*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 188732 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/188732 Uhm, this bug is most definitely not a duplicate of bug #188732. It's not about whether the cursor blinks or not, but about it appearing as a block instead of a line. While we're at it, I'd like to request an underscore style cursor, like the one used in text mode and the old DOS. [Bug 232430] [NEW] Rhythmbox crashes GDM session changing between songs
Public bug reported: Rhythmbox crashes all the GDM session, closing all the X when changing between songs. This *only happens if you are on another X session*. I suspect the new ubuntu changes the device permissions because you are on other X session. When rhythmbox ends playing songs, closes and opens the device, so the permissions get noticed, and crashes, and all the GDM session too!!! I'm using directly the alsa device on sound properties, because with pulseaudio I don't get any sound on my speakers. Just after boot I can get it to work, but it ends not working. With pulseaudio this doesn't happens, the sound get muted instantly on the change. Steps to reproduce: 1. On System-Preferences-sound Select your sound device directly, not Autodetect or Pulseaudio. 2. Open rhythmbox, play a song 3. Open a new X session with another user 4. Wait to the song to finish. When rhythmbox tries to change the song, the other X session will crash and GDM will re-launch a new login screen! ** Affects: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Rhythmbox crashes GDM session changing between songs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/232430 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 225615] Re: Heavy memory leak in gvfsd-http
Confirmed in gvfsd-dav, too. Reproducable using gnome-user-share on machine 1, and connecting using network:// on machine 2. Transfer any file from Public on machine 1 Fire up top and watch the memory blow up. You'll also find that when the total size of the files copied exceeds free memory, that the copy process fails and the dav mount must be unmounted before it can be used again. I've been hunting through gvfsbackendhttp.c and soup-input-stream.c (and libsoup itself), but I haven't found the leak yet. Re: [Bug 220398] Re: SYStem monitor shows active program as sleeping
Hey Sebasian, I'm sorry to have not responded to you. My hard drive is damaged and also a second one on a different machine after I installed SUSE on it before switching to the final release of Hardy Heron. It seems there is some trouble with the SUSE disck management which make it impossible to load an operating sysem after Novelles system has been on the hars drive. I'v tried using the WD hard drive tools and the Maxtor Max blast to re-configure at the lowest level. Still these drives will not load after installing an os. (they give error loading OS message) I'll try again as soon as I can get a new hard drive.
