[Bug 162628] X - GDM resolution mismatch after upgrade
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm I'm helping a friend at work with the upgrade of his laptop, from Feisty to Gutsy, and after the upgrade the desktop is only 1024x768 (identical to his laptop screen) - but X detects his external 1280x1024 monitor and sets up a correct resolution. I have tried everything I can think of. - Reconfigured X - Removed xorg.conf - tried displayconfig-gtk (in which I'm unable to choose 1280x1024) This seem to be related to gdm or GNOME and the way it interprets the X-config. xrandr reports (correctly) that the resolution is 1280x1024 But for some reason gdm and GNOME only believes that the resolution is 1024x768. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- X - GDM resolution mismatch after upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/162628 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

The contents of the file indicate that the file is of type HTML document. If you open this file, the file might present a security risk to your system. Etc... The file contains html, but clearly is a php script. I believe this occurs with any file that contains a html tag, even including .xls Because the file is treated as html, the corresponding actions are altered. [Bug 148701] Re: Search function in File browser does not function
Definitely not a duplicate of bug #150379, which I checked out: I have tracker enabled. It could be a duplicate of bug #154692 as Nick says above, but I think we may be facing two different problems here: 1- If you search a folder that tracker has not indexed, the search won't return anything 2- Even if you search an indexed folder such as your home folder, tracker search doesn't interpret your search query in the same way nautilus used to do. As I reported above, it doesn't seem to allow you to search for part of a file name. It may allow you to search for part of a word IN a file, but that can get very confusing. I can't help but think of the legions of newbie users who are being confused to death right now... I install linux systems for friends who are really bad for computers, so I know what their experience would be with this. -- Search function in File browser does not function https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/148701 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
