[Bug 116990] Re: Rhythmbox sound problems (clicking/snapping/crackling) when not using crossfading backend
@mihai007 I guess it is a pulseaudio problem. Just close Rhythmbox, run in Terminal the command killall pulseaudio and start Rhythmbox again. [Bug 180087] Re: Processes tab causes GLib error
Maybe that it the problem then. I pulled this icon out of an icon set I got from gnome-look.org as is with the .svg tag. But after looking at the file in detail, it is indeed a .png. So perhaps the problem is when a file labeled as .svg is actually a .png. Trying to open the .svg one in image viewer doesn't work. But if I rename it to firefox.png it works fine. It is now apparent that there were 2 separate issues here as the login font issue remains. I can confirm this bug too, but to me it seems more of a kernel problem (allthough I'm not a developer). I've upgraded from Kubuntu Gutsy to Kubuntu Hardy, and so I've got 2 kernels on my machine: - 2.6.24-16-generic - 2.6.22-14-generic Booting the new kernel DVD's are not mounted (and there appears another error-message telling me libdvdcss is not installed, allthough it is, but I guess that's a different story). This happened before I installed the proposed hal, and after I installed it. So no change for me here. Booting the old kernel DVD's are mounted and played (even without the libdvdcss error-message!), no matter I used hal delivered with Hardy, or the proposed hal. Disabling the old entry in /etc/fstab (/dev/hdd/media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user, noauto, exec 0 0) did not work either with the new kernel. If there is anything I can test just let me know. Yes gnome-system-monitor 2.22.1-0ubuntu2 is an improvement, but it only seems to be a relative improvement of around 33% to me. [Bug 202089] Re: Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume
I have earlier had problems with gnome-power-manager (and was told it was do to another bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- power-manager/+bug/196688), but yesterday I got a similar problem with pidgin: The sound suddenly wasn't working, and I did a killall pulseaudio, this used to help but didn't, so instead I did ps aux | grep pulseaudio and kill -9 , and in the same moment I got a pidgin sound (like when you receive a message), even though it was at least an hour since I last got one. And then the system got slow, real slow, but i manage to open up gnome-system-monitor, and I saw that pidgin was eating up more that 500MB of my memory. Killing pidgin made the system run normal again. It might be another bug again, but kind of weird it comes at the same as the gnome-power-manager did. ** Attachment added: Pidgin using 625MB memory http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14360939/pidgin2.png -- Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202089 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 150702] Re: alt shift tab stopped navigating windows
Hello there, I have reassigned this to compiz, since I have experienced this bug on Hardy after dist-upgrade from Gutsy. But after a clean installation of Hardy, I see this bug is FIXED - pressing/releasing shift during the switching of windows now does reverse the direction of switching (initiated wiht alttab), it works as expected. There is still one inconsistency here though, when the switching dialog is initiated with shiftalttab (press and hold shift, then press and hold alt, then press tab - in this sequence). At first, it does exactly what I expect. While holding shift and alt, hitting tab switches the windows in the reverse direction. But then if the shift is released (and alt is still held), the switching is finished, and I think it should not. It's the release of alt what should trigger the finish of the switching, not the release of shift. The pressing/release of shift should only trigger the direction of the switching. Again, I would not call this an issue, it rather an inconsistency, since it occurs only when shiftalttab is used to initiate the switching and I would say not many people are using that. -- alt shift tab stopped navigating windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/150702 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 155776] Re: [Gutsy] Gucharmap doesn't display all the characters properly, even in the Latin script
The problem is still there. There hasn't been any activity in it recently because nobody asked for more information (and IMHO more information isn't really necessary, since anybody can reproduce the bug). The bug description is complete, and the bug can be easily reproduced by any developer willing to look at it. Did you try it yourself (on Gutsy) before wondering if it is still an issue? It actually isn't an issue _for_ _me_, it's an issue for any Ubuntu Gutsy user that open gucharmap. If you don't have Ubuntu, it is easy to reproduce the bug by booting a Gutsy Live CD. You can download Ubuntu Live CD at http://releases.ubuntu.com/ - in this case, you can grab the Live CD at http://releases.ubuntu.com/7.10/ubuntu-7.10-desktop-i386.iso Under Windows, you should be able to burn the iso directly or by using open source programs, but I can't help you because it's not something I really know much. If you don't have a CD recorder, you can request free Ubuntu CD at https://shipit.ubuntu.com/ , but you'll get the newer version.
