, after these:
if not self.won:
if not self.gsd.grid:
self.gconf['current_game']=''

Clearly the current_game gconf key is not being set. What's more, even
if you fake in some data (which happens to consist of a string of
numbers representing the grid values), Sudoku just ignores the key and
starts the current grid from scratch.

Changing other settings is retained correctly in gconf. This bug was not
present in Feisty.

[Bug 112518] Re: Switch User freezes at blank screen

2007-10-20 Thread gdi2k
I have the same problem on Gutsy (final). I have dual screen (twinview,
not xinerama). As soon as I switch back from another user, the screens
go blank (light gray). I can usually still switch back to the previous
user successfully, or I can switch to a console, or I can use CTRL + ALT
+ Backspace to get me back to GDM.

I'm using an nvidia Geforce 7600 GS with both screens connected via DVI.
I'm using Metacity.

Oddly, the left edge of the right screen looks like it has a shadow
cast, so maybe some sort of effect is still occurring. However, rotating
the cube doesn't have any effect, unlike a comment made above. Killing
compiz.real from a console fixes the problem.

Applying SyncToVBlank=1 has no effect, unlike a comment above.

[Bug 144477] Re: Gnometris use 100% of CPU after a minute

2007-10-20 Thread srturner47
I can also confirm this behavior. Tetris shouldn't require these kind
of system resources! The game starts fine. This usually happens after
playing for about a minute when my gameboard gets more full and complex.
If I just let the blocks fall, everything is ok. When I rotate or drop
them using the down arrow key the system resources go into the high 90%
and the game is extremely slugish.

Here are some specs on my computer:
-Overclocked AMD AthlonXP...approximately 2800 equivalent.

2007-10-20 Thread Papamatti

[Bug 149964] Re: evolution: URLs with ampersand () don't work

2007-10-20 Thread Neil Woolford
There's now a proposed patch for this problem. (Milan Crha 18/10).

Any chance of testing this and getting it adopted quickly if it works?
This is exactly the kind of bug that is confusing and disturbing to
'average users' but too easy for geeks to say Just edit the html tag
out in the address bar, Luser. Which doesn't help Linux advocacy.
We're already stuck with enough (legal) problems getting people's MP3s
and DVD movies to play...

I also notice that in the body of emails from eBay the item names
(clickable links) also display the same symptom, with ampersands
expanded to amp; Likely the same underlying problem is causing this as
well, and only cosmetic, but worth checking that the proposed fix
addresses this too. If it doesn't, then something is still hiding there
ready to bite us!

[Bug 129152] Re: cannot set number or name of workspaces from workspace switcher applet

2007-10-20 Thread Marco
The solution is simple (and it works with ALL distros).
If you have compiz enabled (aka desktop effects), launch gconf-editor - apps
- compiz - screen0 - options - set hsize from 2 to 4. That's all! No reboot
is necessary.

[Bug 154804] Syncevolution process waits forever

2007-10-20 Thread Juha Siltala
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have been using Syncevolution ( http://www.estamos.de/projects/SyncML/
) to synchronize my Evolution calendar and addressbook with
ScheduleWorld ( http://scheduleworld.com ) and further my mobile phone.
This was broken with Gutsy upgrade. The syncevolution process produces
no output to terminal, but the log shows items being sent and received.
However, no changes are made either to Evolution or Syncevolution
calendar or addressbook.

In the ScheduleWord forums there is a thread (
http://www.scheduleworld.com/jforum/posts/list/1031.page ) which makes
me think the current Evolution 2.20 does not reply to API calls the same
way as previous versions.

I am not at all familiar with the internal workings of either, I'm
afraid...

[Bug 154814] Cannot configure shortcuts for all workspaces

2007-10-20 Thread Stijn Tintel
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I have configured my workspaces in Gnome like this:
- Columns: 4
- Rows: 2

This should give me a total of 8 workspaces, which it does on the
workspace switcher. There seems to be a problem however, with the number
of workspaces you can define shortcuts for in gnome-keybinding-
properties. I can only configure shortcuts for Switch to workspace and
Move window to workspace for 2 workspaces (1 and 2). For the other 6,
these shortcuts are not configurable.

At first I thought that only for the number of rows there were shortcuts
available, but when I configure 3 rows, I still can only configure
shortcuts for workspace 1 and 2.

FYI, I have Visual Effects set to Extra.

[Bug 25931] Re: Failed to initalize HAL.

2007-10-20 Thread Srik
Yesterday i upgraded to gutsy. On the first reboot i had no problem!!
This morning i had the HAL error!!

When i click on the off button, nothing happens... The network applet
say that there is no network connection but it's not true... Other disks
are not mounted...

I followed all the suggestions in this page with no results:

- CONCURRENCY in /etc/init.d/rc was just set to none...

- renamed S12hal to S13hal and S13gdm to S14gdm in /etc/rc2.d (i tried
renaming them even in /etc/rc(3,4,5).d)

- sudo update-rc.d -f dbus remove and then sudo update-rc.d dbus
multiuser 12 20 as suggested by Alex Muntada
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/~alex.muntada)

I have a core 2 duo machine.

 ps -p $( /var/run/dbus/pid) give --
PID TTY TIME CMD

pidof hald and then ls -l /etc/rc2.d/*dbus* give --
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2007-10-20 11:37 /etc/rc2.d/S12dbus - ../init.d/dbus

A cat /proc/cpuinfo and the relevant parts of dmesg probably wouldn't

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using gutsy.

Then I recreated the /home/username/file:/home directory and clicking

broken again.

I searched for .gtk-bookmarks but I couldn't find it. Could tell me

Thank you for your bug. Are you sure you are not using a dual core CPU?

[Bug 154575] Re: adding /home to bookmarks in nautilus bug

2007-10-20 Thread Sebastien Bacher
The .gtk-bookmarks is the file listing your bookmark, that's where the
entry should be added. Where did you have the
/home/username/file:/home directory listed?

Tina, that looks like a different issue, could you open a new bug?

[Bug 131781] Re: gimp: size for new image not set

2007-10-20 Thread r3uk
I've just installed Gutsy with Gimp 2.4.0 RC3 and can confirm this is
still happening. Selecting the option to create a new image offers a
fixed image size of 420x300 pixels rather than it being sized to the
last item copied to the clipboard. A workaround if copying with Gimp
(from an open image to a new file), is to right-click the selection area
and choose 'Edit / Paste as new image' where a new image will be created
in the correct size for the selection area. It would be nice to have the
functionality back where a new file is automatically sized though.

[Bug 150471] Re: [Gutsy] high processor activity after logging out and then logging in again

2007-10-20 Thread w.d
I'm sorry, I got so frustrated I reinstalled Gutsy! For now, I don't
experience the problem anymore, but who knows... ;-)

[Bug 135197] Re: Icon missing

2007-10-20 Thread DarkMageZ
i personally use tango (which works), but for the sake of gathering data
for this bug i desided to try all of my other icon themes.

there is no icon with the icon sets:
human
crux
gnome
mist
tangerine

there is a stock xchat-gnome icon provided by one of the xchat-gnome
packages. maybe the .desktop file should point to or fall back to that
instead of praying that the current icon theme has an icon for this very
obscure peice of software?
